News On Ridge Holland’s Contract Prior WWE Release

News On Ridge Holland’s Contract Prior WWE Release – A new update from Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio has shed light on the contract details surrounding Ridge Holland’s WWE departure. According to Alvarez, the recently released star was earning “NXT money” rather than the higher salary typical of main roster talents. Holland, who joined WWE in 2018, confirmed that his contract will not be renewed when it expires on November 14 — a decision reportedly made while he remains sidelined with a serious foot injury.

“With Ridge Holland, I know people have been saying he was making main roster money — he wasn’t,” Alvarez explained. “When they sent him back to NXT and he was there for years, I think, a couple of years at least, he was making NXT money. He was not making main roster money anymore. So it’s not like he’s making some giant main roster contract. He was making NXT money and they won’t even pay that during the time that he’s out with this injury.”

Holland, a former rugby player, had previously competed on WWE’s main roster, even participating in the 2022 WarGames match at Survivor Series. However, since December 2023, he had been primarily featured on NXT, where he experienced a creative resurgence. His final run on the brand saw him team with Andre Chase as part of the popular Chase U faction, winning the NXT Tag Team Championship before ultimately betraying his partners and forcing the group to disband.

Unfortunately, Holland’s momentum came to a halt after suffering a severe Lisfranc injury to his foot during a dark match with Moose at a TNA television taping. The injury required surgery, leaving him unable to compete. WWE’s decision not to renew his contract during his recovery has drawn criticism among some fans and colleagues.

Looking ahead, Holland has announced plans to transition into a new venture outside of WWE. He intends to launch an online coaching business, using his athletic background to provide training and mentorship while supporting his family.
