UFC’s Dana White On White House Correspondents Dinner Shooting: ‘It Was F***ing Awesome’

UFC President Dana White was at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday when a shooting occurred, though he wasn’t as rattled as some of the other guests.

An armed man had gained entry to the outside lobby at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, attended by President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and FBI Director Kash Patel, as well as several notable White House Correspondents representing major media outlets.

From there, shots were fired, and an officer was shot. The bullet was said to have been stopped by his vest and he was recovering, per officials. The suspect was apprehended before further harm could be done, the President, Vice President, and senior officials were escorted out of the venue, but White was also present at the event and had the chance to give his thoughts fresh after the moment.

“It just started getting noisy, tables getting flipped over, guys running in with guns. They were screaming, ‘Get down,’ I didn’t get down. It was f***ing awesome,” he said. “I literally took every minute of it in, and it was a pretty crazy, unique experience.”

“We were sitting right in front of the table, right in front of where the President was,” he continued. “Nobody got tackled, but guys came in looking for shooters. They came toward our table, I thought the shooter was by us or something.”

The armed man was said to have been a guest at the Washington Hilton where the dinner was being held, and is expected to be in court on Monday. He is believed to have opened fire and acted alone but a motive and intended target(s) has yet to be determined.

The suspect has been identified as Cole Tomas Allen, a 31 year old native of Torrance, California. He will be facing two firearm-related charges including a count of assaulting an officer with a deadly weapon.

Trump is set to host White and the UFC at the White House for Freedom 250 on June 14.

WWE HOFer Ric Flair Muses On Dream Match With Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns’ evolution in WWE into “The Tribal Chief” has won over many fans, with many legends wanting to face him in hypothetical dream matches, one of them being Ric Flair.

Flair was recently asked in his interview with “Yahoo! Sports” about which two stars from any era that he would pit against each other in a dream match. “The Nature Boy,” without skipping a beat, said that he would’ve loved to face Reigns, but only if he could be the heel in the story, explaining why he doesn’t feel Reigns should be a heel.

“Me and Roman Reigns [would be a dream match]. Me being the bad guy. Roman is the handsomest son of a bi*ch alive. Even when he’s trying to be bad, he can’t be bad. You can’t be that good looking. You know what I mean? And he’s got a great physique. He brings charisma, style, class — and as is Cody,” Flair said.

While Reigns ranks high in his mind as an overall star, Flair still believes that his Evolution partner, Randy Orton, is still the best wrestler in pro wrestling, despite his injury issues.

“I think the best wrestler there is, is Randy Orton still. Randy, he’s just got a unique gift, and he carries himself well, and he came back from a bad injury, and he looks better than ever, boy, I tell you.”

Flair has also lauded Orton’s in-ring ability in the past, particularly his timing, but believes that “The Viper” may have been underused in WWE due to his outspoken nature. The WWE Hall of Famer has listed several wrestlers who impress him, but in his eyes, his daughter, multi-time WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, is still the best wrestler today.

Trick Williams Identifies Fellow WWE SmackDown Star As One Of His Dream Opponents

Trick Williams’ United States Championship win means he will have several stars on “WWE SmackDown” vying for his title, and he has named one star from the blue brand as his dream opponent.

Williams got one of the most important wins of his WWE career at WrestleMania 42 when he defeated Sami Zayn to win the US title. Following the win, he was interviewed by “The Sportster,” who suggested that Aleister Black could be a great opponent for him. Williams agreed and revealed that Black is a dream opponent for him.

“Aleister Black? I would love him. I love his style. He’s a veteran. And he’s actually one of my dream opponents, man. I really like Aleister Black. That’s dope,” he said.

Williams and Black have never faced each other, and their contrasting personas could make for an interesting feud on “SmackDown.” Black, since his return to WWE, has feuded with a person that Williams knows closely, his former friend and rival Carmelo Hayes, while his most recent feud came against former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Damian Priest. Williams has revealed that he won’t repeat Hayes’ approach by reintroducing the Open Challenge for the United States Championship, but has welcomed challengers for his title.

While Black is one of Williams’ dream opponents, the former NXT Champion has even bigger dreams, recently revealing that he would like to face Roman Reigns, the current World Heavyweight Champion, someday at WrestleMania. For now, Williams can’t bask too much in the glory of his phenomenal win at WrestleMania, as the likes of Black and company will likely be gunning for his title.

WWE’s Shawn Michaels Reveals Last Time He Spoke To Old Rival Bret Hart

WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels has never seen eye-to-eye with fellow HOFer Bret “Hitman” Hart. The two men’s infamous rivalry has led to harsh words, hair-pulling, and even a screwjob. The two men eventually reconciled in the 2000s, and their relationship has completely turned around, according to Michaels.

“The last time [Bret and I] had a conversation was at the Hall of Fame last year,” Michaels told The Ringer Wrestling Podcast recently. “We were in the same dressing room and I helped him put on his suspenders.”

Hart had never worn suspenders, and “The Heartbreak Kid” had plenty of experience. While the two men are still friendly, the WWE Performance Center trainer doesn’t think Hart will be training the next generation of WWE stars.

“I can’t see Bret wanting to move his entire life to Florida, or anything like that,” Michaels said, noting that he doesn’t know if the former WWE Champion has ever been invited to coach in the Performance Center. “If he ever wanted to come down and do a seminar -but he’s never really shown interest in that kind of stuff. But you’d be crazy to think Bret Hart doesn’t add value…We’d jump at the chance [to have him in the WWE PC].”

Hart’s niece, Natalya, is currently running training seminar’s in her own training center, which have often featured stars from both AEW and WWE. The former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion called her training center a “love letter to wrestling.” Michaels noted that Hart has also not taken part in Natalya’s seminars either.
