Former ECW Star Raven Appears In TNA Impact Vignette Alongside Rosemary & Allie

Raven returned to TNA for the first time in four years starring in a backstage vignette alongside Rosemary and Allie during Thursday’s “TNA Impact.”

The TNA Hall of Famer, and former World Champion, teased his return to the promotion earlier this month, pictured alongside Allie and Rosemary with the former yet to have returned. She did so during a segment last week, and it became clear that Rosemary’s storyline would center on her return from the dead, having been killed off when she initially departed the promotion.

He appeared during this week’s segment, with Rosemary visiting him. They spoke about his issue with Tommy Dreamer, he ignored Allie’s presence, and proceeded to give Rosemary a vial of Dreamer’s blood. All in the spirit of storytelling, one would hope.

“Envy is next on Rosemary’s list as she visits TNA Hall of Famer Raven on her quest to bring Allie back from the dead,” the caption for the segment reads via X.

Raven has Parkinson’s Disease, what he has described as payment for all he had taken throughout his wrestling career. Yet he continues to appear in the sport which saw him hold titles in WCW, WWE, ECW, and TNA, retaining a sense of optimism over his life.

AEW’s Jeff Jarrett Says ‘Prayers Up’ For Konnan After Reported Leg Amputation Surgery

There has been no shortage of love poured out for lucha libre legend Konnan following recent reports of his leg amputation procedure, and Jeff Jarrett is just the newest name on the long list of fans and industry figureheads who are keeping the AAA Hall of Famer in their thoughts. Jarrett offered his support for the WCW and TNA legend on a recent episode of “My World with Jeff Jarrett,” and reaffirmed Konnan’s massive impact in the professional wrestling business.

“Prayers up for my man,” Jarrett exclaimed. “He’ll pull through — he always does, man! He always does.”

Jarrett’s sentiment was forwarded by mountains of praise for the AAA icon, from both Jarrett and show cohost Conrad Thompson. Both men credited Konnan as one of the driving forces behind the exportation of lucha libre from Mexico into the United States, with Jarrett citing Konnan’s presence in both “WCW Nitro” and AAA as a huge factor in their success, past and present.

“I think any WCW fan, when you look at Nitro, you take out the lucha libre aspect of Nitro?” Jarrett said. “…I just think [Konnan] was a massive part of the success of Nitro, the lucha libre style.”

Jarrett spoke fondly of Konnan, both as a professional and as a friend. Jarrett recounted his immediate reaction to Konnan’s hospitalization report, and reassured fans that Konnan’s spirits were high.

“I saw [the report], and…we always, pretty much, stay up, and text back and forth, but…man, I saw that headline, and I immediately text him. I didn’t ask any details, just: “Hey dude, love you. Hope all is well,”” Jarrett recounted. “We text back and forth, he said some funnies like he always does, and we were on our way.”

As of writing, Konnan is reported to be in “a delicate state of health.”

Why Former UFC Champ Anderson Silva Turned Down Fight On MVP’s Rousey-Carano Card

UFC legend Anderson Silva turned down a fight for Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions’ Ronda Rousey-Gina Carano card because he is joining the police academy in April.

Silva is looking to become a police officer in the Beverly Hills Police Department at the age of 50, having carved a 34-11 (One no-contest) MMA record, formerly a UFC Middleweight Champion, a Hall of Fame inductee, and a 4-2 record in boxing.

Silva’s last defeat in boxing came against Paul, and he told Ariel Helwani that he had been invited to fight alongside fellow losers to the MVP promoter, Nate Diaz and Mike Perry, on the upcoming May 16 card.

Silva said that Nakisa Bidarian had invited him to fight either kickboxing or MMA, but because he is in the process of joining the police he wants to put all of his focus into that. He did continue to say he has two more fights in him, but only boxing, as he does that not have it in him to train in MMA again. In terms of dream opponents, he said he would like to fight Chris Weidman and Hayato Sakurai.

Weidman beat Silva twice, capturing and retaining the UFC Middleweight Championship in 2013 via Punch-KO and TKO through leg injury.

David Otunga Didn’t Think He Was Ready For WWE Main Roster

The dream of going from a developmental talent to a main roster call-up is what every Superstar in the making strives for in their eventual WWE career. And for former pro wrestler David Otunga, his came inevitably fast – less than two years after signing with the company. In an interview on “Developmentally Speaking,” the former and original Nexus member describes the adrenaline rush he felt after getting the call that he was going to be featured on the main roster.

“My call-up was so fast. I was just trying to get a handle on wrestling,” the former two-time WWE Tag Team Champion recalled. “I wasn’t even really on FCW TV that much. I’d just gotten on there. I think I may have had one match on there before they called me up to ‘WWE NXT.’ I’m not sure. One or two…I was like, ‘Wait, what? I wasn’t ready for this yet. But awesome.'”

Of course, mentally, Otunga did not feel he was ready, as he mentioned later on in his interview that he still was being led through matches, and the pressure to be confident in front of a live audience and millions watching from home, despite not having enough maneuvers in his arsenal, was extremely intimidating. His last televised match was as a participant in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 30 in 2014. Luckily for him, surviving the fear of a potential firing after the formation of Nexus, the former lawyer turned wrestler got to fulfill his in-ring dreams up until his release in 2020.
