Former WWE Star Carlito Offers Update On When He Plans To Retire

Ex-WWE star Carlito has discussed his retirement plans and what he intends to do after hanging up his wrestling boots.

The Puerto Rican star, best known for his time in WWE, recently spoke to Chris Van Vliet on “Insight” about his thoughts on retiring. Carlito, whose most recent run with WWE came to an end last year, stated that his second stint with the promotion helped bolster his retirement fund.

“Oh, yeah [I’ve thought about retiring]. I’m getting there. I still got a little bit left in the tank, I feel. Not that I don’t want to do it anymore, I just am focusing more on the exit plan,” he said. “The WWE run helped out a lot with the retirement plan. So, yeah, a couple more years and then I can ride off into the sunset.”

He added that he intends to walk away from the business after retiring and enjoy life somewhere near a beach, even letting go of something that was a key part of his persona — his hair.

“Just do that, and then like literally not even hearing about me or nothing. Go back to Puerto Rico, maybe. Maybe like find a house on the beach or something with some land. Shave my head. That’s one of the things I definitely want to do at some point, is go back to my bald head,” said the former WWE star.

The former WWE United States and Intercontinental Champion has been part of the pro wrestling business for over 25 years, beginning his career in his father’s World Wrestling Council promotion before switching to WWE. Prior to his WWE contract expiring, he had hoped to end his career with the company, but it appears that won’t happen.

WWE Champ Cody Rhodes Says He Feels Like His Luck Is Running Out

Cody Rhodes retained the Undisputed WWE Championship in controversial fashion at Clash in Italy. GUNTHER’s foot was under the rope as Rhodes pinned him. The referee’s view was obstructed and he declared Rhodes the victor.

During an ESPN interview with Joe Tessitore, Rhodes discussed being punted by Randy Orton. “Everything you need to know about me happens after. I got up and I tried to make eye contact with everyone and let them know two things; I’m still the champ, still here. And if that’s Randy’s best shot and Randy is at his best ever, then what does that say about me? I don’t mean this with arrogance. I’m pretty lucky and I don’t know how much more luck I have.”

After WrestleMania 42, he spent time with his family. He reflected on his dad telling him that he’d have to come home after matches beat up and explain to his kids that he was okay. History repeated itself when Rhodes’ four-year-old daughter asked what happened to him and if he was okay. An emotional Rhodes said, “nothing prepares you for that and I hope that’s not a regular occurrence.”

Tessitore asked him about being QB1. Rhodes said that QB1 is the most consistent, week in and week out. “There’s all these jokes that I follow the John Cena model and I don’t mind those jokes at all because that’s a hell of a model.” He didn’t feel like a winner after WrestleMania and needs challengers because he’s “addicted to the top spot. I’m not afraid to tell anybody that.”

Sol Ruca Says WWE Clash In Italy Victory Over Becky Lynch Was A ‘Defining Moment’

After earning a title shot at WWE SNME due to a match disqualification, Sol Ruca defeated Becky Lynch to become the Women’s IC Champion at “Clash in Italy”. While Ruca was a double champion in “NXT”, she’s only been on the main roster since the “Raw” after WrestleMania 42.

Ruca reflected on her win on “WWE Now”. She says she was an emotional and physical mess. “I had a moment as soon as the bell rang and as soon as I hit my finisher on Becky, I kind of got a little bit emotional. I was a bit shocked, like ‘oh my God, I did it’. This is like, my defining moment. The start of my next chapter in a sense.” Ruca says since her win, she’s received an overwhelming amount of love and acceptance from her fans.

She wants to be a fighting champion. “I want to defend this thing as many times as I physically possibly can. I was a double champion in “NXT” with the Speed Championship and the NXT Championship and I feel like my reigns weren’t up to par with how I feel like I can be a champion.” Ruca wants to prove herself with this title and is open to giving opportunities to whoever is ready. She’d like to give opportunities to women in “NXT” to get title shots.

Oba Femi and IYO SKY Advance in WWE King and Queen of the Ring Tournaments

WWE RAW on June 1 featured major tournament developments, as Oba Femi and IYO SKY secured key victories to move forward in the King and Queen of the Ring brackets.

Oba Femi earned his spot in the semifinals of the King of the Ring tournament after winning a Fatal 4-Way match against Solo Sikoa, Carmelo Hayes, and Penta. The finish came when Femi delivered his Fall From Grace finisher to Sikoa for the decisive pin.

The match also included outside interference, as Talla Tonga attempted to take Femi out of contention. Tonga briefly gained the upper hand, but Femi recovered and responded by throwing him onto the announce table, removing him from the situation before the closing sequence.

After the match, Femi addressed the crowd and referenced his recent clash with Brock Lesnar at Clash in Italy.

“I took Brock Lesnar’s best shot at WWE Clash in Italy, and I am still standing. It’s 1-1 between me and Brock, and I will see him down the line.”

With the win, Femi now advances to the semifinals. He will face the winner of the upcoming Fatal 4-Way between Dominik Mysterio, Bron Breakker, Trick Williams, and Damian Priest.

On the women’s side, the Queen of the Ring tournament also saw its first-round action. Roxanne Perez, IYO SKY, Giulia, and Lash Legend competed in a high-paced Fatal 4-Way match.

The finish featured multiple quick sequences. Lash Legend hit her Lash Extension finisher on Giulia and went for the pin. At that moment, IYO SKY intervened with a top-rope double foot stomp onto Legend. SKY then followed up with her signature moonsault on Giulia to secure the win.

With the victory, SKY advances to the next round. She will face the winner of the upcoming match featuring Bayley, Raquel Rodriguez, Jacy Jayne, and Kiana James.

The King and Queen of the Ring tournaments finals are scheduled for WWE Night of Champions. The winner will earn a world title opportunity at SummerSlam, raising the stakes as the competition moves closer to its conclusion.

WWE’s Rhea Ripley Offers Injury Update On Husband & AEW Star Buddy Matthews

AEW’s Buddy Matthews has been out of action since suffering an ankle injury at Grand Slam Australia in February 2025 in a match against Kazuchika Okada. The following May, he revealed that he suffered a partial ligament tear along with cartilage damage. His recovery has been slow going, but there seemed to be some positive progress when he attacked former WWE wrestler Donovan Dijak at an indie event last month. At the show, he announced that while he isn’t cleared yet, he will be in October.

During an appearance on “What’s Your Story?”, Matthews’ wife, Rhea Ripley provided another update. She says Matthews is just now able to get in the ring to see what he can do. “He’ll get in and run the ropes. I’ve been teaching him some rolls since the boys class didn’t do as many rolls as the girls class.” She has concerns of being injured herself being on the road so often. Ripley says he goes harder than her right now “because he’s trying to get back in that mode.” Their friend, Tommy (Aleister Black) trains with them too.
