Liv Morgan Explains Why She Entered Queen of the Ring Despite Being Women’s World Champion

Liv Morgan is already at the top of WWE’s women’s division as Women’s World Champion, but she is not slowing down. Following WWE Clash in Italy, Morgan made it clear during the post-show that she is entering the 2026 Queen of the Ring tournament with one goal in mind—adding more gold and further proving her dominance.

Morgan addressed the field of competitors in the tournament and pointed out her past success against many of them.

“All these women had an incredible night—but you know what they all have in common? They’ve all been beaten by Liv Morgan.”

She then shifted focus to the criticism surrounding her championship reign. Morgan said the negative reactions and doubts about her legitimacy as champion only fueled her decision to compete in the tournament.

“So I was like, okay, let me expand upon this. It had me thinking about all the people who say Morgan isn’t a good champion—Liv Morgan doesn’t defend her title, Liv Morgan isn’t worthy of being champion. So you know what that made me think? That made me think I am entering the Queen of the Ring tournament because I want it all. I want it all.”

Morgan followed that with a confident message directed at her critics and the entire roster.

“Because I am the greatest Women’s World Champion of all time. You can cry about it—but if I were you, I’d watch me.”

WWE confirmed the 2026 Queen of the Ring bracket during the Clash in Italy post-show, and Morgan now faces a major challenge in the opening round against Becky Lynch.

The tournament lineup is loaded with top names, including Alexa Bliss vs Chelsea Green, Sol Ruca vs Lyra Valkyria, Charlotte Flair vs Jade Cargill, Roxanne Perez vs Iyo Sky, Giulia vs Lash Legend, Bayley vs Raquel Rodriguez, and Jacy Jayne vs Kiana James.

The Queen of the Ring finals are scheduled for June 27 at WWE Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with a SummerSlam title shot on the line.

Morgan’s decision adds a new layer to the tournament, as the reigning Women’s World Champion now looks to dominate a field filled with former champions and rising stars. Her first test comes immediately against Becky Lynch, in what could be one of the most important matches of the opening round.

King and Queen of The Ring Brackets Revealed

King and Queen of The Ring Brackets Revealed

WWE wasted no time building momentum after Clash in Italy, unveiling stacked brackets for both the 2026 King and Queen of the Ring tournaments—setting the stage for a huge showdown at WWE Night of Champions on June 27 in Riyadh.

The men’s tournament features a mix of established stars and rising talent across both sides:

Left Side

  • Penta vs Oba Femi
  • Solo Sikoa vs Chris Hayes
  • Rey Mysterio vs Bron Breakker
  • Je’Von Williams vs Damian Priest

Right Side

  • Seth Rollins vs Je’Von Evans
  • Talla Tonga vs Ricky Saints
  • Jey Uso vs LA Knight
  • Royce Keys vs Finn Bálor

👉 With names like Rollins, Breakker, Priest, and Bálor involved, this bracket is wide open—and brutal.

The women’s tournament continues to showcase the depth of WWE’s roster:

Left Side

  • Liv Morgan vs Becky Lynch
  • Alexa Bliss vs Chelsea Green
  • Sol Ruca vs Lyra Valkyria
  • Charlotte Flair vs Jade Cargill

Right Side

  • Roxanne Perez vs Iyo Sky
  • Giulia vs Lash Legend
  • Bayley vs Raquel Rodriguez
  • Jacy Jayne vs Kiana James

Both tournaments carry massive implications:

The Queen of the Ring concept evolved from the 2021 “Queen’s Crown,” won by Zelina Vega. Since then, the tournament has grown into a major platform:

  • Nia Jax and Asuka used it to elevate into title contention
  • Now it stands alongside King of the Ring as a key career-defining opportunity
  • Seth Rollins could dominate his side—but Je’Von Evans may be a sleeper
  • Jey Uso vs LA Knight feels like a potential show-stealer
  • Charlotte Flair vs Jade Cargill has major “finals preview” energy
  • Sol Ruca enters with momentum after winning gold at Clash
  • Bron Breakker could bulldoze his way to the throne

With stacked brackets, rising stars, and established legends colliding, WWE is clearly positioning King and Queen of the Ring 2026 as must-watch tournaments heading into SummerSlam.

WWE Stars Rey Fenix, War Raiders Win AAA Gold At Noche De Los Grandes

AAA hosted its highly anticipated “Noche de los Grandes” event in Monterrey, Mexico on May 30, with the majority of the show being aired on FOX in Latin America and YouTube worldwide. The rest of the show will air next week on June 6, and while the main attraction of the show was the Mask vs. Mask match between El Grande Americano and The Original El Grande Americano, three title matches also took place that saw the likes of Rey Fenix and The War Raiders pick up some gold.

In the night’s opening contest, Fenix was given another shot at the AAA World Cruiserweight Champion Laredo Kid after losing their initial meeting on the May 23 episode of “AAA on FOX.” Fenix wasn’t going to let the opportunity at becoming champion slip through his fingers twice as he managed to nail Laredo Kid with the Black Fire Driver to win the match and become the new champion.

The win marks the first title Fenix has held since signing with WWE at the beginning of 2025, and the first gold he has held at all since his three week reign with the AEW International Championship in 2023. Fenix now has the distinction of being the only man in AAA history to have held the same championship for a company under two different regimes, with this being his second reign as the AAA World Cruiserweight Champion following his 13 month reign with the belt between 2022 and 2023.

There was also some joy for The War Raiders, who got the better of the unpredictable duo of Pagano and Psycho Clown to become the new AAA World Tag Team Champions. Some miscommunication  between the champions in the closing moments left Psycho Clown isolated for long enough for Erik and Ivar to hit the DPM for the victory. They now also have the distinction of being one of the few teams to have held gold in North America, Japan, and Mexico.

WWE Reveals Full King & Queen Of The Ring Tournament Brackets

Last week, WWE confirmed the return of the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments. Now, the official brackets are in.

On the Clash In Italy post-show, WWE broadcaster Joe Tessitore reiterated that the winners of the tournaments will each receive championship opportunities at WWE SummerSlam, set for August 1 and 2. Each tournament will also start out with 16 competitors.

WWE Intercontinental Champion Penta, Oba Femi, Solo Sikoa, and Carmelo Hayes will kick off the King of the Ring tourney with a first round match on the June 1 edition of “WWE Raw.” The opening round will then continue with three other bouts, one of which will pit AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio against WWE US Champion Trick Williams, Tag Team Champion Damian Priest, and World Tag Team Champion Bron Breakker. Elsewhere, Seth Rollins, Je’von Evans, Talla Tonga, and Ricky Saints will battle one another, while Jey Uso, LA Knight, Royce Keys, and Finn Balor will do the same in another fatal-four-way.

The winners of these bouts will move to the semi-finals, with the KOTR tournament then culminating at Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on June 27.

The 2026 Queen of the Ring will follow the same format, though in its case, putting 16 of WWE’s best women up against each other. This includes WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan, who enters the respective tournament with the aim of “taking it all” at SummerSlam. To potentially do that, she must first overcome Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss, and Chelsea Green in the opening round.

2025 QOTR Jade Cargill returns to the tournament in a first round bout pitting her against newly-crowned Women’s Intercontinental Champion Sol Ruca, Charlotte Flair, and Lyra Valkyria. Meanwhile, the Judgment Day’s Roxanne Perez will face IYO SKY, Giulia, and Lash Legend. Finally, rounding out the right side of the bracket is Bayley vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Jacy Jayne vs. Kiana James.

It should be noted that WWE omitted the word “world” when referring to the winner’s title shots at SummerSlam. As such, it is unclear as to exactly what type of championship opportunities await the 2026 King and Queen of the Ring.

WWE Clash In Italy 2026: 3 Things We Hated & 3 Things We Loved

While I’m never going to be upset about doing well in our predictions contest for the year here at WINC, these predictable WWE shows, after what I thought was a pretty lame and mostly predictable WrestleMania 42, are getting old, fast. I don’t know if Paul “Triple H” Levesque is past his booking prime already, but I have to say that I’m borderline bored, even with premium live events.

I thought it was extremely obvious that the most over talent, World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns, WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley, and Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, were staying over. Meaning, none of them were going to lose their titles, so of course, Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch was going to lose hers to fan-favorite, the super-over Sol Ruca, despite Ruca not yet scoring a victory on the main roster. Something had to happen on this show, and that was the only place it was ever going to. Even though I hated the fact, Brock Lesnar beating Oba Femi was also pretty obvious, as we’re going in the direction of a rubber match between the pair for Femi to hopefully officially retire Lesnar in his adopted home state of Minnesota at SummerSlam.

When Fatu walked out to little noise from such a loud crowd, I knew that no matter how much I wanted him to beat Reigns, there was no way WWE was going to book Reigns to lose in front of such a hot, international crowd. I didn’t think the match was bad or anything, I just saw the outcome coming a mile away, and even at the end, the reveal of Solo Sikoa and the MFTs at ringside was super lame. Cool, they’re on “SmackDown,” I guess they just randomly showed up to gloat to Fatu that they were right, or something.

I was hoping for a major return, and I thought that may have been Randy Orton during the opening match pitting Rhodes against GUNTHER. Nope. That match, with its predictable outcome, just had a seemingly quick, lame finish, though at least WWE set up a rematch for “The Ring General.” I don’t know what Orton is up to right now, but live on ESPN, in front of an international crowd, would have been an excellent place for him to return. Sadly, that wasn’t meant to be, and now I guess we’re getting Rhodes vs. GUNTHER again somewhere down the line, perhaps at Night of Champions if they’re not doing Rhodes vs. Reigns.

I didn’t think any of the wrestling on today’s show was bad, by any means. I’m just quickly growing bored of everything. Something exciting and unpredictable needs to happen to pull me back in.
