Kyle Fletcher Says He Avoided Surgery

Kyle Fletcher has revealed that he was able to avoid surgery after suffering a serious leg injury earlier this year, allowing him to return to AEW action at Double or Nothing and immediately impact the Don Callis Family storyline.

Fletcher suffered the injury on the March 28 episode of Collision, where he tore his meniscus and also sustained a fracture in his ankle and the top of his tibia. Early medical assessments suggested a difficult recovery process, with doctors estimating a 90 percent chance that surgery would be required for the meniscus damage.

However, Fletcher confirmed in a new vlog that he ultimately did not need an operation.

He said, “I don’t have to have surgery. Awesome news. I was given initially 90 percent chance of surgery. No surgery required. Just healing.”

Instead of surgery, Fletcher followed a structured recovery plan focused on natural healing for the fractures, combined with rest and physical therapy. After a short recovery break, he began rehab work and maintained his conditioning at home while working through cardio and nutrition programs to stay ready for an eventual return.

By mid-May, Fletcher had been cleared to resume in-ring training. From there, AEW’s medical team approved his progression back toward competition, setting the stage for his comeback at Double or Nothing.

At AEW Double or Nothing 2026, Fletcher made his return during the post-match fallout involving Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita. Fletcher aligned briefly with the situation before turning on Takeshita, targeting the new AEW International Champion and shifting the direction of the Don Callis Family storyline.

Fletcher reflected on his return following the event, saying, “We’re back on the job. All of a sudden, it’s just — I’m back to being on the road, back to my old life. It’s very exciting. It feels like a chapter has closed today, and now I get to look forward. Bright horizons, happy days ahead. I get to go back to living my dream, loving life, traveling the world, and dropping people on their f**ing heads, which I love to do.”*

His return adds a major new layer to AEW’s international title picture and continues the ongoing internal tension within the Don Callis Family, especially following Konosuke Takeshita’s championship win and Kazuchika Okada’s involvement in the same storyline.

Lola Vice Overcomes Shenanigans To Retain WWE NXT Women’s Title

Resiliency and the removal of The Culling proved to be the recipe for another successful NXT Women’s Championship defense for Lola Vice on “WWE NXT.”

On this occasion, Vice raised up her title against Izzi Dame, who arrived to the title match with the accompaniment of her Culling stablemates Shawn Spears and Niko Vance. Evidently still angry about The Culling’s pre-match attack on them earlier in the night, OTM’s Bronco Nima and Lucien Price returned the favor by charging at Vance and Spears while the latter attempted to yank Vice’s leg outside of the referee’s view. Vance and Spears then brawled with OTM all the way to the backstage area, leaving Dame to challenge Vice in one-on-one fashion.

The subtraction of Vance and Spears from this equation didn’t stop Dame from utilizing sneaky means in her quest to dethrone Vice. With the referee inadvertently dazed by Dame’s running knee, Dame seized the opportunity to toss Vice the title belt, then nail her in the face while she held it up. Still, Vice managed to kick out of the pinfall attempt that followed.

When both women reached their feet once more, Vice cinched in a front facelock body scissor, which Dame reversed into a roll-up. On the rebound, Vice blasted her with a backfist to finally keep her down for the three count.

Vice’s reign as NXT Women’s Champion kicked off at “NXT” Stand & Deliver, when she bested Kendal Grey and the defending champion, Jacy Jayne. Since then, she’s successfully defended the title against Jayne in a rematch, then Dame on tonight’s “NXT” broadcast.

Update on Mick Foley AEW Status, Expected to Be Regular Presence

Update on Mick Foley AEW Status, Expected to Be Regular Presence

Update on Mick Foley AEW Status – Mick Foley may now be part of All Elite Wrestling, but he is not expected to appear on this week’s episode of Dynamite.

According to PWInsider, Foley will not be present at Wednesday’s Dynamite/Collision taping in Philadelphia at the Liacouras Center due to a pre-existing commitment that was scheduled before he officially joined AEW. Despite his absence this week, the expectation is that Foley will be regularly involved in AEW programming moving forward.

“We are told he will be around regularly. I am told he won’t be in Philly this week as he has a pre-existing responsibility that was locked in before he signed but the impression I have been given is that he’ll be a regular part of AEW programming.”

Foley made his AEW debut at Double or Nothing, where he served as co-host of the pre-show broadcast. The appearance also included an in-ring angle that saw MJF deliver a low blow to Foley. Later that night, MJF went on to defeat Darby Allin to capture the AEW World Championship.

Following the event, Foley took to social media to express his excitement about joining AEW, signaling a positive start to his new role with the company.

It remains unclear how physically involved Foley will be on-screen. Tony Khan has indicated he would be open to Foley competing in AEW if the opportunity arises. However, Foley previously abandoned plans for a final match at age 60 after suffering a concussion during training.

Mick Foley AEW Status Update

Looking ahead, Foley could play a role at AEW’s newly announced AEW Redemption 2026 pay-per-view scheduled for July 26 in Montreal. Khan noted that Foley is likely to handle hosting duties for the event, though his current schedule includes a convention appearance in Raleigh, North Carolina on the same date.

“There’s a good chance Mick could come. He’s doing a lot of the AEW events, and I’m sure he’s going to want to be there. I can’t say 100 percent for certain, but I think there’s a very high likelihood that Mick will be attending and hosting the event in Montreal.”

While Foley will miss this week’s show, all indications suggest he will be a consistent on-screen presence for AEW in the weeks ahead.

WWE Considered nWo Revival in 2020 Featuring Sheamus, Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura

WWE Considered nWo Revival in 2020 Featuring Sheamus, Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura

An nWo revival was reportedly considered within WWE during the early stages of the pandemic era in 2020.

Speaking on the Public Enemies Podcast, former WWE writer Chris Dunn, who worked for the company from 2016 to 2021, revealed that a modern version of the faction was pitched while WWE programming was being produced under restricted conditions.

“Do you guys remember that ThunderDome? Really tough to do TV in there, so a lot of ideas were thrown against the wall [laughs]. So, it was discussed at one point, bringing back the nWo 2020,” Dunn said.

According to Dunn, the proposed lineup included Sheamus, Cesaro (now known as Claudio Castagnoli), Shinsuke Nakamura, and Lars Sullivan. The concept reportedly advanced to the point where WWE planned to introduce the group with the involvement of a legendary nWo member.

“The pitch was Sheamus, Cesaro, Nakamura, and Lars Sullivan. It was really close to happening… I forget which legendary nWo member was supposed to fly to Orlando to introduce this new nWo. But essentially they landed and they didn’t pass the COVID test.”

Dunn noted that while a debut had been discussed, there were no long-term creative plans in place beyond the initial launch, with the idea being to develop direction as the storyline progressed.

At the time, WWE was producing shows from the Performance Center before transitioning later in 2020 to the ThunderDome setup across multiple Florida venues. The uncertain environment led to a wide range of experimental ideas being explored.

The proposed faction never materialized. Sullivan exited WWE not long after, while Cesaro left the company in 2022 to join AEW. Sheamus and Nakamura remain active members of the WWE roster.

Following Dunn’s comments, Kevin Nash responded on social media, stating that he had not heard anything about the proposed revival. He added that neither Scott Hall nor Sean Waltman (X-Pac) were aware of the idea.

“Never heard anything about it. Scott and @TheRealXPac and myself were out almost every weekend together. So it definitely wasn’t one of us.”

The original nWo faction, led by Hulk Hogan alongside Nash, Hall, and Waltman, remains one of the most influential groups in wrestling history and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2020.

AEW Announces Redemption 2026 in Montreal

AEW Announces Redemption 2026 in Montreal

All Elite Wrestling has officially announced a new pay-per-view event titled Redemption, set to take place on July 26, 2026, at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

The event will mark AEW’s first-ever Redemption show and the company’s debut pay-per-view in Montreal. It will also serve as AEW’s tenth annual pay-per-view event on its 2026 calendar.

Ticket sales for the show begin with Early Access Premium Seating on May 26, 2026, followed by general public availability starting June 1. Fans can purchase tickets through AEWTix.com.

The addition of Redemption fills a key gap in AEW’s summer schedule between its established events. The company previously confirmed AEW Forbidden Door 2026 for June and AEW All In 2026 for August, making Redemption a new centerpiece event for July.

The Bell Centre, which has a seating capacity of over 21,000, has hosted numerous major wrestling events in the past, including WWE pay-per-views, SmackDown specials, NXT TakeOver shows, and multiple Survivor Series events.

AEW has increased its presence in Canada over the past two years, and this event continues that expansion strategy with a major international market.

The updated AEW 2026 pay-per-view schedule now includes:

  • AEW Double or Nothing 2026 on May 24 at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York (completed)
  • AEW Forbidden Door 2026 on June 28 at SAP Center in San Jose, California
  • AEW Redemption 2026 on July 26 at the Bell Centre in Montreal
  • AEW All In 2026 on August 30 at Wembley Stadium in London, England

The announcement follows AEW Double or Nothing 2026, where Tony Khan addressed several business-related topics during the post-show media scrum, including the possibility of running an event during WrestleMania 43 weekend in 2027, the Paramount-WBD merger, Madison Square Garden, and future plans for the MyAEW streaming service.
