WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event 5/23/2026 Full & Final Card

WWE is set to present another edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event tonight, and the card of five matches is set to be an exciting one. Four titles will be defended on the night, including a match where “WWE Raw” newcomer Sol Ruca could prove she has what it takes to hang against one of the red brand’s top stars after a handful of losses upon her call-up.

Ruca will face off against Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch for the gold, after Lynch crashed Ruca’s initial debut on “Raw,” and the pair went one-on-one in a promo battle on Monday. Lynch agreed to a match, but initially didn’t put her title on the line, as she said Ruca needs to prove herself. As of Tuesday afternoon, WWE announced on social media the match will be for the title.

Two sets of tag team championships will be defended, with WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Brie Bella and Paige set to defend their gold against the Irresistible Forces, Lash Legend and Nia Jax. The Vision’s Logan Paul and Austin Theory will also defend their titles against the Street Profits, who returned to television on the “Raw” after WrestleMania 42 and made their title aspirations known.

Intercontinental Champion Penta will take on former North American Champion Ethan Page, who has been a thorn in the champion’s side since his post-Mania call-up. The match will be Penta’s first defense since he scaled the ladder at WrestleMania to retain his gold in a six-pack challenge.

Finally, Ripley will team with Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss to take on former WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill, B-Fab, and Michin in six-woman tag action. Ripley hasn’t defended the title since dethroning Cargill at WrestleMania, though “The Storm” called her out for a rematch at Clash in Italy on Friday. Since Cargill’s return, she and Flair have also been teasing a match.

WWE HOFer Eric Bischoff Reflects On Working For The Late Ted Turner

Ted Turner, media mogul and entrepreneur, died at the age of 87 on May 6, and the professional wrestling world lost one of the key figures of the Monday Night Wars, despite Turner never appearing on WCW television, even though he owned the company. One person who did appear on “WCW Monday Nitro” and its other programs, however, was former company executive Eric Bischoff, who worked for Turner for around ten years. Bischoff appeared on “The Ariel Helwani Show” to talk about his late boss, and said his “every man” lifestyle had an impact on him, even back then.

“I was one of the only executives… the president of a division of Turner Broadcasting, and I would show up wearing jeans, cowboy boots and ride my Harley to work and park six spaces down from Ted,” he explained. “I had hair down to my shoulders and a beard, and I’d see Ted in the morning and he’d say, ‘Hey, Eric,’ and it was no big deal. I didn’t have to wear a blue suit, a white shirt, and a red tie with wing tipped shoes. That’s what everybody else had to do. Ted kind of, not gave me permission, but gave me the room to just be myself. I think I probably overdid that a little bit. I was immature in many respects, business wise, but I looked at Ted as someone who did it his own way.”

Bischoff said he hopes Turner is remembered as one of the great media moguls and entrepreneurs of our lifetime. Turner was remembered by WCW star Sting on “AEW Dynamite” after his passing, and WWE ran a remembrance graphic for him, as well.

AEW Double Or Nothing 2026 Predictions: Wrestling Inc. Picks The Winners

MJF looks to reclaim the AEW World Championship from Darby Allin, earning himself his third reign with the gold, but he’s putting his hair on the line to do so. There are a few reasons why 60% of us believe MJF is winning this hair-vs-title match, including the fact we don’t believe he’s shaving his head after he underwent a hair transplant, but also because we think there could be bigger plans for him and the “Big, Beautiful Belt” going in to All In.

Allin has had one heck of a run with the gold, putting up seven total consecutive defenses across “Dynamite” and “Collision” against the likes of Kevin Knight, Tommaso Ciampa, Konosuke Takeshita, and more, but it was widely reported that Allin would reign for a good time, not a long time. We also saw Allin pass out while applying the Scorpion Death Lock to Sammy Guevara during their “Collision” match, so the seed has been planted that his body is close to giving out, something that MJF is going to take advantage of.

While Allin has been working hard to defend the title and be a fighting champion, MJF has only had one match on “Dynamite” since his championship loss in a squash on April 15. MJF is fresh, and he’s going to be out for blood. A motivated MJF is a dangerous MJF, and he’s got a lot on the line on Sunday.

As for All In, if Will Ospreay emerges the winner of the Owen Hart Tournament, he’s going to need a heel to go one-on-one with to capture the gold for the first time at Wembley Stadium. Many of us amongst the 60% who believe MJF is winning at Double or Nothing also believe he’ll still be champion for that All In bout.

WWE Confirms Major Matches for ESPN Portion of Clash in Italy in Turin

WWE has officially revealed which matches will air during the ESPN broadcast window of Clash in Italy, placing a strong focus on both location and star power for the opening hour of the premium live event in Turin, Italy.

During the May 22 episode of SmackDown, it was confirmed that the first hour of Clash in Italy from the Inalpi Arena in Turin will air live on ESPN in the United States. At the same time, WWE announced that two of the biggest matches on the card will take place during that opening broadcast slot, ensuring immediate impact for viewers tuning in.

Roman Reigns will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu in a Tribal Combat match during the ESPN portion of the show. This bout comes after weeks of escalating tension between the two, building toward what is expected to be a physically intense showdown in Turin.

Also scheduled for the ESPN hour is Rhea Ripley defending the WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill. Their rivalry has quickly become one of the top programs heading into Clash in Italy, making it a key attraction for both the live crowd in Italy and the global audience watching the event.

By placing these two championship matches at the start of the show, WWE is clearly prioritizing a strong opening for Clash in Italy, particularly with the added exposure on ESPN. The strategy mirrors WWE’s recent approach of using major matches early in premium live events to capture and maintain audience interest across both television and streaming platforms.

Cody Rhodes vs. GUNTHER for the Undisputed WWE Championship has also been confirmed for the event in Turin, Italy, although it has not been announced as part of the ESPN broadcast portion.

Clash in Italy takes place on May 31 at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy, with the first hour airing on ESPN before the remainder of the event transitions to streaming platforms.

Blake Monroe Makes WWE SmackDown Debut in Backstage Segment

Blake Monroe Makes WWE SmackDown Debut in Backstage Segment

Blake Monroe has officially made her WWE television debut, appearing during the May 22 episode of SmackDown in a brief backstage interaction that set the tone for her main roster arrival.

The segment saw Chelsea Green walking backstage when she encountered Monroe. The former NXT Women’s North American Champion introduced herself and referenced seeing Green earlier in the night, adding that she wished she had not. Monroe then walked off, leaving Green confused before the moment quickly escalated.

Nia Jax suddenly stormed into the scene and slammed Green into nearby boxes, with Lash Legend joining in to mock her. WWE officials rushed in to break up the situation as the chaos unfolded, while Monroe was no longer involved following her initial introduction.

Monroe’s debut comes after weeks of anticipation. Vignettes promoting her arrival had been airing on SmackDown since WrestleMania 42, but she had yet to appear on television while several other NXT call-ups were introduced. A recent report from PWInsider indicated her debut was expected before the end of the month, and that timeline has now been met.

She had already competed in a dark match on the previous week’s SmackDown, where she defeated Jordynne Grace, signaling that her transition to the main roster was imminent.

Before signing with WWE in 2025, Monroe was known as Mariah May. She made her NXT debut in June and quickly rose through the ranks. By the end of the year, she captured the NXT Women’s North American Championship before eventually dropping the title to Thea Hail.

In the final stretch of her NXT run, Monroe was involved in a feud with Tatum Paxley over the championship. Their rivalry culminated in a coffin match on the April 14 episode of NXT, where Monroe came up short.

Her SmackDown debut marks the next step in her WWE career as she joins the growing list of recent NXT call-ups.
