WWE Raw Adds Fourth Match To Card For Upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event

With just days to go before Saturday Night’s Main Event special, the card is rounding out following a segment on “WWE Raw.”

Sol Ruca called Becky Lynch out to the ring after the IC champion blew her off backstage. When Lynch told Ruca that she belongs in “NXT,” she responded that she’s good at proving people wrong and challenged her on the spot. Lynch turned her down and says Ruca isn’t ready. She suggested Ruca think about whether she’s really ready to face her. If she is, then they’ll have a match at SNME, but she warned her, “I’m not just a star maker, I’m a star breaker.” Ruca wasn’t phased and replied that at Saturday Night’s Main Event, “not only when I snatch your soul again, I’ll snatch that title.” Lynch refused to put the women’s Intercontinental Championship on the line before leaving the ring, however, and the match was later confirmed as being non-title.

Lynch vs. Ruca comes less than a week after two matches were added to the lineup. The Vision will defend the World Tag Team titles against the Street Profits. Ethan Page will challenge Penta for the Men’s IC title. SNME is on May 23 from Fort Wayne, Indiana. It comes just one week before Clash in Italy and three weeks after Backlash. It is also the night before AEW’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view.

AEW’s Paul Wight Details Taking Care Of His Giant Frame

AEW’s Paul Wight, formerly known as Big Show in WWE, is one of the best-known giants in professional wrestling history. Fans may know that Wight was diagnosed with acromegaly, a rare growth disorder most often caused by a benign tumor near the pituitary gland, something he underwent surgery for at 19. The now 54-year-old star sat down on “High Performance” to chat about his life and career, and explained how he’s feeling and taking care of himself.

“The only thing now that’s tough is time, bones,” he said. “A lot of things that give you your gifts and your strength when you’re younger, the amazing athleticism and power and all that stuff, in time, you can’t carry that size and mass around, so you have to find a way to make yourself healthier. For me, at 385 [pounds] now, 350, 340 looks really healthy for me now. Another 30, 40 pounds off, it’s easier to move, walk more… I’d love to be able to go on a hike through the mountains. ‘You, hike?’ I’d like to know that I could if I wanted to.”

Wight said that he’s lucky that he didn’t have many bad side effects of acromegaly. He explained his joints are fine after two knee and hip replacements, and he doesn’t have the sinus issues often caused by acromegaly, either. Wight joked that he does have to deal with the “freakiness” of his size, and it’s difficult for him to buy gloves and watch bands.

The former Big Show’s most recent match came in July 2024 on the Jericho Cruise, where he scored a victory alongside Chris Jericho and “Speedball” Mike Bailey against the Don Callis Family.

Jacob Fatu Challenges Roman Reigns To Tribal Combat On WWE Raw, Reigns Accepts

World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu are set for the third-ever Tribal Combat match in WWE history as their intense feud continues on. The pair, alongside the Usos, opened Monday’s edition of “WWE Raw.”

Fatu called out Reigns, but instead, Jimmy and Jey Uso came out. Their interaction quickly led to a brawl, with Fatu locking in the Tongan Death Grip on Jimmy, but Jey nailed him with a chair shot. Reigns’ music then hit and he made his way down to the ring to confront Fatu with right hands.

Reigns tried to hit a Superman Punch, but Fatu got the Tongan Death Grip locked in on him instead. The Usos beat down Fatu and tangled him up in the ropes, where he was hit with multiple Superman Punches and double superkicks from his cousins. They untangled Fatu, only for Reigns to hit him with a spear, leaving Fatu laying in the ring.

“Raw” General Manager Adam Pearce came out, looking to fire Fatu after he failed to acknowledge Reigns, as was the deal following their Backlash match, but Fatu interrupted him by getting on the microphone and challenging Reigns to a Tribal Combat match. Reigns quickly accepted, and on commentary, Michael Cole mused that the match could take place at Clash in Italy, and the match was later confirmed for that PLE.

LA Knight’s Recent WWE TV Absence Reportedly Not Due To Injury Or Contract Dispute

Former WWE United States Champion LA Knight has been missing from “WWE Raw” since shortly after WWE WrestleMania 42, but according to a new report, the “Megastar” isn’t injured or involved in a contract dispute. The last time Knight was seen on WWE programming, he seemed to be starting a feud with GUNTHER, but plans have since changed.

According to Fightful Select, those they spoke to in WWE and others familiar with Knight’s situation said he is just off television, and his absence isn’t due to an injury post-WrestleMania six-man tag match, where he and the Usos emerged victorious. It is also not related to any of the recent releases following the event, and Knight also reportedly isn’t involved in a pay or contract dispute, after multiple stars were reportedly asked to take a pay cut following WrestleMania.

Fightful also confirmed that creative changed post-WrestleMania for a number of stars, presumably including Knight, as GUNTHER is now on “WWE SmackDown” and will challenge Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes for the gold at Clash in Italy. The outlet didn’t report any possible creative for Knight moving forward, and there was no word on when he may return.

Knight was last seen in the ring alongside Jimmy and Jey Usos at WrestleMania 42, in the opening match of night one. The team took on The Vision’s Austin Theory and Logan Paul, who teamed with IShowSpeed. After Paul turned on his former friend, Knight and the Usos helped Speed take out the heels. Knight was last seen on WWE TV on the “Raw” after WrestleMania, when he confronted GUNTHER in a backstage segment, where he said he was also after the World Heavyweight Championship.

Biggest Winners And Losers Of The Week — 5/18/2026

Things haven’t been the greatest for WWE overall since WrestleMania 42 night one first got underway, and one of the most underwhelming aspects of the product has been the women’s division, specifically the top title pictures on both “WWE Raw” and “WWE SmackDown.” WrestleMania saw Rhea Ripley become the new WWE Women’s Champion and Liv Morgan take the World Women’s Championship, and neither one has done much of anything over the last month. As WWE hurtles toward both Saturday Night’s Main Event and Clash in Italy, the lack of really anything in the women’s top title scenes has become much more noticeable.

Ripley, at least, has been involved with Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss on the blue brand, standing up against Fatal Influence, and now, they’re set to take on current champion Jade Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab in a six-woman tag match at SNME. Which is fine, but it’s not Ripley defending her title. Cargill called out Ripley for a match at Clash in Italy on the latest edition of “SmackDown,” but the champion was not even at the show to respond, so the match wasn’t made official.

Morgan has seemingly zero challengers right now on “Raw,” which is likely because former champion Stephanie Vaquer was injured and needed some time off. She might have been Morgan’s Backlash opponent, or perhaps her opponent at one of the upcoming events. However, WWE didn’t even bother to pivot to have Morgan face anyone else, and she’s just been involved in Judgment Day business rather than anything of her own. There haven’t been many women, if any, who have called out Morgan, which seems very strange and doesn’t make for an interesting women’s division on the red brand.

The latest report has Vaquer possibly back in the mix for Clash in Italy, but it doesn’t seem likely that WWE will have both Ripley and Morgan defend their titles at the premium live event. Neither champion has had a title defense since WrestleMania.

While this currently feels like a much bigger problem in WWE, AEW isn’t exempt from the “loser” aspect of women’s wrestling when it comes to its top title, either. The AEW Women’s World Championship match pitting three former women’s champions against Thekla feels rather thrown together, no matter how good Kris Statlander, Hikaru Shida, and Jamie Hayter are. AEW failed to establish a new challenger for Thekla going into one of their biggest events of the year, and the title picture just hasn’t recovered since Toni Storm was taken out back at the end of March.

Women’s wrestling fans are currently big ol’ losers right now, and hopefully both companies get things back on track for their top titles very soon.
