WWE’s Corey Graves Teases Carmella’s Return To Professional Wrestling

Although it’s his job to stay neutral when calling the play-by-play action in the WWE and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, Corey Graves’ commentary on whether his real-life wife and former SmackDown Women’s Champion Carmella will ever return to the squared circle is positively optimistic.

“I don’t think we’ve heard the last of her in this realm. Just, you know, we got some time,” Graves told veteran journalist Bill Apter.

Teases on the possibility of a comeback from “The Fabulous One” made its rounds last month, when the former four-time 24/7 Champion was informed by fans on social media that independent wrestler/pop star B3CCA was using Carmella’s Code of Silence move during her match on “AEW Collision: Playoff Palooza.” Replying to the unlikely tribute, the first-ever Women’s Money in the Bank winner wrote on X, “Hmmm.. there’s a difference between homage and theft… I didn’t retire, I had two babies… might have to come back and show these b***hes how it’s really done [with a money mouth emoji].”

It’s been three years since Carmella competed in the ring. Her last televised match was a singles defeat against Bianca Belair on the March 6, 2023 edition of “WWE Raw.” After working under the WWE banner for 12 years, her time with the company concluded on February 21, 2025. Prior to her departure and after, she has had two children. Graves told Apter that Carmella is “killing it” as a mother.

Eric Bischoff Talks Recent Development That Makes Him Respect AEW’s Tony Khan

Eric Bischoff hasn’t been shy to voice his criticism of Tony Khan as a booker, often blasting the creative direction of AEW. However, during an episode of his “83 Weeks” podcast, Bischoff expressed his respect for Khan in how he’s handled the ALS diagnosis of “Rebel” Tanea Brooks.

“Good on Tony,” Bischoff expressed. “I want to shoutout to Rebel, saw what she’s going through, and also heard her being grateful to Tony Khan, which makes me really respect the guy, so good on you, Tony!”

During an emotional social media post, Rebel shared her ALS diagnosis and expressed that while she’s not been given a timeframe at this stage, her condition is terminal. While she confirmed that she has had trouble walking and talking and that all of her functions will soon decline, she seemed hopeful for the future and having a chance to prepare for the inevitable.

Bischoff also praised Khan for not being as focused on the bottom line when it comes to AEW, and acknowledged how this has allowed Khan to support many of the people who work for him – like Rebel – during extremely difficult times. The Blade, another AEW talent, has gone on record in recent months to praise Khan for specifically keeping him employed while he’s had to deal with spinal fusion and several other back surgeries. The Blade claimed that AEW even took care of the surgery fees, physical therapy fees, and his day-to-day expenses for the past year.

WWE Reportedly In Heavy Talks To Bring Back Baron Corbin

WWE could be bringing back a familiar face, as new reports indicate the company has been in serious discussions with former Baron Corbin about a return.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that talks with the former WWE star have been ongoing in a major way, although he stopped short of saying an agreement has officially been finalized. Meltzer also suggested the discussions may connect to the ongoing mystery surrounding Danhausen and his recent “something bigger” teases on SmackDown.

“Probably back in WWE. I’ve not heard it’s a done deal, but I know it’s been talked about, yes.”

Meltzer went on to speculate that the mystery figure being hinted at on SmackDown could very well be Corbin himself.

“On the SmackDown show, when Danhausen was talking about something bigger, my gut was that that’s who it is. That’s just my speculation, but I just know that he’s been talked with about being brought in.”

He later clarified that while nothing has been officially confirmed to him as completed, discussions have absolutely taken place.

“It might even be done, but I haven’t had it officially confirmed to me it’s done. But I have 100% confirmed that it’s been heavily talked about.”

Since leaving WWE in November 2024 after his contract expired, Corbin has wrestled under the name “Nomad” Bishop Dyer. During that time, he has appeared for several promotions including National Wrestling Alliance, Game Changer Wrestling, Major League Wrestling, and Maple Leaf Pro. He also competed in an AEW dark match in January 2026.

Corbin previously admitted that a WWE comeback was always possible during an appearance on Pro Wrestling Boom Podcast.

“I would love to go to New Japan for multiple reasons, and the door never closes with WWE either.”

While away from WWE, he captured the MLW World Tag Team Championships alongside Donovan Dijak as part of The Skyscrapers. Outside the ring, he has also focused heavily on combat sports training, earning a Brazilian jiu-jitsu purple belt under Rolles Gracie Jr. and winning gold at the IBJJF Tampa International Open shortly after leaving WWE.

During his original WWE run, Corbin accomplished plenty, including winning the 2017 Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match, the 2019 King of the Ring tournament, the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, the United States Championship, and the NXT Tag Team Championships alongside Bron Breakker.

At this stage, WWE has not publicly addressed the report or confirmed Corbin’s status with the company.
