Jacy Jayne’s arrival on WWE’s main roster is already having an impact behind the scenes, as new details suggest the company is adjusting plans within the women’s division following the early success of Fatal Influence on SmackDown.

Joe Hendry has revealed that a full music project with WWE is officially on the way, confirming during a live appearance in Tampa that he has recorded an original album set for release later this summer.
Speaking at Insight with Chris Van Vliet’s live show, Hendry surprised fans with what he described as a brand new exclusive announcement that had not been shared publicly before. While discussing where he records his music, Hendry confirmed he has been working directly with WWE Music on a full-length release.
“So, I mean, actually, I could drop an exclusive right here for people. Because this is actually very relevant. So this is an exclusive. I haven’t told anyone anywhere, but I have recorded an album with WWE music. And it is, it’s going to drop this summer. And we recorded most of that in New York at the WWE Studios.”
Hendry explained that the majority of the project was recorded inside WWE Studios in New York. However, due to the fast pace required for his topical music releases, he has since recreated the same recording setup at home to streamline production.
“What I’ve done now is the microphones that we have there, I have basically replicated the setup back home now, so I don’t need to fly to New York to do it. I can send stuff in, and we can work on it back and forth. So that’s one of the things that makes these songs work, is because they’re they’re fast and they’re topical. So we can basically, like we obviously did the Logan Paul song on TV, but we were able to just get it done that week because we could send files back and forth.”
When asked if the upcoming release would simply compile songs fans already know from WWE television, Hendry clarified that the project will consist entirely of fresh material.
“Well, it is, I will say they are. They are all original songs. And I won’t say any more than that. They are all original songs.”
Music has been a major part of Hendry’s wrestling persona for years. Long before arriving in WWE, he built a reputation through parody songs and comedic musical segments across the independent wrestling scene and TNA Wrestling. One of his earliest viral efforts came in 2014 with a parody version of Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight” during his time in ICW.
His popularity exploded even further with “I Believe in Joe Hendry,” which became a viral sensation throughout 2024 and climbed both the UK iTunes and Spotify charts. Hendry noted that the music video has now accumulated around 12 million YouTube views, alongside millions more streams on Spotify.
After officially signing with WWE in November 2025, Hendry made his RAW debut on April 27, 2026, where he performed “Can We Fire Logan Paul?” live in the ring with an acoustic guitar. WWE later uploaded the performance as an official music video on YouTube.
Former WWE star Ronda Rousey has never been shy about sharing her dissatisfaction with some aspects of her two runs with the promotion, including feeling she wasn’t allowed to be herself on the microphone. But perhaps the biggest point of contention Rousey had with WWE was the failure of WWE to put together a high profile match Rousey wanted during her second stint. In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Rousey revealed she had pitched having a major singles match with rival Becky Lynch after their WrestleMania 35 match with Charlotte Flair. Rousey says WWE approved the idea, but then never went with it once she returned in 2022.
“After WrestleMania, I literally printed out a whole presentation for them, for me and Becky, the singles match,” Rousey said. “How we would do it, how we would plan it out and rehearse these things and have them woven throughout the show. To do something really exceptional and new. And then Vince and them were like ‘Oh yeah, this is a great idea, this is great.’ Then I went and had my baby, I came back, and they were like ‘Well, we talked about that a year ago.”
“They said ‘We love this plan, it’s an epic showdown with you and Becky that’s going to build all year.’ I wanted to make, basically, a final showdown of me and Becky woven throughout the entirety of the show. It would summarize the entire rivalry for anyone watching it for the first time. Someone could watch it and not need to watch everything that came beforehand. It would sum it up and then deliver the ending. I thought it was f*****g incredible and it was why I came back.”
Not only would the Rousey-Lynch match never happen, but the two never crossed paths again after Rousey’s return. Instead, Rousey would primarily feud with Flair, Liv Morgan, and former tag partner Shayna Baszler, who would defeat Rousey in her final WWE match at SummerSlam 2023.
Following WrestleMania 42, Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid of Fatal Influence made their debut on “WWE SmackDown,” and within weeks, they were pitted against some of the top female talent on the brand such as Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. Fatal Influence quickly impressed in the spotlight, with their heel characters carrying over the same level of heat they generated in the developmental brand, and it seems like they’re going to be rewarded for their work in the near future.
According to Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select, creative plans for Fatal Influence have started to change due to the quality of their performances and the crowd reaction they’re getting on a weekly basis. Many on the creative team have reportedly indicated that storylines in the women’s division have been rearranged in order to feature Jayne more prominently, especially after her singles matches against Ripley and Flair were well received backstage.
Although Jayne lost her first match on “SmackDown” to Ripley, she redeemed herself the following week when she defeated Flair. Additionally, last Friday, Fatal Influence picked up the victory against Ripley, Flair and Bliss in tag team action. Going forward, it remains to be seen if Jayne will be the next to challenge Ripley for the WWE Women’s Championship, and if the company is looking to accelerate the former “NXT” star’s push, she could be positioned to fight “Mami” as early as Saturday Night’s Main Event or Clash in Italy later this month.
This past weekend at WWE Backlash, John Cena appeared to announce a new event titled “The John Cena Classic,” where stars from the main roster and “WWE NXT” will compete in a tournament, and regardless of the result in the ring, the audience will decide who advances in the competition and ultimately wins a new title. Although Cena laid out the format of the tournament, there were no details about the time and place of the event, and it seems like there’s been no further developments about when the new show will transpire.
On Thursday, WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reported that “The John Cena Classic” is still a “work in progress” as a date or venue for the inaugural event has yet to be nailed down. So far, the only indication of a potential timeframe comes from one of WrestleVotes’ sources, who claimed that early December could be a possible target as it would not only line up well with WWE’s calendar, but would mark the one-year anniversary of Cena’s retirement match. Another source also said that Netflix is heavily interested in hosting “The John Cena Classic” on its streaming platform, but otherwise most areas of the entire concept have yet to be confirmed.
When Cena retired against GUNTHER last December at Saturday Night’s Main Event, he pitched to have “NXT” stars pitted against main roster talent on the undercard, which sparked further conversation of an event being dedicated to younger names challenging established wrestlers. On December’s edition of SNME, Oba Femi, Sol Ruca and Je’Von Evans were the featured “NXT” talent on the show, with all three stars now becoming official members of WWE’s main roster this year.
