WWE Raw Viewership & Ratings Report, 5/4/2026

Viewership for “WWE Raw” following WWE WrestleMania 42 continues to decline slightly after recently peaking at 3.3 million average viewers for the episode of the red brand following ‘Mania, despite a hot Bloodline angle leading into WWE Backlash. The main event of the May 4 episode saw World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu make their title match official, and ended with Reigns being sent through the table as Fatu had the Tongan Death Grip applied.

According to Wrestlenomics, with data from Netflix, the May 4 episode of “Raw” drew 2.7 million average viewers over the course of seven days, with 4.6 million hours of the show viewed over that time. Viewership was down from the previous week’s 2.8 million viewers, with 5.2 million hours of the show viewed, though that episode was around 11 minutes longer than the May 4 show.

“Raw” ranked seventh for the week amongst English TV shows globally for the week, and took eighth domestically. The top three shows in the US for the week included “Worst Ex Ever” season two, “Man on Fire,” and the “Lord of the Flies” limited series. “Funny AF with Kevin Hart” and “Running Point” season two followed “Raw” for the week.

In addition to the contract signing segment, the May 4 edition of “Raw” also saw Oba Femi make quick work of Otis in his open challenge and fellow “WWE NXT” alum Sol Ruca officially became a member of the red brand’s roster after a confrontation with Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch. JD McDonagh scored a win over Finn Balor and Joe Hendry got a disqualification victory over Austin Theory, thanks to Logan Paul interference.

Beyond The Mat Director Barry Blaustein Dies At 72

The man behind the “movie Vince McMahon didn’t want you to see,” Barry Blaustein, died at the age of 72 on Tuesday, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The news of his death was first reported by Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, where Blaustein was a professor.

The 72-year-old screenwriter, director, and producer reportedly died at his Los Angeles home. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Blaustein battled with Parkinson’s disease, which he was diagnosed with in 2017, and was also diagnosed with stage-four pancreatic cancer last month.

THR noted in its report that Blaustein called his wrestling documentary, “Beyond the Mat,” his “favorite thing he had ever done.” In addition to directing the 1999 film, Blaustein also wrote, produced, and narrated it. “Beyond the Mat” focused on the lives of Terry Funk, Jake Roberts, Mick Foley, and other aspiring wrestlers. Blaustein, who had been outed as a professional wrestling fan ahead of creating the documentary, wanted to understand the mindset of someone who had chosen to become a wrestler.

After seeing the film, McMahon wasn’t thrilled and pulled all advertising for it from WWF broadcasts and threatened to sue to prevent it from ever being seen, earning the movie its tagline, “The Movie Vince McMahon Didn’t Want You to See.” Blaustein said that the former chairman also told its wrestlers not to speak about the movie publicly. The documentary, however, was a hit, with multiple wrestlers praising it, including Roddy Piper and Hulk Hogan.

In addition to his well-received professional wrestling passion project, which was a finalist for the “best documentary” Oscar, Blaustein most notably also wrote for Eddie Murphy on “Saturday Night Live,” as well as co-wrote “Coming to America” alongside David Sheffield.

AEW’s Young Bucks Tease ‘A Lot Of Dream Matches’ That Could Happen In 2026

On August 30, All Elite Wrestling will return to London’s Wembley Stadium for All In. Along with it, the possibility of dream matches also returns, with fans especially eager for those involving The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson).

On the latest edition of “BTE Mail Bag,” The Young Bucks suggested that a number of potential tag team bouts could become a reality at All In 2026 and beyond. “There’s a lot of dream matches that might be able to happen,” Nick said. “So I guess we have a lot of cool future matches to look forward to.

“A lot of good stuff is cooking up,” Matt added.

Perhaps the most glaring possibility lies with The New Day’s Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, who recently departed from WWE after reportedly refusing to take a pay cut. In 2020, Nick Jackson went on record pinpointing a six-man bout pitting The New Day (Woods, Kingston, and Big E) against The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega as his ultimate dream match. In the process, Nick confirmed that the six-man match was actually close to materializing at one point. Earlier this week on “Being The Elite,” Matt revealed that a phone call between The Young Bucks and Paul “Triple H” Levesque took place in 2018 about the idea, but nothing solid ever came of it. Whether Kingston and Woods will sign with AEW in 2026 is currently unclear.

Given AEW’s working relationships, dream matches between The Young Bucks and stars from CMLL and/or New Japan Pro-Wrestling also exist as options. AEW could also work from within. Teases of a first-time faceoff between The Young Bucks and the team of Adam “Edge” Copeland and Christian Cage have notably presented themselves this year.

Cuatrero Formally Sentenced For Attempted Femicide Against WWE’s Stephanie Vaquer

Luchador El Cuatrero, whose real name is Rogelio Reyes, was formally sentenced on Tuesday for the attempted femicide of former WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer. Cuatrero was arrested and charged with domestic violence and attempted femicide back in March 2023, when Vaquer was CMLL Women’s Champion.

According to journalist Antonio Nieto on X (formerly Twitter), Cuatrero was sentenced to 12 years and eight months in prison after he was found guilty on the charges last week. Nieto noted that Cuatrero would serve 10 years and eight months, after already spending two years in prison following the crime. He will currently remain out on bail, and Nieto did not report when Cuatrero would have to surrender to serve the sentence.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson noted that Cuatrero could seek a reduction in time served for good behavior, under a provision in Mexican law. Johnson wrote that reports indicate the luchador would first have to complete half the sentence. Between that possibility and the two years already served, Cuatrero could possibly only spend around five years back behind bars.

Vaquer first accused her ex-boyfriend of domestic violence in early 2023 when she told police Cuatrero grabbed her by her neck and threw her following an argument. The luchadora was told her trachea had nearly been broken and graphic images from the scene showed bruises on her neck.

Cuatrero was released, with conditions, in April 2025 after spending years defending himself from prison. While he had initially not been allowed to return to wrestling, he began making appearances once again in March of this year, with his most recent match taking place for Desastre Total Ultraviolento on April 24.
