EVIL WWE Ring Name Revealed as Nox Raijin

EVIL WWE ring name has been confirmed as “Nox Raijin,” following his recent debut.

According to Fightful Select, the trademark filed for “Nox Raijin” is intended for EVIL, confirming the name he is expected to use moving forward in WWE.

During that debut segment, commentary — led by Vic Joseph — avoided formally naming him, instead using the word “evil” in a descriptive sense rather than introducing a new ring name. That left some uncertainty at the time, but the trademark filing has now effectively confirmed the direction WWE is taking.

Internally, the report notes that EVIL is currently listed under his real name, Takaaki Watanabe, suggesting the transition to “Nox Raijin” may be rolled out gradually on television.

The name itself carries a clear thematic identity. “Nox” refers to the Roman goddess of night, while “Raijin” is the Japanese god of thunder and lightning. The combination points to a character presentation built around darkness and destructive force, aligning with the persona EVIL established throughout his career.

Background and transition to WWE

Before arriving in WWE, EVIL spent 14 years in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, where he developed into a main-event level talent. He was a central figure in factions such as Los Ingobernables de Japon and later Bullet Club, adapting his character across different eras.

His peak came in 2020 when he captured both the IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental Championships at the same time, cementing his position as one of the promotion’s top stars.

EVIL’s contract with NJPW expired in January 2026, opening the door for his move to WWE. Prior to debuting, reports indicated that he specifically requested to start in NXT rather than being placed directly on the main roster. That approach allows for a controlled introduction and character development under the new identity.

He is also known to fans as the partner of Iyo Sky, further linking him to an established WWE presence.

With the Nox Raijin name now confirmed, WWE’s presentation for EVIL is beginning to take shape as he transitions into this next phase of his career.

Former Sportsnet Host Announces She’s Joined WWE NXT Broadcast Team

WWE has added a new member to its broadcast team, as Canadian sports host Emily Agard revealed that she has officially signed with the company.

After spending over four years working for Sportsnet, one of Canada’s largest sports networks, Agard is taking her broadcasting and hosting experience to “WWE NXT.”

“Dreams do come true! SO excited and beyond grateful to be joining the @WWE broadcast team. If you know me, you know this has been a huge goal of mine and an absolute dream. I love wrestling. Cannot wait to dive right in. Let’s get to work!”

Agard becomes the fourth on-air TV personality from Sportsnet to join WWE, following Canadian broadcasters such as Renee Paquette, Arda Ocal and Jackie Redmond. Agard has not been shy when it comes to her WWE fandom, having often been vocal about the product on social media and was seen attending tapings of “NXT” earlier this year. Additionally, when Montreal hosted the Elimination Chamber in 2023 from the Bell Centre, Agard served as a Social Media Ambassador for the event where she was featured on both WWE and Sportsnet’s digital channels.

At Sportsnet, Agard was responsible for reporting on the Toronto Blue Jays and often the host for many programs such as “Misplays of the Month” and “Plays of the Month.” Before WWE moved to Netflix in Canada at the beginning of 2025, Sportsnet exclusively held the company’s programming rights for 10 years.

Backstage Report On Original Creative Plans For LA Knight Following WWE WrestleMania

It was just a few weeks ago that LA Knight found himself in a prime position at WrestleMania 42, wrestling the opening match of Night One alongside The Usos as they defeated Logan Paul, Austin Theory, and IShowSpeed. But since WrestleMania 42, Knight has been out of sight and out of mind on WWE programming, wrestling no matches and notably being absent from any storylines, leading to many wondering what was going on with the former US Champion.

Now some answers have emerged. BodySlam+ reports that Knight wasn’t supposed to be absent from WWE TV during this period, as the promotion had planned for Knight to have a short program with GUNTHER. The feud was ultimately scrapped, however, with GUNTHER instead being moved into a program with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes on “SmackDown,” thus leaving Knight in the wind.

There is no word on if there are any plans for Knight beyond the GUNTHER feud, though it was stressed that remains with WWE. To that point, it was noted that Knight remains “in the mix with WWE right now,” including throwing out the first pitch at a Minnesota Twins game this past weekend in order to promote SummerSlam, which will be held in Minnesota this August.

Knight’s absence comes at a semi-chaotic time for WWE and its roster following the announcement of over 20 cuts nearly two weeks ago, and the announcement of further cuts this past Saturday in the former of Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, JC Mateo, and Tonga Loa. Despite the upheaval, Knight has never been rumored among those being let go by WWE, nor has he been connected to reports that several WWE were asked to re-negotiate their contracts in order to take pay cuts.

WWE HOFer Kevin Nash On Hulk Hogan Documentary: ‘Made Me Really F***ing Sad’

In 1996, Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall changed the face of WCW and established pro wrestling’s most dominant stable: The New World Order. Across their years in storylines together, Hogan formed real friendships with both Nash and Hall, making the loss of his two former stablemates weigh heavily on the surviving Nash.

In light of the recent four-part “Hulk Hogan: Real American” Netflix documentary, Nash shared his feelings on the series and his appearance in it.

“It made me really f***ing sad,” the veteran admitted during an episode of his “Kliq THIS” podcast.

Nash was then asked if the series portrayed Hogan in a fair light, and while he agrees it does, he took issue with one specific part that made him come across as a jerk. Nash says he claims in the documentary that when he first saw Hulk Hogan, he thought “I’m bigger than him, I’m better looking, I’m more athletic, f***, I can definitely do this.” Nash said it comes off like he’s “almost shunning” Hogan.

“I say that and then … it goes into the fact that I would never have gotten into this business, had I not seen Hulk Hogan live, and what an impact [he had on me],” he said.

Nash also admitted that his quotes are likely hard to navigate, as he’s always going on profanity-filled tirades while speaking. “I think I’m the leader in throwing f-bombs, and I’ve got like three clips,” he said.

El Hijo Del Vikingo Reportedly Suffers Injury During Lucha Libre AAA Episode

Last Saturday on AAA’s show, El Hijo del Vikingo faced Mini Vikingo —a 17-year-old carbon copy of his namesake. Earlier this year, Vikingo put his opponent in the hospital, leading to a grudge match in which Mini Vikingo was able to get his revenge by picking up a win. Unfortunately, El Hijo del Vikingo was apparently injured in the closing minutes of the match when he performed a Uranage from the top turnbuckle and landed on his shoulder.

On “Wrestling Observer Radio,” Dave Meltzer provided an update, saying Vikingo is scheduled for an MRI. Meltzer didn’t say when the MRI will occur. He confirmed it was a real injury and that fans could tell by the landing and because Vikingo was screaming in pain. He was able to finish the match, but was seen in a sling afterward.

As of this writing, El Hijo del Vikingo is still scheduled to face El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. at AAA Noche de Los Grandes for the AAA Latin American Championship on May 30. That show will also feature the Mask vs. Mask match between El Grande Americano and Original El Grande Americano.
