Damian Priest & R-Truth Defeat Fraxiom, Win Fourth WWE Tag Title Defense On SmackDown

Damian Priest and R-Truth defeated FrAxiom to retain the WWE Tag Team Championship during “WWE SmackDown.”

The match was made during the show after Priest misread a conversation between Truth, Axiom, and Nathan Frazer, challenging them to a title match as he believed that’s what they were discussing. He went on to find out they were discussing taxes, but FrAxiom didn’t hesitate to accept the challenge when it had been made.

Priest wound up plowing through the impromptu challengers to win the match, planting Frazer with South of Heaven and hitting a Razor’s Edge on Axiom to get the winning pinfall. FrAxiom had threatened to take the titles; after Truth hit shoulder tackles and the five-knuckle shuffle and set up for an Attitude Adjustment, he was distracted by Axiom, allowing Frazer to roll him up for the closest of two-counts.

After the match, Talla Tonga emerged to drop both members of FrAxiom followed by Priest and Truth. Solo Sikoa was barking those orders and went on to join Talla in the ring. Priest and Truth dethroned JC Mateo and Tama Tonga of the MFTs in March, having since retained the titles against Miz and Kit Wilson, Grayson Waller and Kofi Kingston, and then the MFTs once again before getting to this week’s bout with FrAxiom.

John Cena Looks Back On Early-Career WWE Feud With The Undertaker

Hearing Cena’s perspective impressed the Undertaker, who described his feedback as a “masterclass” in what young pro wrestling talent need to do, urging them to also bet on themselves like Cena did ahead of their feud, and do things without caring who it’ll offend.

“There’s a difference between [what I did and] going into business for yourself,” Cena added. “I was able to cut three vignettes on you, I went for it, I think I might have hit you with one AA, but you kicked my ass and beat me. I did not go into business for myself.”

Cena further emphasized that wrestlers need to focus on their character work and that there’s no need to go “into business” for themselves in order to do that. “I think there’s a fine line where performers overstep that line and are kind of like, ‘I want this thing to go this way.’ No, that’s not how it is. You just got to do your job the best way as you can,” Cena continued.

Despite their shared opinions on the business and their WrestleMania 34 and Vengeance 2003 clashes, Cena and Undertaker never had any prominent lengthy feuds, which Michelle McCool asked the two about. “There’s somebody else you’re gonna have to talk to, who was writing the program,” Cena simply said in response, suggesting that the decision was never his nor the Undertaker’s.

UFC HOFer Ronda Rousey Says Her Daughter Definitely ‘Wants To Fight’

Ronda Rousey has said her four-year-old daughter is already showing a desire to follow in her footsteps, with the UFC Hall of Famer training for a fight for the first time as a mother.

Rousey last fought in 2016 having suffered back-to-back knockout losses to Holly Holm and then Amanda Nunes before leaving UFC, going on to perform for WWE until leaving finally in 2023.

She had her first daughter, La’akea Makalapuaokalanipō, in September 2021 before finishing up with WWE and having her second daughter, Liko’ula Pā’ūomahinakaipiha, in January 2025.

With her return to MMA booked for May 16 against Gina Carano on Netflix, she was asked by “Us Weekly” how being a mother has changed the training camp experience.

“Pō loves being on the mat,” she explained about her eldest. “She’s gonna be so sad when we take the cage out, because it’s like a gigantic playpen for them, and she loves to watch me train.”

“She’s usually such a hyper kid,” she continued. “But man, when I’m training, she just sits there and watches, transfixed. She definitely wants to fight and has been asking me to.”

Rousey said that she had watched other kids practicing jiu-jitsu and said she wanted to do it too.

“I was like, ‘You will,’ I don’t want to push her in it too early,” she added.

Rousey herself is a second-generation judoka with her mother, AnnMaria, a gold medalist at the World Judo Championships in Vienna, Austria, in 1984. And an International Sports Hall of Famer inducted in 2016. Rousey’s husband, Travis Browne, is also a former MMA fighter last competing at heavyweight in UFC.
