Rebel Diagnosed with Terminal ALS After Two-Year Health Battle

Rebel has shared a deeply personal and difficult update regarding her health, revealing that she has been diagnosed with a terminal illness following a long period of uncertainty.

The AEW performer, known to fans as Rebel, took to social media on Friday to confirm that she has been diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis after a two-year medical journey to determine the cause of her symptoms.

In a heartfelt message, Rebel explained that the diagnosis came while she was preparing for lung surgery, as doctors had been investigating masses found on her lungs. After extensive testing, they were able to identify the underlying condition.

“Okay, here’s an update and hold on, because there’s a plot twist. First, I want to say thank you for all of your prayers because for those who know, it’s been a two year medical journey trying to find out what is wrong and finally, our prayers have been answered. The thing is, sometimes, we don’t want to hear that answer to our prayers. So, while I was waiting to have lung surgery for the masses on my lungs, the doctors finally found what’s going on. The doctors have diagnosed me with terminal ALS. There is not a lot of research behind ALS and we don’t know how long I have, but it explains why I have trouble walking and talking, all of my functions will soon decline. Now, we can pray for the future and what is to come. I want to say thank you to Tony Khan. Thank you to Tony Khan and AEW for supporting me on this medical journey. It has been a blessing that is unheard of. From the bottom of my heart, thank you and thank you to all of you for your prayers. Please continue to pray for a peaceful journey and a peaceful passing. I love you,” Rebel wrote.

ALS is a progressive neurological condition that affects nerve cells responsible for controlling voluntary muscle movement. Over time, it leads to loss of mobility, speech, and other essential functions. There is currently no cure.

Rebel also expressed gratitude to Tony Khan and All Elite Wrestling for their continued support throughout her health battle, noting that the assistance she received has been meaningful during an extremely challenging time.

Her message has drawn support from fans and members of the wrestling community, many of whom have followed her career over the years.

This remains an incredibly difficult situation, and thoughts are with Rebel and her loved ones as she continues to face this diagnosis.

TNA’s Ash By Elegance (FKA Dana Brooke) Reveals She’s Undergoing Surgery

Former TNA Knockouts Champion Ash By Elegance, the former Dana Brooke in WWE, revealed on social media on Friday that she is undergoing surgery. Elegance, who has been battling an injury or health issue that she has yet to reveal more about since a retirement scare in 2025, took to X (formerly Twitter) on Friday to reveal she was about to be taken off to surgery.

“Prayers up! Adds to my story I will share & hopefully help others going through what I am! Trust me you are not alone!” she posted, sharing a photo of her legs covered by blankets in a hospital bed. She didn’t offer any more information about what her procedure was addressing.

In Victory Road in September 2025, Elegance revealed she had to vacate the Knockouts Championship and step away from in-ring competition. She won the title at “WWE NXT” Heatwave earlier that year, dethroning then-champion Jacy Jayne in a triple threat match involving Masha Slamovich.

In her announcement, Elegance said that “life hands you curveballs,” and she was “no longer able to compete and do what she loves to do.” A battle royal for the title followed her announcement, which led to a match between Lei Ying Lee and Kelani Jordan for the title, where Jordan emerged victorious.

Elegance returned to action just five months later, in February, when she teamed with her Elegance Brand stablemates against then-champion Lei Ying Lee, Xia Brookside, and Indi Hartwell. Her most recent match came at TNA Rebellion on April 11, when the Elegance Brand defeated Mickie James, OBD, and Taryn Terrell in a Hardcore Country match.

Brock Rechsteiner, Cousin Of WWE’s Bron Breakker, Signs With NFL Team

Brock Rechsteiner, cousin of former WWE Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker, and son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner, has signed with the Tennessee Titans, according to “Big Poppa Pump” on social media. The elder Steiner took to X (formerly Twitter) on Friday to share a graphic regarding his son’s signing. The graphic comes from the Instagram account of US Sports Management.

Rechsteiner, a wide receiver, attended Jacksonville State and went undrafted before being signed to the Titans. According to ESPN statistics, last season, Rechsteiner caught 36 receptions for a total of 383 yards and five touchdowns. He also had three carries for 17 yards and one touchdown. Rechsteiner logged zero fumbles throughout his time with the Gamecocks.

The Titans announced on Thursday evening the team had signed 11 undrafted free agents, but Rechsteiner was not listed among them. The team has yet to announce his signing on their official social media.

It was reported back in January 2025 that Rechsteiner had been offered a Next In Line (NIL) deal with WWE. He signed the deal the following month. In March, Steiner said he believed that Breakker had talked his cousin into the deal, and his son was “having a great time.” While Rechsteiner has attended events like the Royal Rumble, and this year’s WWE WrestleMania alongside his dad in the crowd, he has not appeared on WWE programming like “WWE NXT,” and there are no reports of him ever visiting the WWE Performance Center during his college football days.

Rechsteiner isn’t the only professional football player in the family. Before signing with WWE, Breakker, a fullback, was signed after going undrafted by the Baltimore Ravens in April 2020. He was released in August 2020, and made his professional wrestling debut later that year.

Backstage Update On WWE Star Stephanie Vaquer’s Injury

Last month, Stephanie Vaquer lost the Women’s World Championship to The Judgment Day’s Liv Morgan at WrestleMania 42, and it seems like she won’t be stepping back inside the ring anytime soon.

This past Monday on “WWE Raw,” Vaquer was attacked backstage by Judgment Day member Raquel Rodriguez, causing many fans to believe that the “Dark Angel” would be continuing her feud with Morgan, but it was later reported that the purpose of the angle was to write the former champion off TV due to an injury. At first, Vaquer’s injury was said to be a high ankle sprain, but according to Dave Meltzer in a new edition of the “Wrestling Observer Newsletter,” “La Primera” actually suffered an AC joint sprain in her shoulder and is expected to be out of action for a significant amount of time. WWE also confirmed that Vaquer would be on the shelf for a while during “Raw” on Monday.

Meltzer continued to explain that Vaquer and Morgan were planned to have another match together and suggested that the company should pivot by having recent “WWE NXT” call-up Sol Ruca challenge for the Women’s World Championship instead. So far, there’s been conflicting reports on Vaquer’s return timeline, with some sources being hopeful that she can step back inside the squared circle by SummerSlam in August, while others claim that she could be healthy six weeks from now. Since signing with WWE in 2024, Vaquer has mostly been able to avoid being sidelined outside of hurting her ankle this past January, making the AC joint sprain her most severe injury so far.

WWE’s Cody Rhodes On Likelihood Of Match Against CM Punk: ‘Who Knows? It’s Difficult’

Now that the dust has settled from this year’s WrestleMania 42, and Cody Rhodes retained his Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton, he’s eyeing new competitors ready and hungry for a shot at his gold. One who is staying ready to write a new chapter in his career, CM Punk, teased for his opportunity at “The American Nightmare’s” established piece of hardware soon after “The Showcase of the Immortals.” Although Rhodes entertained Punk’s initial idea by telling him to name a time and a place, does Rhodes fancy this dream-like match with the same intensity as Punk does?

“A dream match that I’d like to be part of is probably myself vs. CM Punk. The likelihood of it happening – who knows?” the champion said on ESPN’s “3 Count” Q&A. “Wrestling has gotten more – it’s difficult, you know? We’re collaborators these days, so it’s difficult. I don’t know if he’d want that and I don’t even know if I would want it, but I know it just would be really great and be very good for wrestling.”

Punk’s throne as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion toppled after “The OTC” Roman Reigns reclaimed his relevancy on night two of WrestleMania 42 on April 19. As of this report, neither Punk nor Rhodes are scheduled to compete at WWE’s next PLE (premium live event), Backlash, next Saturday, May 9. Rhodes is set to kick things off on tonight’s episode of “WWE SmackDown.”
