Jake Paul Intrigued By Idea Of Fight With Former UFC Heavyweight Champion

Jake Paul has only been a professional boxer for a little under six years, but the former Disney Channel star has already faced some of the biggest names in combat sports, including a number of current and former MMA fighters. Paul was recently interviewed by TMZ Sports ahead of his MVP organization hosting its first-ever MMA card on May 16, a card that features former UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou, who Paul has talked a little bit of trash to over the years. While Paul isn’t ready to get back into the ring yet after being knocked out by Anthony Joshua in December, a fight with Ngannou intrigues him because Francis only lasted two rounds with Joshua, while Paul lasted six.

“Him getting knocked out unconscious by Anthony Joshua in like one or two round, and then seeing me just take on Anthony Joshua for six rounds, obviously I ended up on the canvas too but not unconscious, I think he realized ‘Oh snap, this kid is actually a lot better than I thought.’ I think there’s a chip on his shoulder that I went three times as long as him, and them I’m sitting there talking smack to him. So I think me versus Francis is an amazing fight, moving forward [that] is something that’s on my list…I’m still intrigued man. I mean anybody can get it, my hands are tri-sexual, I can try anyone, I can try anyone once.”

Paul had his jaw broken at the hands of Joshua and hasn’t been in the ring, or even in the gym to spar since. However, Paul gave an update on his condition, stating that he could be ready to fight again by the end of the year. “I’m finally feeling healthy again. The jaw is definitely recovering, and I think once I can get cleared to spar, we will see. You know what that’s like with talking to the doctors and going back in for some CAT scans, but we will see. I think it’s either late 2026 or early 2027, but I’m eager.”

Paulo Costa Puts Two Champions On Notice Following UFC LHW Debut

Paulo Costa returned to the UFC light heavyweight division on April 11 at UFC 327 with an emphatic victory over undefeated prospect Azamat Murzakanov, putting the Russian down with a head kick in the third round.

Despite only just joining the ranks at 205 pounds, Costa is now ranked in the top ten and is already throwing his name into the hat for a potential title shot against Carlos Ulberg. Costa spoke to Maddyn Johnstone-Thomas after his victory at UFC 327, and he put the “Black Jag” on notice. “Congrats Carlos, but I’m here as well.” Costa might have to be patient when it comes to facing Ulberg as the “Black Jag” looked to have suffered an injury in his title win, with many believing that it is a torn ACL that Ulberg suffered.

Costa went on to say that he wants to face the best in the world now that he feels better than ever at 205 pounds, which brought him on to the topic of Khamzat Chimaev, the current UFC Middleweight Champion. The two men have had bad blood for some time, and when he was asked who he would like to face next knowing that Ulberg might be injured, Costa turned his attention to Chimaev. “I have a beef with Chimaev, I call him ‘Gourmet Chi-Chain,’ I’d like to fight him. We can do it here [at light heavyweight] or wherever the UFC thinks it’s going to be an exciting fight.”

Chimaev will be in action next month at UFC 328 when he looks to make his first defense of the UFC Middleweight Championship against Sean Strickland. Whether Costa will get his wish if Chimaev emerges with the gold remains to be seen.

WWE Releases WrestleMania 42 Saturday Cold Open Narrated by Lin-Manuel Miranda

WWE Releases WrestleMania 42 Saturday Cold Open Narrated by Lin-Manuel Miranda

WWE has unveiled the official cold open for WrestleMania 42 Saturday, with Lin-Manuel Miranda providing the narration just days before the event.

The video sets the tone for Saturday’s show by reflecting on past WrestleMania moments while building anticipation for the matches scheduled this year. Miranda’s narration highlights the scale of the event and the lasting impact of its biggest moments.

“It’s something you can’t really explain. That feeling when the lights come on, the crowd roars, and you realize there’s no bigger stage than this. No brighter lights. No higher stakes. No louder crowd. And no second takes. It happens once, and it’s forever. Because memories are made in this ring. And we — you and me, the fans — we get to be there for the moments we’ll never forget.”

The opening continues by referencing several iconic WrestleMania moments and stars, connecting them to the current generation set to compete at WrestleMania 42.

“We were there when the Irresistible Force met the Immovable Object. We were there when it seemed impossible until it happened. When legends took their final bows. When Seth shocked the world. When Cody finished his story and made his dad proud. And years from now, decades from now, our kids will tell their kids that we were alive and we were there. When Punk fought Roman for the title. When La Primera confronted La Guerita. When the Voices tried to squash The Nightmare. When Jade and Rhea stood face-to-face. When Oba stepped onto the stage, the biggest stage of them all, for the very first time.”

The video closes by emphasizing the unpredictability of WrestleMania and the shared experience between performers and fans.

“There’s no way to know exactly what drama lies ahead. But we know that we’re here for the pops and the surprises. The memories that will last a lifetime. We are here. We are alive. No second takes. Lights up. The curtain’s about to rise. Welcome to WrestleMania.”

Miranda, known for his work on “Hamilton,” is a longtime wrestling fan and has collaborated with WWE before, including appearing in a WrestleMania promotional video earlier this year.

With WrestleMania 42 approaching, the release of the cold open adds to the final push toward WWE’s biggest event, setting the stage for Saturday to begin.

Cody Rhodes Destroys Pat McAfee Studio With a Baseball Bat

Cody Rhodes Destroys Pat McAfee Studio With a Baseball Bat

Cody Rhodes escalated his rivalry with Pat McAfee in a dramatic way, appearing at McAfee’s studio and destroying parts of the set just days before WrestleMania 42.

During The Pat McAfee Show, McAfee revealed security footage showing Rhodes entering the Thunderdome-style studio and attacking the setup with a baseball bat. The footage captured Rhodes damaging equipment, including a computer, before retrieving the Undisputed WWE Championship and leaving the scene.

McAfee addressed the incident at the start of the show, making his reaction clear.

“A person whose self-proclaimed name is the American Nightmare, is just that. He’s a criminal. Last night, obviously, something devastating happened to our entire Thunderdome.”

The footage then aired, showing Rhodes walking into the studio, striking parts of the set, and taking back possession of the title belt.

McAfee continued to describe the situation, pointing out the damage caused during the incident.

“And on his way out, while DaBone is doing nothing yet again, he spikes my computer, my only computer. So Cody just walks out, no problem. Then he goes on Instagram and posts a video of himself leaving, playing my song while boarding a plane.”

The segment adds another layer to the ongoing storyline involving Rhodes, Randy Orton, and McAfee. Rhodes’ actions send a direct message ahead of his Undisputed WWE Championship defense against Orton at WrestleMania 42.

McAfee is set to be in Orton’s corner for the match, having previously been revealed as the person Orton had been communicating with in recent weeks. He has also been part of the narrative surrounding WrestleMania ticket sales, placing blame on Rhodes during recent appearances.

With tensions continuing to rise, this latest development intensifies the feud heading into one of the main events of WrestleMania 42. Rhodes reclaiming the championship belt and targeting McAfee’s environment signals that the conflict is expanding beyond the ring as the event approaches.
