Former UFC Star Mark Hunt Arrested For Domestic Violence In Australia

Former UFC heavyweight, notably Brock Lesnar’s last opponent in MMA, Mark Hunt was arrested on Tuesday in the Northern Rivers region of Australia.

The “Sydney Morning Herald” first reported that Hunt was taken into custody by police following a call-out on Tuesday evening, later being taken to Ballina Police Station to be charged with one count of stalking or intimidation with intent to cause physical harm. He was refused bail ahead of a court appearance on Wednesday.

Hunt began his fighting career as a kickboxer with K-1 starting in 2000, fighting until 2008 before making his transition to MMA.

The 52-year-old forged an eight year career with UFC after debuting in 2010, recording an 8-8-1 (1 NC) run and an overall 13-14-1 (1 NC) record in MMA. His sole No-Contest came after fighting to a loss against Brock Lesnar at UFC 200 in 2016, Lesnar tested positive for performance enhancers afterwards to overturn the decision.

Hunt sued the UFC, its President Dana White, and Lesnar in 2017, but eventually the Ninth Circuit of Appeals upheld the ruling in favor of the defendants in 2025. Hunt last fought in November 2022 with a boxing fight with former Rugby player Sonny Bill Williams, scoring a round four victory to notch his first win under Queensberry Rules after four fights.

Dana White Says UFC White House Card ‘Isn’t About Politics’

The UFC White House card is one of the biggest talking points in mixed martial arts these days, whether it be the card itself, the fact that President Donald Trump will be attendance once again, or the fact that it’s taking place on Flag Day rather than the Fourth of July. However, with the fact it’s taking place at the White House, the political aspect of the event is always a hot topic, causing some fans to question where the UFC and those in charge of the company stand in such a hostile climate.

UFC President Dana White doesn’t see it that way, and after claiming he isn’t a political person and that the speeches he has done at Republican conventions aren’t political, he doubled down on this idea during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” by saying that UFC Freedom 250 has nothing to do with politics.

“This is the UFC’s gift to the 250th birthday of America,” White said. “I think one of the myths that I would like to crush is, I don’t care if you’re far right, far left, right down the middle, wherever you sit politically, because everybody sits somewhere politicly these days. This isn’t about politics, this is about the United States, what this country was about, how it was built, where we all came from. If you love America, you’re going to love this event. It has nothing to do with politics, we just happen to be on the White House lawn and the President of the United States will be there.”

Another worry for some people has been with it the event taking place at the White House that taxpayers money would be used to fund it, especially given the magnitude of the show and the strength of the card. However, White assured everyone that it’s actually the UFC who will be paying for the event. “We’re paying the entire bill on all of this. Everything that you’re seeing, not one dollar of taxpayer money will go into this.”

Post UFC 327 Rankings Update, New P4P Entry

The UFC rankings determine who faces who inside the octagon, particularly in the various title pictures across the different weight divisions, and coming out of a newsworthy UFC 327 on April 11, there has been a lot of movement.

One of the biggest movements was the new UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Carlos Ulberg not only taking his place atop of the 205 pound division after beating Jiri Prochazka, but he is now officially in the UFC Men’s Pound for Pound rankings. He just about squeezes in at 15th place, with Arman Tsarukyan being bumped up two places to 13th as a result.

Sticking with the light heavyweight division, Paulo Costa made his return to 205 pounds in style by handing Azamat Murzakanov his first loss of his career with a head kick in the third round. Costa enters the top ten rankings at light heavyweight sitting in seventh, while also dropping to 15th in the middleweight rankings as a result. Dominick Reyes also moves up to ninth after his win over Johnny Walker who drops to 14th, Alonzo Menifield enters the top 15 at 15th, and as a result of the shuffling around at 205 pounds, both Jan Blachowicz and Jamahal Hill move up to fourth and sixth respectively.

In the heavyweight division, Josh Hokit’s slugfest with Curtis Blaydes not only earned him $200,000 in bonuses, but his victory over “Razor” has landed him inside the top five of the heavyweight rankings. Hokit sits in fifth place now with Blaydes dropping to joint-sixth along with Serghei Spivac, while the rest of the top 15 drop down one spot.

Rounding out the major movements, Mateusz Gamrot moves up one spot at lightweight to be ranked seventh at 155 pounds. Aaron Pico’s victory over Patricio Pitbull lands him in the top 15 at featherweight where he is ranked 13th, while Pitbull moves down to 15th, and Tabatha Ricci is officially tied for seventh in the women’s strawweight rankings with Amanda Lemos.

Details On Curtis Blaydes Injuries Following UFC 327 Loss

Of all the major talking points coming out of UFC 327, the one fans were most excited to talk about was the heavyweight showdown between Curtis Blaydes and Josh Hokit. The two men went to war for 15 minutes in what many fight fans are already calling one of the greatest heavyweight clashes in UFC history, but in the end, it was Hokit who came away with the hard-fought victory.

Given the amount of punishment both men sustained in the fight, it was only natural that they came away with some injuries. Blaydes’ management team told ESPN that after the fight, it was confirmed that Blaydes suffered a fractured orbital bone, as well as a fractured nose during the fight. As for Hokit, it has already been confirmed that he suffered injuries to his jaw and hand during the fight, and was checked out for a possible concussion, which makes sense given the two men landed a combined 351 strikes across three rounds. To give a silver lining to both men, they were both awarded Fight of the Night bonuses of $100,000 each, with Hokit earning an extra $100,000 after being awarded a Performance of the Night bonus.

Blaydes’ management team didn’t give an update as to when their man will be back in the cage, but when he does make his return, he will be looking to bounce back from such a tight defeat. As for Hokit, he was added to the White House card on June 14 as a result of his performance, where he will take on Derrick Lewis at the request of Donald Trump.
