Jorge Masvidal Says UFC Stopped Talks With MVP For Spot On Ronda Rousey Netflix Card

Jorge Masvidal revealed that he was originally offered Nate Diaz’s spot on the MVP-promoted Ronda Rousey-Gina Carano card streaming on Netflix in May.

The full card boasts the likes of former UFC Heavyweight Champions Francis Ngannou and Junior Dos Santos, the former fighting Philipe Lins and the latter facing the reigning Karate Combat Heavyweight Champion Robelis Despaigne.

Nate Diaz also marks his return to MMA with a fight against fellow UFC alum Mike Perry, though Masvidal said on his “Death Row MMA” YouTube channel that the spot originally belonged to him.

“So I got offered a fight on this card, I had a very nice offer from Netflix. But UFC had other plans for me,” he said, continuing to explain that the MVP talks led to UFC’s laying out their plan for him to him.

“I was talking to Nakisa [Bidarian, MVP co-founder], I get along very well with Nakisa, nothing but love for him for even thinking of me and calling me up and stuff. But it just didn’t work out. So I had the first offer before they gave it to Nate. And I desperately wanted to take the fight. But UFC has a good plan for me, and they told me the plan. I like it and we’re gonna see it through now.”

Masvidal has not fought in UFC since a 2023 loss to Gilbert Burns, marking his fourth in a row since 2020, his last win coming against Diaz in 2019 for the BMF Championship. Since 2023, Masvidal fought Diaz to a Majority Decision loss in boxing in 2024, and had a grappling match scheduled against Shara Magomedov for Hype FC earlier this month, but that was canceled.

WWE Raw Viewership & Ratings Report, 3/16/2026

“WWE Raw” hit three million views once again, this time for its March 16 episode, two weeks after it last hit the mark on Netflix. The show saw plenty of storylines move forward on the “Road to WrestleMania,” and one major match became official when Oba Femi laid out Brock Lesnar.

According to Wrestlenomics, with data from Netflix, the March 16 episode of the red brand hit three million global views over the course of seven days, with 5.9 million hours of the 116-minute show watched. The global views were up from 2.8 million the previous week, where five million hours of the 101-minute episode were watched over the course of a week. The most-watched episode of the year over the seven day timeframe remains the January 5 edition of the show with 3.2 million views, marketed as a special episode due to “Raw’s” one-year anniversary on the streaming platform.

“Raw” ranked eighth for the week globally, and third in the United States. In the states, the episode was beat out by the seventh season of “Virgin River” and the second season of Tyler Perry’s “Beauty in Black.”

In addition to the segment that saw Femi lay out Lesnar with a Fall from Grace powerbomb after Lesnar attempted to take out Seth Rollins, “Raw” also saw AJ Lee successfully defend her Women’s Intercontinental Championship over Bayley. Elsewhere, Penta retained the IC title over Dragon Lee, and Nattie tapped out Maxxine Dupri. The main event segment saw Roman Reigns address his WrestleMania 42 opponent, World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, in a promo that saw Reigns get hit with the microphone after calling Punk “old.”

WWE NXT Star Possibly Injured At Live Event Ahead Of Planned Match Tonight

Worries grew over the weekend as fans reported that “WWE NXT” stars Lexis King and Elio LeFleur had both sustained physical damage in the ring, so much so that the referee threw up an “X” to signal potential injury and an end to their live event match. In LeFleur’s case, he appeared to hurt his arm upon colliding with the turnbuckle.

Days removed from the scene, Fightful Select is reporting that LeFleur did indeed sustain an arm injury at the live event, with the Men’s Speed Champion then being put in a sling afterward. The severity of LeFleur’s injury as well as his current in-ring status are unclear, though as of this afternoon, WWE was still advertising him for an NXT Tag Team Championship contenders tournament match on the March 24 edition of “NXT.”

There, LeFleur and Eli Knight are slated to take on The Culling’s Shawn Spears and Niko Vance. The winners of this bout will then move on to face Birthright next Tuesday. Vanity Project will defend the NXT Tag Team Championships against the tournament victors at “NXT” Stand & Deliver in St. Louis on April 4.

The aforementioned “NXT” live event, centered in Lakeland, Florida on March 20, featured an eight-man tag match pitting Birthright (King, Charlie Dempsey, Uriah Connors, Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo) against LeFleur, Kale Dixon, Eli Knight, and Tavion Heights. Amidst the action, King reportedly “got knocked silly,” leading to concussion concerns. Fortunately, he was said to be “feeling okay” after. Whether or not that means he will appear on “NXT” has also yet to be seen.

WWE NXT Results 3/24 – Number One Contenders Gauntlet Match, Ricky Saints Faces Tony D’Angelo & More

Welcome to Wrestling Inc.’s live coverage for “WWE NXT” on March 24, 2026, coming to you live from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida!

With “NXT” Stand & Deliver right around the corner on April 4, Myles Borne will be finding out who will be challenging him for the North American Championship at the upcoming Premium Live Event as several undisclosed competitors take part in a Number One Contenders Gauntlet Match. Borne’s most recent televised defense of the North American Championship came on the March 3 episode of “NXT” when he retained against former titleholder Ethan Page.

Former NXT Champion Ricky Saints will be in action as he collides with former North American & Tag Team Champion Tony D’Angelo. As cracks began to form in the alliance between Saints and the aforementioned Page due to both men’s interest in getting a shot at Joe Hendry’s North American Championship, Hendry appeared to confront the duo. A brawl then broke out between all three men, with D’Angelo suddenly appearing to leave them all laid out.

The Number One Contenders Match for the NXT Tag Team Tournament will be continuing tonight to determine who will be the next challengers for the title currently held by Vanity Project, as Shawn Spears and Niko Vance of The Culling square off with Eli Knight and reigning Speed Champion Elio LeFleur. Not only did Birthright’s Uriah Connors and Heritage Cup Champion Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo advance in the tournament last Tuesday when they emerged victorious against Hank Walker and Tank Ledger, but Knight stepped in for Sean Legacy as LeFleur’s tag team partner last Tuesday when Legacy revealed he was unable to compete due to an injury.

Wren Sinclair dethroned Fallon Henley as Women’s Speed Champion last Tuesday to win her first ever title in WWE. Tonight, Henley looks to seek some retribution as she teams up with her Fatal Influence stablemate Lainey Reid to take on Sinclair and her WrenQCC stablemate Kendal Grey in tag team competition.

Kelani Jordan and Thea Hail will be returning to action as they go one-on-one with each other. Both women will surely be motivated to score a win tonight coming off recent losses, with Jordan coming up short to Lola Vice in an “NXT” Underground Match at “NXT” Vengeance Day on March 7 and Hail being unable to emerge victorious against the aforementioned Sinclair in the finals of a Women’s Speed Championship Number One Contenders Tournament on the March 10 episode of “NXT”.

Brock Lesnar Says He Came Back To WWE ‘For A Short Time’ To Feed His Kids

Now several months into his controversial return to WWE at SummerSlam last August, Brock Lesnar is once again in the full swing of things, including being set for a WrestleMania 42 match with up and coming star Oba Femi. But now at 49 years old, and still engulfed in the Janel Grant lawsuit against Vince McMahon, which accuses McMahon of sex trafficking, abuse, and attempting to sex traffic Grant to Lesnar, this recent run for Lesnar seems unlikely to last longer than a couple more years. And it seems no one is more aware of that than Lesnar himself.

On Tuesday, Lesnar was interviewed by the hockey podcast “Spittin Chiclets,” and talked about his wrestling career leading up to this point. Contrasting now being a veteran in the locker room compared to his earlier years, Lesnar proceeded to make some interesting statements regarding why he chose to return to WWE after his two year hiatus, seemingly ignoring the Grant lawsuit or its role in his absence. Instead, Lesnar claimed his return was due to his family, while also insinuating that fans shouldn’t expect to see him around for a long time.

“I went back to work so I could feed my kids,” Lesnar said. “You guys should see my grocery bill. So yeah…no, I left the company years ago. And I’m grateful that I’m back for a short time here. I’m really grateful for all the opportunities that I’ve had in my life.”

Lesnar didn’t clarify whether he meant he would be retiring following this run with WWE, or if he would simply return to hiatus with the potential to return again further down the line. The uncertainty of Lesnar’s status will likely add more intrigue to his Mania match with Femi, which former WWE stars Matt Hardy and Rikishi have said Femi should win.
