Eddie Hall Teases Summer MMA Return, Dillon Danis Fight

Former World’s Strongest Man, Eddie Hall, has said he is looking to return to MMA for his second fight in the summer.

The 2017 World’s Strongest Man winner has spent his post-Strongman career exploring different competitive and combat sports, arm wrestling Brian Shaw to defeat in 2024 and losing a boxing fight against fellow former World’s Strongest Man and The Mountain from “Game of Thrones,” Thor Bjornsson, in 2022.

He made his first foray into MMA with an unofficial Two-on-One spectacle against influencers Jamil and Jamel Neffati, knocking them both out to win, in 2024. And then last year he made his professional MMA debut against Mariusz Pudzianowski in Polish MMA promotion KSW, winning via ground-and-pound KO within the first 30 seconds of the bout.

Now he says that he is shaping to return to the cage later this year, hoping to have a big-name fight in June and then once more before the end of the year.

“I’ve got a big fight lined up later in the year, which I can’t say just yet,” Hall told “Duelbits” (via “Bloody Elbow”). “But keep your eyes peeled. I’m hoping to have a big-name fight in June and then again before the end of the year.”

Hall named Dillon Danis as a potential opponent, specifically for his controversial nature in the sport.

“I really want to fight Dillon Danis, he’s got to be the most hated guy in MMA. I can’t believe how arrogant he is. He says that he seriously thinks he can take me, but he’s deluded. Danis is definitely running scared. If he wasn’t, then he would’ve signed a contract to fight me by now.”

Danis has a 3-0 record in MMA, fighting for Bellator and Misfits, and lost a boxing exhibition to Logan Paul after getting disqualified for unsportsmanlike conduct. He is due to wrestle former UFC Interim Welterweight Champion Colby Covington at RAF 07 later this month.

UFC’s Jorge Masvidal Believes He Can ‘Save A Lot Of Lives’ With FBI Partnership

Jorge Masvidal has said he feels like he can save lives after training FBI students in Quantico with the UFC.

The UFC’s partnership with the FBI drew something of a mixed response, with Director Kash Patel catching flak for treating the event as a convention in a custom tracksuit, and The Onion writing a satirical piece parodying the entire deal.

But from within the situation was Masvidal, and he feels that the opportunity to train aspiring agents in de-escalation is important.

“As you already know, your boy’s been invited to Quantico, headquarters of the FBI. They want me to teach people how to subdue perpetrators, and all things like that,” Masvidal said. “Not to be cliche or corny, but I think I can save a lot of lives, you know? Because if they could de-escalate a situation and learn to how to subdue somebody properly. Maybe it doesn’t have to get to that point to fire their weapon.”

Masvidal has not fought in MMA since losing his fourth fight in a row against Gilbert Burns in 2023. His last win came via doctor stoppage to beat Nate Diaz for the BMF Championship in 2019, though he lost to Diaz when they met in a boxing fight in 2024. He had announced his retirement from MMA after losing to Burns, but remains signed to UFC and re-entered the testing pool last year indicating an openness to continue.

Eddie Hearn: Tom Aspinall’s UFC Contract Is A ‘F***ing Disgrace’

Eddie Hearn had a grim assessment of UFC Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall’s contract with the MMA promotion.

Hearn signed Aspinall as the inaugural client of Matchroom Talent Agency, marking the boxing promoter’s first foray into MMA as a business manager to the UFC’s heaviest champion.

But the move also came after UFC President Dana White had signed Conor Benn for $15 million to turn him away from Matchroom Boxing to Zuffa Boxing, starting a quasi-feud between the promoters.

The latest round of digs came via Hearn’s interview with “Pro Boxing Fans,” during which he took issue with the MMA media for not asking what he felt to be the important questions.

“What you should be saying is, ‘Are you actually considering the problem that you have right now? Are you actually going to look at fighter pay in the UFC?’,” he said.

Hearn added about Aspinall, “Because I represent the UFC World Heavyweight Champion. I’m going to bite my tongue a little bit for now. But what I will tell you is his contract is a f***ing disgrace. A disgrace.”

He said he couldn’t believe the money Aspinall is on when looking at the commercial revenue a fight between him and Alex Pereira or a rematch with Ciryl Gane would generate.

“Honestly, if I’m Tom Aspinall, I’m looking at that contract. I go, ‘I don’t even think you should f***ing bother,'” he continued. “The time you’ve paid your tax return and paid your team, there’s no f***ing point in fighting.”

Despite that, Hearn said that Aspinall wants to come back. He wants to rematch Gane and he wants to fight Pereira, ultimately wanting to defend his UFC Heavyweight title. Aspinall has resumed training following his eye surgeries at the beginning of the year.

Dave Meltzer Breaks Down Viewership & Social Media Metrics For AEW Revolution 2026

At the time of writing, it’s been almost a week since AEW Revolution 2026 took place and fans are still buzzing over what they witnessed in Los Angeles, California. The show received rave reviews from those in attendance and from people who watched at home, resulting in the fallout episode of “AEW Dynamite” earning its highest TV rating in nine months. In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer spoke openly about the ins and outs of the show from a financial standpoint, as well as how important the social media engagement and pay-per-view buys were to its success.

In terms of the pay-per-view buys, Revolution 2026 was an overwhelming success according to Meltzer. He reported that the show earned the most buys since All In Texas in July 2025, and while he didn’t know the exact number, he was able to confirm that the buys were up 27% from All Out and Full Gear in September and November 2025. With that said, given that Revolution was the first AEW pay-per-view of the year, and the first since December 2025, Meltzer believes that this show won’t be topped until potentially All In London in August. Going beyond 2025, Meltzer went as far to say that Revolution 2026 was the most successful non-All In show AEW has produced since Revolution 2024, which featured Sting’s retirement match.

As far as Google searches and social media engagement, the day of Revolution 2026 saw the most AEW related searches since the first All In London pay-per-view in August 2023. With that said, Meltzer did note that the appearance of Ronda Rousey was a big factor in that metric, taking up six of the top ten searches about AEW in the past week, including the top four, with comedian Wayne Brady taking the number five slot as he was involved in The Infantry’s match with Big Boom AJ and QT Marshall on the Zero Hour pre-show. Speaking of Zero Hour, the show didn’t air on HBO MAX for most customers, one of many problems the service had while streaming the show, which led to people ordering the show from other places. However, HBO MAX did set its record for most AEW pay-per-view buys since the service starting streaming the shows.
