When Cody Rhodes made his return to WWE in 2022, one of his primary goals was to win the company’s top championship – something his father, Dusty Rhodes, was never able to do. Over the last four years, Cody accomplished that and more. During a recent appearance on “Insight with Chris Van Vliet,” he was asked to share his thoughts on the fact that his accomplishments have surpassed his dad’s.

“Mr. Heyman told me that, and I thought, ‘He might be the one guy I believe it [from],” Rhodes said. “I mean, they’re still doing things of his today, and there’s a whole fandom that will never even know they were his brainchild, or something that he – like, this was a silly one, but for example, the cage lowering [little by little], that’s a Dusty thing. These production things are still in play. I appreciate you saying it. I think I have a lot more to do.”

Among Rhodes’ many WWE accomplishments over the last several years is his winning the King of the Ring tournament in 2025. Rhodes said it was a prize that he desperately wanted, and he celebrated the victory accordingly.

“I don’t ride on the WWE charters anymore coming back from Saudi, because after the King of the Ring was probably the most partying I’ve ever done on a flight,” Rhodes continued. “I got photos with people I don’t even know. I’m arm wrestling Santos [Escobar] in one photo. My shirt is unbuttoned to my naval.”

Rhodes’ only regret from that night, though, is the fact that he didn’t have the King of the Ring crown with him in the pictures that were taken.

You can look, but you can’t touch the legacy that is the Bella Twins (Nikki and Brie). Celebrating Women’s Month in style, the twins are ready to let their hair down and allow their twin magic work its magic by seizing the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, a title that escaped the Hall of Famers, roughly six months after their last tag team match together in 2018. Now in their Hall of Fame era, Nikki and Brie have announced that their new contracts will remain in effect until 2028, presumably until that year’s Royal Rumble. And while they’re cautiously optimistic that they’ll receive the same treatment leading up to their ceremonial send-off as John Cena and AJ Styles had recently, they aren’t holding their breaths.

“I don’t think you and I will ever get that, but I would love to have that,” Nikki mentioned on their show. “Because I do know that the contract that we signed, we signed a two-year deal starting Royal Rumble. And… I know just where I’m at, that’s it. That will be the end for me and for us.”

While it’s good to think far ahead, the dual leaders of the Bella Army are ready to enjoy the fruits of their labor now before hanging it up for good. Nikki added, “I want to have some of my best matches. I want to have a lot of fun. But I want to have an iconic moment where… I could look back and go, ‘Damn, that was a great two years.’ We did it. I don’t want to walk away with any what ifs.”

Their comeback journey was met with a royal roadblock in Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, when “The Queen” interfered in their title match this past Friday on “WWE SmackDown,” that saw the Bellas just a grip away from becoming the new tag team champions in their first challenge against The Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax and Lash Legend). With revenge in sight, Nikki and Brie will get their chance to duke it out with Flair and Bliss on next week’s “SmackDown.”

UFC Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall posted a training video to signal his upcoming return to the Octagon. 

Aspinall sustained a severe eye injury during his first defense of the Heavyweight title, having been promoted from Interim Champion, against Ciryl Gane in October last year. 

He announced he would be having multiple eye surgeries at the turn of the new year, with no clear timeline for his return. And an Interim Heavyweight Championship fight was booked between Alex Pereira and Gane at the Freedom 250 card at the White House. 

Aspinall posted a video showing he had returned to training after the surgeries, indicating that he is on the steady road to returning, on Friday. 

“Coming for it all,” Aspinall wrote on X. The video itself had an end caption: “It begins. Back to work.”

Aspinall only recently agreed to a multi-year deal with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Talent Agency, adding a bit more fuel to the fire after UFC President Dana White had launched Zuffa Boxing, going on to sign Conor Benn away from Matchroom Boxing. Now, White may have to negotiate with Hearn as it pertains to his UFC Heavyweight Champion. 

White said immediately after the announcement of Aspinall’s Matchroom signing that he had no issue with Hearn, and reasoned that he had managed to negotiate with Ortiz before, so would have no issue getting things done.

Evloev looks to extend his 19-0 record against his similarly unbeaten opponent in Murphy at featherweight, though Murphy will enjoy the added benefit – or pressure – that comes with returning to his home nation. Likewise, Luke Riley will be representing England against USA’s Michael Aswell Jr. in featherweight action. 

Michael “Venom” Page and Sam Patterson clash in an all-English welterweight bout, preceded by the only fight not to feature an Englishman: Poland’s Iwo Baraniewski against USA’s Austen Lane at heavyweight. 

Prior to that, Christian Leroy Duncan of England will take on Georgia’s Roman Dolidze at middleweight, and Kurtis Campbell will face USA’s Danny Silva at featherweight. 

The event will be available to those in the US via Paramount+ and internationally for those using UFC Fight Pass and TNT Sports. The main card is scheduled to begin at 4 PM ET.

Not long after that match, on June 13, 2022, Jeff Hardy was arrested for three felony charges including a “3rd DUI offense within 10 years,” “driving with a suspended/revoked license,” and “violating restrictions placed on a license.” According to Matt, he, Jeff, and Matt’s wife Reby were all in Orlando, Florida, that day after a signing at Dave & Buster’s when things went awry.

“Jeff had to go back to Jacksonville to do something. He was getting some sort of scan done – I want to say he was getting a scan done on his brain or something. And it may have been from even that injury in the Bucks match,” Matt recalled. “I remembered Reby and I had phoned home, because she was with me, and I remember landing in Raleigh, North Carolina, and turning on my phone and getting a bunch of messages and I had just learned that Jeff had been arrested.”

Matt recalled feeling sick to his stomach after reading the news, but despite being disheartened by everything, he was still very worried about Jeff. He first checked in with Jeff’s wife, Beth, but all the while, Matt knew that the situation would spiral out of control.

“The only positive I could say out of [the arrest] was that this was the straw that broke the camel’s back and made him change everything about his entire life,” Matt added. “He’s been the best version of himself ever since then.”
