Nickelback is officially back in the WWE spotlight as the road to WrestleMania 42 continues to build momentum.
Triple H revealed on X that the band’s latest track, “Bones for the Crows,” has been selected as one of the official theme songs for this year’s Showcase of the Immortals.
“They’ve rocked with us for over 20 years, and their new song will soundtrack the Grandest Stage of Them All. @Nickelback’s ‘Bones For The Crows’ is an official #WrestleMania theme song,” Triple H wrote.
This marks another chapter in a long-running relationship between WWE and Nickelback. The band previously provided the iconic Raw theme “Burn It to the Ground” between 2009 and 2012, with other tracks such as “Rockstar” and “Edge of a Revolution” also featured across WWE programming over the years. “Bones for the Crows” was originally produced for the Dungeon Hunter 6 video game in 2023 and stands as the group’s first new single since the release of their Get Rollin album in November 2022.
The WrestleMania 42 soundtrack has already featured Aerosmith and YUNGBLUD’s take on “Back in the Saddle” in promotional material, adding to the event’s big-fight atmosphere.
WrestleMania 42 is set for April 18 and 19, 2026, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The card is already stacked with major championship clashes, including Roman Reigns facing CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship, Randy Orton battling Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship, and a high-profile women’s lineup that sees Rhea Ripley challenge Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Title, while Stephanie Vaquer defends the Women’s World Championship against Liv Morgan.

WWE has taken steps this week that point to a fresh wave of talent being prepared for NXT, with several new ring names officially filed.
On March 19, the company submitted trademark applications for the names Anya Rune, Gianna Capri, Veronica Haven, Jacari Ball, and Max Abrams. Each filing includes WWE’s standard description used for in-ring talent, covering wrestling performances across live events, television, radio, and online platforms, along with fan engagement content such as newsletters, blogs, and community features tied to sports entertainment.
At this stage, it remains unclear whether these names are intended for brand new signings or current WWE Performance Center recruits who have yet to receive their on-screen identities. WWE recently confirmed four new additions to the Performance Center roster, including independent wrestler Rayne Leverkusen, whose real name is Rayne Lea.
There is also added context with the upcoming return of WWE LFG. With season three set to premiere on April 26 on A and E, it is expected that several Performance Center talents will be repackaged with new names ahead of their television exposure. That process has already begun, as Bayley Humphrey was recently reintroduced under the name Myka Lockwood following a prior trademark filing.
All signs suggest WWE is continuing to build its next generation of talent, with these latest filings likely tied to future NXT debuts in the months ahead.
Toni Storm may be facing a lengthy absence from All Elite Wrestling, with a new report indicating the situation could be more serious than initially believed.
Storm was pulled from the March 18, 2026 episode of Dynamite at the last minute, raising immediate questions about her condition. According to Fightful Select, she had originally been scheduled to compete but was not medically cleared before the show.
She had been advertised for a No Holds Barred match against Marina Shafir. However, in a sudden change, a backstage segment aired showing Storm laid out in a pool of blood. AEW then confirmed on the broadcast that she was not cleared to compete.
The situation now appears to extend beyond a short-term issue. The report notes that AEW is preparing for the possibility that Storm may not be cleared to return at any point during the remainder of 2026. While no official timeline has been confirmed, the company is already adjusting its creative plans to account for a prolonged absence.
In response, AEW has moved forward with a storyline centered around the unknown attacker responsible for the backstage assault. This angle is expected to play a key role in upcoming programming, providing direction for the women’s division while Storm remains sidelined.
Mina Shirakawa stepped in as Storm’s replacement on Dynamite and defeated Shafir. The focus of the segment quickly shifted from the original match to the mystery surrounding the attack, suggesting that what appeared to be a storyline development may also reflect a real-life situation.
