Bobby Lashley Says He’s Cleared to Return

Bobby Lashley says he is fully healthy and cleared to return to AEW, while also suggesting that a potential MMA fight with Brock Lesnar could still happen.

Speaking at the Monopoly Events Fall Love of Wrestling convention, Lashley addressed rumors about his condition and made it clear he is no longer dealing with any injury issues.

“I am healed. Everybody thought I was hurt. I’m not hurt. Ready to go,” Lashley said.

Lashley has been away from AEW programming in recent months. He previously reunited with MVP and Shelton Benjamin as part of the Hurt Business, and he confirmed that their focus will remain on working together as a unit.

“Between Shelton and MVP, we want to do things collectively. We want to do things as a group,” Lashley said. “So I think we’re going to go after the trios guys. Let’s see what we can do with those guys, because I think that’s what we need.”

He also highlighted the bond within the group and how they continue to support each other.

“The crowd loves us over there. We have an opportunity to bring back what we had before, and it’s real,” Lashley said. “Shelton is an amazing person, an amazing wrestler. MVP is amazing at everything that he does. We just have a great group, and we’re all friends, so we all pull for each other. Anytime one of us is down, the other one pulls us up.”

Lashley added that his teammates have been pushing him to return.

“Right now they’re pulling me up. They’re yanking me back in. They said it’s ready. We’re ready to go back out there and win some titles,” he said.

He also commented on MJF, who is currently AEW World Champion.

“MJF has the title, so I think everybody has some unfinished business with him,” Lashley said. “But I have no hard feelings to anyone. All I want to do is win titles. So that’s where I’m really focused on when we get back.”

When asked about a possible MMA fight with Lesnar, Lashley said it would have delivered for fans.

“We would have both put on MMA gloves, and then we would have swung punches. We would have went takedowns. We would have swung punches, and it would have been great. And everybody would have loved it,” Lashley said.

He declined to predict a winner but expressed confidence in his abilities.

“I never say I’m going to beat anyone. I’m confident in what I can do,” Lashley said. “But nobody that goes out there and disrespects another fighter by saying they can beat them before they beat them. I’m a competitor. If you ask me if I can beat anybody, I can beat everybody in the world. But as respect for other fighters, until that happens, it is what it is.”

Lashley praised Lesnar as a competitor and left the door open for a future fight.

“I take my hat off to him, because Brock is a true competitor, and he loves the business, and he’s great at his character,” Lashley said. “I wish we would have had the opportunity to fight. I mean, we still have some time. We’re both in great shape. You saw Brock. He looks like a million bucks. I think we still have some time, so we can still book that for the fans.”

He even entertained the idea of the fight happening on a major platform.

“We can get on the Ronda-Gina card. That thing would do record numbers. I’m ready,” Lashley said.

Lashley also revealed there were informal discussions about him potentially joining the UFC, but nothing materialized as he chose to continue focusing on pro wrestling at the time.

Looking back, he admitted his mindset was different.

“I wasn’t in the mindset of, hey, let me go and win titles. Let me just go have some good fights and go out there and feed that desire that I had to go compete,” Lashley said.

He added that he might still have one more fight left in him.

“At the end of the day, I had a great time fighting, and I got maybe one more left in me,” he said.

Lashley also named several WWE stars he believes match his intensity in the ring, including Drew McIntyre, Roman Reigns, Bron Breakker, and Austin Theory, along with The Street Profits.

Bully Ray Praises Brock Lesnar – Oba Femi WWE RAW Confrontation

Bully Ray believes Brock Lesnar elevated Oba Femi in a major way during the March 16 episode of WWE RAW, calling their brief interaction one of the most effective star-making moments in recent memory.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray broke down the opening segment that saw Lesnar return, only for Femi to step up and deliver a powerful statement.

“What Brock Lesnar did for Oba Femi last night in less than 60 seconds is more than most talents at Brock’s level can do for other in an hour,” Bully Ray said. “My tweet last night was ‘how to make a motherf**ker in 60 seconds, by Brock Lesnar.’ Oba Femi was made right in that moment.”

He compared the moment to when Drew McIntyre eliminated Lesnar during the Royal Rumble, which immediately raised McIntyre’s status.

“Just like Drew McIntyre was made right in the moment when he threw Brock over the top rope in the Royal Rumble like five years ago,” Bully Ray said. “Brock is very selective. He knows when, where, why and how.”

Bully Ray focused on the physical impact of the segment, noting how rare it is to see Lesnar handled in that way.

“Brock is a big, dense, heavy, strong man. Nobody manhandles Brock Lesnar,” Bully Ray said. “Nobody except the ruler, who manhandled him last night like he has not been manhandled in a long time. Popped him right up, sat him on his shoulders, and held him there before he hit him with the seated powerbomb. Popped right back up, stood with one foot on his chest and pointed towards the sign.”

He added that the moment should silence critics of Lesnar.

“I really hope to myself that every naysayer in the world had their moment of clarity,” Bully Ray said. “The light bulb went off on top of their head, and in that one moment in time, they said to themselves, ‘Now I get it. Now I see why Brock is so smart. Now I know why Brock is so valuable. Now I know why Brock is so selective.’”

The segment also featured Paul Heyman and Seth Rollins, with Bully Ray praising how WWE connected multiple storylines.

“They blended the stories, which I loved,” Bully Ray said. “It made complete sense for Brock Lesnar to go, and it made complete sense for Paul Heyman to go and find his beast, because Seth Rollins potentially screwed up the open challenge by doing what he did to Paul Heyman.”

He described the sequence that led to the key moment.

“Seth takes a step towards Brock. Brock turns his attention. Brock steps towards Seth. Seth backs off. Seth hits the deck. He rolls out. Brock turns around, up into an incredible sky-high seated powerbomb,” Bully Ray said.

Despite the praise, Bully Ray criticized one aspect of the segment, saying Lesnar should not have taken out every hooded associate individually.

“I hated the fact that Brock beat up all of them. It seemed superfluous to me,” Bully Ray said. “If they would have been scared and ran away, it would have meant more for Oba. Here’s a bunch of men running away from one Brock Lesnar. You would have had one Oba Femi walking towards one Brock Lesnar.”

Co-host Dave LaGreca agreed with the point.

“You got 12 guys and then one guy. All 12 guys would gang up on the one guy. He wouldn’t have just one at a time. It’s just stupid,” LaGreca said.

The segment has now set the stage for a major WrestleMania clash, as Femi vs. Lesnar is officially confirmed for WrestleMania 42 on April 19 at Allegiant Stadium.

Tatum Paxley Ends Izzi Dame Feud With Steel Cage Win, Retains WWE NXT Women’s NA Title

Tatum Paxley is still “WWE NXT” Women’s North American Champion after defeating Izzi Dame in a steel cage in the main event of Tuesday’s show, live from Paxley’s home state of Texas. Her next challenger for the gold was revealed at the very end of the night, however, when Blake Monroe popped up out of a trap door on the stage and drug Paxley through the opening.

Dame got the jump on the champion before the match even started. She battered Paxley around on the outside of the cage after Paxley made her way down to the ring. Dame smacked Paxley’s head with the cage door before throwing her in the cage, and retrieved weapons from under the ring before entering the structure herself.

The women fought back and forth inside the cage, slamming one another against the walls and climbing like they were going to try and escape over the top. Paxley went to the top rope and rather than take down Dame, scaled the cage. Dame followed her, and they traded strikes perched atop the cage. Dame smashed Paxley’s face off the steel, then hit a superplex from the top rope. Dame hit Paxley with a chair and went for a powerbomb, but Paxley reversed the move, sending Dame crashing onto the chair instead. Paxley hit a Cemetery Drive onto the chair for the win.

As Paxley was celebrating her victory on the ramp, the trap door opened, revealing Monroe, who grabbed her leg and pulled her down. Monroe popped back up and grabbed the Women’s North American Championship and posed with it as “NXT” went off the air.
