Johnny TV (Fka John Morrison) Thinks He Could Still Be World Champion In WWE Or AEW

AEW’s Johnny TV, aka John Morrison, strongly feels that he can still be a world champion in AEW or WWE.

Morrison, who has been a part of the pro wrestling industry for over two decades, spoke to Chris Van Vliet on “Insight” about his ECW world title run and how that could’ve led to bigger things in WWE. The veteran star, though, feels he’s still at his prime to have a world title run.

“I mean, you can say what you want about this, but to this day, I still feel like I could be world champion of WWE one day, maybe of AEW, maybe. I feel like I just need another opportunity. And the way wrestling works in my mind is things come in waves. [I] Might have mentioned that to you before, but you ride a wave for a while and then it passes and you’re kind of waiting for the next wave. Sometimes you’re waiting longer than other times. But when waves come and you catch them, they take you places,” he said.

The former WWE star recalled how the ECW world title win happened after he caught a wave, which he feels could’ve taken him to greater things, like winning a WWE world title, but things eventually didn’t go his way. Despite that, he doesn’t regret how his career has panned out.

“And like the ECW Heavyweight Championship win, for me, was like the first huge wave that I caught. And it led me to some really amazing places, and it could have ended up leading me to become like a world champion on Raw or SmackDown, or it could have like just completely backfired, and like something else weird happened and then led to nothing. So, I’m kind of happy with how things turned out,” added Morrison.

The AEW wrestler is proud of being labeled “underrated” by fans, and reiterated how he firmly believes he should’ve been a world champion in WWE.

WWE NXT’s Tatum Paxley Names Main Roster Inspiration That She Hopes To Wrestle

Across her near five-year pro wrestling career, Tatum Paxley has collided with numerous names from TNA Wrestling, “WWE NXT,” and WWE’s main roster brands. Still, there’s one particular talent that has evaded her in a singles setting.

As revealed on “Busted Open After Dark,” Paxley is hopeful that she and former WWE Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss can rekindle the chemistry that was previously teased in their tag team bout at last year’s “NXT” Homecoming event.

“I didn’t grow up watching wrestling,” Paxley said. “I literally started YouTubing it, ‘women’s wrestling matches,’ and watching her and going like ‘I didn’t know that there was this much more to pro wrestling.’ She is showing me story and just a look. I was just so drawn to her.

“When she was getting involved with Bray [Wyatt], that’s what really drew me in. I started looking up everything about her … but her stuff with Bray was so intriguing and interesting. I was like, whoa, there’s a lot more to wrestling than I thought. Izzi [Dame] and I actually got to get in the ring with her and Charlotte Flair. Charlotte is Izzi’s inspiration, so that was very like oh my god, how did we get here? But I would just love to have a one-on-one with Alexa Bliss. I just feel we would just come up with something really beautiful and creepy.”

Paxley’s admiration for Bliss is no secret as she’s gone on record to credit the former “Goddess” as the main inspiration behind her own professional wrestling pursuit, which began in 2021. Fast forward to 2026, Paxley now reigns as the NXT Women’s North American Champion, with a reign as NXT Women’s Champion already behind her. Meanwhile, Bliss is a multi-time world champion, currently aligned with Charlotte Flair in the main roster women’s tag team division.

AEW Revolution Media Scrum Highlights: Tony Khan and AEW Stars Address Future Plans

The post AEW Revolution press conference featured several AEW stars and Tony Khan discussing the fallout from Saturday’s pay‑per‑view and outlining what comes next for the company. The session included surprise moments, storyline developments, and updates on talent and future events.

AEW Revolution Media Scrum Highlights

Gabe Kidd interrupted the media room with an aggressive promo, demanding a coffin match against Darby Allin on this week’s Dynamite. Khan reacted positively, saying the idea worked for him. Thekla stayed in character during her appearance and said she would do whatever was needed to help Julia Hart and Skye Blue win the Women’s Tag Team titles.

Roderick Strong was asked if he was part of The Conglomeration and answered with a simple “maybe.” Both Strong and Orange Cassidy hinted they want to pursue the AEW Tag Team titles. During the segment with Mistico, Speedball Mike Bailey, and Kevin Knight, Khan confirmed that Mistico will split his time between CMLL and AEW after signing with the company. When asked about a pay‑per‑view in Mexico, Khan said his focus was on another Grand Slam Mexico event. Mistico, speaking through a translator, said he was happy to team with Jet Speed and happy to have signed with AEW.

Khan also announced that Continental Classic tracksuits are coming, though he did not give a release date.

New National Champion Jack Perry spoke emotionally about his win, calling it bittersweet. He said his father passed away seven years ago and that his previous visits to the building were with him. Perry said he wished his father could have seen the moment but was grateful his mother, sister, and Luchasaurus were there. He also mentioned that Luchasaurus “nearly died” a year ago. Perry admitted he had questioned his career path at times but now feels confident in it.

Khan provided several updates throughout the press conference. He said MJF and Hangman Page were “hurting badly” after their main event. He joked that he was “showing off for his new boss,” referencing the Paramount/WBD deal. Khan said he would love to get Wayne Brady in the ring after Brady’s Zero Hour appearance.

Regarding Ronda Rousey’s involvement, Khan said she is a close friend of Marina Shafir and came in as backup. He shifted attention to Wednesday’s no‑holds‑barred match between Shafir and Toni Storm. Khan said Rousey has always been good to him and wished her well. He added that AEW wrestlers are welcome to attend the upcoming Rousey vs. Gina Carano fight and revealed he has been invited.

Khan said a future show at SoFi Stadium is “not crazy at all.” He also said Penelope Ford’s injury forced a major change, praising Lena Kross for stepping up. On Hangman Page’s stipulation, Khan said it was a verbal agreement similar to Cody Rhodes’ past arrangement and noted that Page is known for keeping his word.

Khan remained positive about the Paramount/WBD merger, saying a partnership between HBO Max and Paramount+ could increase AEW’s reach. When asked about wrestlers expressing political opinions on TV, Khan said AEW is not a political league and that talent is free to express their own views.

The AEW Revolution Media Scrum offered a wide look at AEW’s direction, from new signings to future events and ongoing storylines.

MJF Retains After Brutal Texas Death Match at AEW Revolution

MJF Retains After Brutal Texas Death Match at AEW Revolution

AEW Revolution 2026 closed with one of the most punishing main events in company history, as MJF and Adam Page battled for the AEW World Championship in a Texas Death Match that pushed both men to their absolute limits. Inside the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, the stipulation became a test of endurance, creativity, and sheer refusal to stay down. What followed was a violent, chaotic, and unforgettable chapter in AEW’s main‑event legacy, described here with an emphasis on storytelling rather than graphic detail.

AEW Revolution MJF vs Adam Page Texas Death Match

The match was promoted as a grudge-fueled showdown, but few expected the level of intensity that unfolded. For nearly half an hour, MJF and Page weaponized anything they could find, turning the ring and surrounding area into a battlefield. These were the moments that defined the war.

1. Barbed Wire, Broken Glass, and the First Turning Point

Page set the tone early by wrapping his hand in barbed wire and striking MJF, opening the champion up within minutes. The escalation continued when Page dragged a window pane into the ring. MJF smashed it across Page’s back, only for Page to send MJF through the glass moments later. Both men repeatedly beat the referee’s ten count, establishing that neither intended to quit.

2. The Syringe Spot and the Barbed‑Wire Chair

This was the moment where the match crossed into genuinely graphic territory. MJF produced a syringe and drove it into Page’s mouth area, creating a disturbing visual that immediately shifted the tone of the match. The spot was intentionally shocking, designed to unsettle the audience and underline the personal hatred between the two. MJF followed by dropping Page onto a barbed‑wire‑wrapped chair, adding another layer of danger to an already volatile environment.

3. Light Tubes and Skewers on the Ramp

The fight spilled onto the entrance ramp, where both men grabbed light tubes. Page shattered his over MJF’s head, then produced a bundle of skewers and drove them into MJF’s scalp. The crowd reacted with a mix of shock and disbelief as MJF somehow beat another ten count.

4. The Barbed‑Wire Table Collapse

Page wrapped a chain dog collar around MJF’s neck and tied the other end to the ropes, then set up a table topped with a barbed‑wire board. He attempted a Dead Eye from the ropes, but MJF countered, pulling Page off balance and sending him crashing through the barbed‑wire board. Page barely beat the count, staggering upright with visible difficulty.

5. The Flaming Table Plunge

The most dramatic moment of the match came when both men brawled atop the entrance ramp. In a desperate move, Page launched himself and MJF off the stage and through a flaming table. Both men lay motionless for several seconds before somehow rising again. It was the kind of moment that defines the Texas Death Match stipulation — reckless, theatrical, and unforgettable.

6. The Hagman Gets Hanged

Back at ringside, MJF grabbed the AEW World Championship belt and struck Page. Page retaliated, but MJF used the chain dog collar to choke Page against the ropes. Page fought to stay conscious, but the cumulative damage was too much. He collapsed during the referee’s final ten count, unable to rise. MJF retained the AEW World Championship, surviving one of the most punishing matches in AEW history.

Aftermath: A Champion Standing Over the Wreckage

Medical staff placed Page on a stretcher as MJF stood over him, battered but victorious. In a final act of defiance, MJF climbed onto the stretcher and raised the AEW World Championship high as the show went off the air — an image that will likely define his reign. As per the stipulation, Adam Page can no longer challenge for the AEW World Championship, closing the door on his pursuit of the title for the foreseeable future.

AEW Revolution 2026: 3 Things We Hated & 3 Things We Loved

There were some really nice surprises tonight at Revolution; some expected, but fun and exciting none the less. Some were less expected, making them even more special, with one big shock that has the internet wrestling community divided.

AEW kind of front-loaded the show with all the big returns, but they worked, so I don’t think I minded that aspect at all. The first return was Adam Copeland and Christian Cage making their way back to AEW to set their sights on the World Tag Team Championship. While I’m sure a lot of fans expected them back, nobody was exactly sure when we’d see them. They not only stared down FTR, but were confronted by the Young Bucks, who had just lost a brutal, bloody match to the team to kick off the show. The veteran team being the first return and surprise of the night just felt right.

I don’t think anyone expected to see Ronda Rousey in AEW ahead of her big fight against Gina Carano on Netflix in May. Think how you want about Rousey, of course, and she has certainly lost me as a fan over the years, but this appearance was unexpected, at the very least. I didn’t mind it as much later in the night, as when commentary announced “Timeless” Toni Storm’s No Holds Barred match against Marina Shafir on “Dynamite” this week, there was no mention of Rousey being there as well. Even writing the news story tonight after it happened, I was hesitant to call it a “debut for AEW,” as it was hopefully just a one-off appearance in an attempt to pop the crowd.

The best return of the night was accompanied by an incredible video package teaser, and right after, Will Ospreay’s music hit, and the “Aerial Assassin” returned to our screens, seemingly to challenge Continental Champion Jon Moxley and the Death Riders. I had no idea where or when we were going to see him, and I kind of expected it at Double or Nothing. I also expected him in the top title scene immediately, so when the video played following Moxley’s victory, I was pleasantly surprised.

And even though he wasn’t gone for an awfully long time, we saw Kenny Omega pop back up to protect Brody King from a further beatdown by Swerve Strickland, slightly furthering that story. It’s always nice to see Omega, so I also liked that. The first half of this show was full of surprises, both good and bad, depending on how you feel about these stars, and it helped Revolution feel even more big and exciting, which was great after a few months without AEW pay-per-views.
