Mercedes Mone Drops Another Title As Losing Streak Continues

Mercedes Mone Drops Another Title As Losing Streak Continues

Mercedes Mone’s collection of championship gold continues to shrink following another loss over the weekend.

Mone dropped the Prime Time Wrestling Women’s Championship at PTW More Mone More Problems in Poland, losing the title back to Diana Strong. The defeat comes months after Mone originally captured the belt from Strong in Kozlow, Poland on July 27, 2025.

The loss further chips away at what was once a stacked run under her “Ultimo Mone” persona. She is now down to three remaining titles, including the Winnipeg Pro Wrestling Women’s Championship, which she is scheduled to defend against Jody Threat on Tuesday ahead of AEW Dynamite in Winnipeg the following night.

Mone also remains in possession of the APAC Women’s Championship, which she won from Nor Phoenix Diana at a House of Glory event in November, as well as the ceremonial title awarded for winning the Owen Hart Cup in 2025.

Her recent stretch has seen multiple setbacks across the globe. After returning from a two month hiatus on March 6, 2026, Mone lost the CMLL World Women’s Championship to Persephone at Arena Mexico. Just two days later, she dropped the Bestia Women’s Championship in Italy, followed by another title loss in France for the EWA Women’s Championship on March 14.

The slide continued on March 21, where she lost both the Body Slam Women’s Championship and the Discovery Wrestling Women’s Championship in the same day, marking a sharp turn in what had previously been a dominant title collecting run.

Shane Douglas Calls Kamala Situation “Unforgivable” In Blunt Rant

Shane Douglas didn’t hold back when addressing how wrestling treats its veterans, calling it “unforgivable” that Kamala died in such dire conditions despite his contributions to the industry.

Speaking on the Going Ringside podcast, Douglas pointed to Kamala, real name James Harris, as a key figure in helping elevate Hulk Hogan during the early WWF boom. He said Kamala played a major role in the success the company still profits from today.

“Kamala, the Ugandan Giant, was extremely instrumental in getting Hogan over in the beginning. That big monster foe for Hogan to play with, both Saturday Night Main Event and WrestleMania. He was part of the wheel that made that work that they’re still making money on today,” Douglas said.

He then detailed Kamala’s difficult later years, highlighting the stark contrast between his legacy and his living conditions.

“After he left wrestling, he drove semi trucks for years and years. Then with diabetes, he started losing toes, feet, up to the knees. When that man died, James Harris was living in a house with no electricity and no legs. That is unforgivable for my sport. Unforgivable.”

Douglas expanded the issue beyond Kamala, arguing that many long-time wrestlers are left without support after decades on the road. He referenced Sabu, noting he was still competing shortly before his death despite a 40-year career.

“After 40 plus years on the road with no off season, how much money has Sabu made? One thing you cannot say about any wrestler that’s been on the road for 40 years is they’re lazy,” Douglas said. “Anybody else in any job, if I was working at the front desk of a hotel, if I was working at a factory somewhere, after 40 years, I would have the base of a minimum safety net.”

He then compared wrestling’s financial power to other major sports leagues, pointing to the industry’s massive sale figures.

“If Major League Baseball, NBA, NHL, NFL, if they can all afford to do it, don’t tell me that my industry that just sold 50 percent higher can’t do the same thing,” Douglas said. “To be fair, a lot of us wouldn’t need it. But there are those that do need it.”

Douglas placed responsibility on those running the business, singling out Vince McMahon while also noting that current power players like Endeavor and Tony Khan now share that burden.

He also took time to praise Sabu’s influence, pushing back on criticism of his in-ring style and calling him a key innovator.

“Sabu didn’t just hit spots. He didn’t just speed up and do more and more. Everything led to the next thing. Everything was sequential. It made sense. It fit like a glove,” Douglas said. “I think people like Sabu made ECW. I got to be the mouthpiece for that.”

Nikki Bella Injury Concern After WWE SmackDown Match

Nikki Bella Injury Concern After WWE SmackDown Match

There may be an injury concern involving Nikki Bella coming out of the March 27 episode of WWE SmackDown in Pittsburgh.

The show featured The Bella Twins reuniting in tag team action, as Nikki teamed with Brie Bella to face Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. While the match continued as planned on television, a possible issue may have taken place behind the scenes during the bout.

According to Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com, Nikki may have suffered a leg injury while involved in an off-camera brawl with Nia Jax prior to the finish.

“Not sure the severity but Nikki Bella appeared to suffer some sort of leg injury while brawling off screen with Nia Jax before the finish of their tag match on SmackDown,” Alvarez wrote. “She was limping and had Nia throw her outside afterwards and never got into the ring again, and the doctor was over checking on her for the rest of the segment. Hopefully she’s ok.”

Despite the apparent injury, the match reached its conclusion, with Brie Bella securing the pinfall victory for her team.

Following the match, Lash Legend and Nia Jax entered the ring and attacked both teams, continuing their recent run of post-match assaults. The situation escalated until Bayley and Lyra Valkyria ran down to make the save and clear the ring.

Bayley and Valkyria are scheduled to challenge for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles on WWE RAW this Monday, adding further context to the segment and its aftermath.

At this time, there has been no official update from WWE regarding Nikki Bella’s condition or the severity of the reported injury. Given her limited involvement after the incident and the visible attention from medical staff, her status will likely be monitored closely in the coming days.

With WWE continuing to build its women’s division storylines, Nikki’s health could play a key role in upcoming plans if the injury proves to be significant.
