Tommy Dreamer Says This WWE NXT Star Would Be Great Addition To Paul Heyman’s Group

WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman has, over the years, shaped many young stars into legendary figures in the pro wrestling business, and his former pupil Tommy Dreamer believes that WWE NXT could benefit from Heyman’s Midas touch.

Heyman is currently involved with The Vision, which consists of two young, promising stars in Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. “The Oracle,” as he now goes by, could potentially add more members to the group, which Dreamer touched upon on “Busted Open.” Dreamer believes that NXT Champion Oba Femi has all the tools to be a success on the main roster and could be a good addition to The Vision.

“First, Oba has to be dominant. He’s the ruler of the world. That is his thing. He’s a giant guy. He’s really, really good. He could talk. He’s got it, but then it goes to placement — I mean, honestly, he’d be a great fourth addition with Paul Heyman’s group. But then you’re the fourth person there, and you have to be just as dominant. It’ll be … let’s see where he goes, heel or baby face.”

Femi, who has been a part of the “NXT” roster since 2022, has dominated the developmental brand in 2025, with his reign as NXT Champion recently crossing 200 days. The Nigerian star had outlined his goals on the main roster at the start of the year, where he stated that he wants to redefine how the WWE audience views big men like him. Femi has been a face for most of the year, and if he were to join The Vision, he would have to turn heel, which may not be a great idea, considering how few over babyfaces there currently are on the main roster.

AEW Dynamite TV Viewership & Ratings Report, 8/13/2025

The August 13, 2025, edition of “AEW Dynamite” has seen a decline in viewership, but a slight growth in the key demo, and even topped it for the night.

According to “Programming Insider,” total viewership dipped slightly from last week, from 711,000 viewers to 690,000 viewers. This week’s show’s viewership is 10 percent above the four-week average of 630,000. However, year-over-year Q3 numbers are down, with an average viewership of 633,000 compared to 696,000 in 2024, according to “Wrestlenomics.”

The show, though, topped the 18-49 key demographic for the night, with a rating of 0.17, which, despite being less than last week’s 0.18 rating, was ahead of “Gutfeld,” “Family Guy,” and the WNBA game between the Las Vegas Aces and the New York Liberty. The 0.17 rating was marginally higher than the four-week average of 0.16. Like overall viewership, the key demographic rating for the quarter is down significantly compared to the same period last year, with “Dynamite” averaging 0.22 in Q3 2024 versus 0.16 in Q3 2025.

The show’s viewership started strong at 864,000 viewers in the first quarter hour, before declining throughout the show. It fell to the lowest viewership of 560,000 for the 9:30-9:45 p.m. slot, which featured the eight-man tag team match, the penultimate match of the night. It grew slightly for the main event, with the last 15 minutes averaging 570,000 viewers. The last quarter hour featured a backstage segment with The Young Bucks and Jon Moxley, as well as the final match of the night between The Opps and La Faccion Ingobernable.

Next week’s “Dynamite” will be held in Glasgow, Scotland, and will be the final stop for AEW before the Forbidden Door pay-per-view, which is set to take place at The O2 in London, England.

Veteran WWE Referee Charles Robinson Hospitalized After Suffering Animal Bite

WWE Veteran referee Charles Robinson is one of the longest tenured officials in the promotion, and has become a star in his own right over the years of calling some of the biggest matches in WWE history. In the past, Robinson has had several run ins with wrestlers during matches, but recently he got on the wrong side of a bat, who ended up biting him, resulting in a rush to the emergency room.

Robinson shared a picture of himself in the hospital, where the veteran referee clearly wasn’t taking the situation too seriously. In the same post, he shared a brief clip where he’s attended to by a nurse administering medication. In the post Robinson had the following to say: “Great way to start the morning. 2:00am and got bit by a bat. That’s right a bat! 4 hours later in the ER and six shots.”

In a follow up post, Robinson also shared a picture of the bat that bit him. Based on the picture, it’s unclear if it’s a candid moment of when the little animal bit him or simply a handler removing him, but Robinson didn’t seem to hold any resentment to the animal, as he still described it as “a cutie.”

Robinson is no stranger to injuries; in 2014, he nearly lost a thumb during a freak accident in Saudi Arabia; his 2017 injury during the Royal Rumble clash for the WWE Championship between John Cena and AJ Styles; and a fractured left index finger in 2017 during a “SmackDown” clash between Bishop Dyer and Shinsuke Nakamura.

Report: NFL & NBA Schedules To Determine Final Date For John Cena’s Last Match In WWE

WWE has reportedly narrowed down on two dates for John Cena’s final wrestling match, which will take place in Cena’s hometown of Boston.

The 17-time world champion will call time on his career at the end of the year, and Andrew Baydala has reported that WWE has earmarked December 13 and December 27 as two potential dates for the landmark event. As per Baydala, NBCU insiders have informed him that December 27 could be the likely date, despite an NFL match between the Ravens and Packers also scheduled to take place on the same date. The organization informed him that Peacock can accommodate both events and stream them live, even if they have to be run simultaneously.

December 13 was reportedly the first preference for WWE, but that may not be viable as the TD Garden — the likely host for the event — may not be available due to a Boston Celtics game that could happen a day prior, if the NBA franchise goes into the knockout rounds of the NBA Cup. However, a TD Garden source informed Baydala that the TD Garden will be available from December 25 through to December 28, which would allow WWE to host a “SmackDown” as well as a PLE or TV special for Cena’s farewell.

The August 15, 2025, edition of “WWE SmackDown” is set to be held in the TD Garden, although Cena isn’t advertised to appear at the event.

Recent reports have indicated that WWE has discussed moving the Cena special from December 13 to December 27 to counter AEW’s Worlds End show, which will take place in Chicago. WWE reportedly wants to counterprogram AEW shows to push them down the ladder and help TNA become the No. 2 pro wrestling promotion.

Cena has 11 dates remaining in his WWE run, one of which will be his next match against Logan Paul at Clash in Paris later this month.

Spoiler: Former TNA World Tag Champ Debuts On AEW Collision, Is Officially All Elite

AEW has signed a few exciting stars this year, including the likes of Josh Alexander and Mike Bailey, and they’ve added another one at the latest “AEW Collision” tapings, former TNA Wrestling star Ace Austin.

The upcoming “Collision” was taped at The Andrew J Brady Music Center in Cincinnati on Thursday night, which featured Austin, who faced off against Ricochet in a singles match. After the match, AEW CEO Tony Khan came out to the ring and offered him a contract.

“I have a question for you. Ace Austin, would you like to be All Elite?” asked Khan. “I’ve been really good for a long time, but really good isn’t good enough. Exceptional isn’t good enough. I think I want to be Elite,” replied Austin.

Austin has been a free agent since May after his deal with TNA Wrestling came to an end. Following the end of his six-year run with the promotion, Austin has featured in the indies before debuting on “Collision.” The former TNA World Tag Team Champion was a long-time partner of Chris Bey until Bey’s serious injury last year, which has kept him on the shelf.

Aside from Austin’s debut, “Collision” is set to feature a tag team match involving the Death Riders’ Jon Moxley and Wheeler Yuta against JetSpeed, and Paragon against Blake Christian and Lee Johnson. The main event is an IWGP World Heavyweight Championship #1 Contenders match between Daniel Garcia, Lee Moriarty, Nigel McGuinness, and Hechicero, with the winner representing AEW at Forbidden Door against the holder Zack Sabre Jr.
