Former WWE Star Chris Masters Prefers Heel Role But Says He’s ‘Naturally’ A Babyface

For many, former WWE star Chris Masters is a tale of what might have been, never quite reaching the promise many thought he had when he first debuted in WWE during the mid-2000s. But despite that, many still remember Masters fondly thanks to his early days in WWE as the heelish “Masterpiece,” a more modern take on Lex Luger’s “Narcissist” gimmick that put people down with The Masterlock and briefly flirted with the WWE Championship scene.

Appearing on “Insight with Chris Van Vliet” to talk about his career, Masters admitted that he enjoyed the challenge of playing heel throughout his career, even though he feels it goes against his true nature out of the ring.

“I think most guys do [prefer playing the heel],” Masters said. “But for me, it’s because…you know, I feel more naturally, probably a babyface. This is just me evaluating me. And you know, if you’ve ever heard this actually, most of the guys who are heels in the business are actually babyfaces in real life, and vice versa.”

Masters gave two reasons for why he preferred being a heel. The first was because it allowed him to play against his real life personality, while allowing him to overcome any insecurities he may have had outside the ring. More importantly though, being a heel offered more freedom.

“When you’re heel, it kind of takes the handcuffs off a little bit,” Masters said. “As a babyface, there’s a lot of things you’ve gotta kind of avoid, like little things…like even just stomping a guy in the ring is not really babyface, unless you’re Steve Austin…but that’s just one thing of many. I just think it’s a little more freeing as a heel. And, like, you can have f**k up, and it’s always kind of okay if you’re a heel. Like LA Knight’s botch would’ve been actually okay if he was a heel. But as a babyface, it doesn’t help very much.”

Matt Hardy Reveals Why He No Longer Engages With Online Trolls

Matt Hardy Reveals Why He No Longer Engages With Online Trolls

Matt Hardy has taken plenty of heat over the years, but these days he is handling online trolls very differently.

Speaking on his podcast, Hardy shared how his mindset has shifted when it comes to dealing with negativity on social media. He admitted there was a time when he would fire back at critics, but quickly realised that engaging only made things worse and gave trolls exactly what they wanted.

Now, discipline is the key. Hardy believes the best move is to ignore, mute, or block rather than respond and amplify the noise.

“I’ve been very disciplined the last while and I haven’t done it. I just… it’s better to drown out the noise and it’s almost like you can do it. It’s kind of like a quick, cheap, easy pop or whatever. Like yeah, people think it’s funny, but just like giving those people oxygen. It’s much better just to mute them or block them and move on when it’s all said and done because just, you know, giving them more… giving them oxygen, giving them a response in any way just allows more people to see them and it kind of amplifies them. So it’s probably better not to amplify those people that are specifically out trolling.”

Hardy’s take reflects a wider reality in today’s online world. By refusing to engage, he believes trolls lose the attention they crave, allowing performers to stay focused on what actually matters.

AEW Collision Preview for March 28, 2026

AEW Collision Preview for March 28, 2026

AEW is loading up the March 28 edition of Collision with a stacked card that looks set to deliver a fast paced night from start to finish.

Kazuchika Okada is back in action and will defend the AEW International Championship against Kevin Knight. Knight has been building serious momentum in recent weeks, and this is a big opportunity for him to prove himself against one of the very best. Okada remains one of the most dominant champions in AEW, so this will be a major test for the rising challenger.

The AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships will also be on the line as Divine Dominion face Babes of Wrath in a rematch. Megan Bayne and Lena Kross captured the titles earlier this month, and now their rivals are looking for redemption. With tensions already high between the teams, this one could easily steal the show.

Tommaso Ciampa continues to embrace his darker side following his turn on Mark Briscoe, and he now steps into the ring with Ace Austin. Ciampa has been ruthless since the switch, while Austin will be looking to slow his momentum and score a big win.

Confirmed lineup for AEW Collision on March 28, 2026:

  • AEW International Championship: Kazuchika Okada vs Kevin Knight
  • AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship: Divine Dominion vs Babes of Wrath
  • Ace Austin vs Tommaso Ciampa

Collision is shaping up to be a must watch episode with plenty of high stakes action and key storylines continuing to build. Swerve Strickland is also expected to appear as the show adds even more star power to the night.

The show will air live from the Alliant Energy Powerhouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at 8 PM Eastern on TNT, with streaming also available on MAX.

Hardcore Holly Goes Viral With Incredible Physique At 63

Hardcore Holly Goes Viral With Incredible Physique At 63

A new photo of Hardcore Holly is blowing up online after his wife Linda Howard shared a shot showing the former WWE star in incredible shape at 63.

Howard revealed Holly sticks to a strict routine of two hours of training every day alongside a carnivore diet, built around meat, eggs, and select dairy while cutting out carbs entirely.

The image was first posted back in June 2025 but has resurfaced and is now trending across social media after being widely shared.

Holly, real name Robert Howard, has kept a low profile since leaving WWE in 2009 following a 15 year run. He made only occasional appearances on the independent scene afterward.

Howard also warned fans about a fake “Bob Holly” account on X, confirming it was hacked and taken over. The same account previously impersonated Sid Vicious before switching identities.

During his WWE run, Holly captured the WWF Hardcore Championship six times and held tag team gold on three occasions with The 1-2-3 Kid, Crash Holly, and Cody Rhodes. He also won the NWA World Tag Team Championship with Bart Gunn as part of The Midnight Express revival.

He broke into wrestling in 1988 and joined WWE full time in 1994 as Thurman “Sparky” Plugg before evolving into Hardcore Holly. A broken neck suffered against Brock Lesnar in 2002 kept him out for over a year, but he returned and later challenged Lesnar for the WWE Championship.

Holly released his autobiography, The Hardcore Truth The Bob Holly Story, in 2013.

Backstage Insight On Possible WrestleMania 42 Match Additions

Backstage Insight On Possible WrestleMania 42 Match Additions

WWE is gearing up for WrestleMania 42, set to take place across two nights on April 18 and April 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the early picture for the card is beginning to take shape.

While several marquee bouts have already been confirmed, including four world title matches, there is still plenty of speculation surrounding what else could be added to the lineup in the coming weeks.

Among the officially announced contests are Brock Lesnar facing Oba Femi, as well as Becky Lynch going head to head with AJ Lee for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, giving the show a strong foundation heading into April.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, more matches are expected to fall into place soon. One bout that appears increasingly likely is Finn Bálor colliding with Dominik Mysterio, as tensions between the two continue to escalate. Another potential addition could see Sami Zayn meet Trick Williams following their recent issues.

There is also internal consideration for a multi team Women’s Tag Team Championship match, with several teams circling champions Nia Jax and Lash Legend as competition in the division continues to build.

If all of those matches come together, the card would reach around ten bouts, leaving space for several more additions across the two night event. As of now, however, there is no clear indication of what other matches WWE may be planning to round out WrestleMania weekend.
