Randy Orton RKOs Jelly Roll

Randy Orton RKOs Jelly Roll

Randy Orton RKOs Jelly Roll – Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes continued their heated road to WrestleMania during the March 27 episode of SmackDown, with tensions escalating and an unexpected name caught in the middle.

The night saw Orton pick up a victory over Matt Cardona, who issued a challenge earlier in the show. Orton handled his business in the ring, but the situation quickly changed once the match ended. Moments after the win, Cody Rhodes arrived at the arena on his tour bus and headed straight to the ring, wasting no time confronting Orton.

The two rivals immediately began fighting, turning the situation chaotic. Security and WWE officials rushed out to restore order, but their efforts failed multiple times. Both Orton and Rhodes repeatedly broke free, continuing to attack each other as the segment spiraled out of control.

Eventually, they were separated into opposite corners of the ring. At that point, Jelly Roll made his way out, attempting to calm things down after his earlier victory over Kit Wilson. Instead of restoring order, the situation took another turn. Orton broke free once again and targeted Jelly Roll, dropping him with a sudden RKO. With Jelly Roll laid out, Orton left the ring with a smile as the show came to an end.

This latest development adds another layer to the ongoing Randy Orton vs Cody Rhodes WrestleMania storyline. Two weeks ago, Orton shocked fans by attacking Rhodes and turning on his former ally, leaving him bloodied. Orton later explained that Rhodes’ message about being the best version of himself pushed him to embrace a darker mindset.

Jelly Roll had previously tried to mediate the situation, but Orton has shown no signs of backing down. Last week, he continued his aggressive actions by taking out Matt Cardona once again.

There is also growing mystery around Orton’s recent behavior. In recent weeks, the multi-time WWE Champion has been seen speaking on the phone backstage. Before Friday’s main event segment, Orton told the person on the other end that he would see them soon, hinting that another figure could be involved in this storyline.

With WrestleMania 42 approaching, the rivalry between Orton and Rhodes continues to build, with more twists expected in the coming weeks.

Sami Zayn Wins United States Title, Heads to WrestleMania 42

Sami Zayn Wins United States Title, Heads to WrestleMania 42

A major title change took place on the March 27 episode of WWE SmackDown, as Sami Zayn defeated Carmelo Hayes to capture the United States Title for the second time in his career, heading to WrestleMania 42 in the process.

The match was set up earlier in the night during a backstage segment involving Zayn and SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis. Zayn walked in as Aldis was informing Trick Williams that he had secured a spot on the WrestleMania 42 card. When Zayn asked about his own status, he was surprised to learn that no plans had been made for him.

Clearly frustrated, Zayn began to walk away before overhearing Williams mock him and suggest he should head to catering. Zayn responded by attacking Williams on the spot. After the altercation, Zayn told Aldis he would find his own path to WrestleMania 42, which led him to accept Carmelo Hayes’ open challenge for the United States Championship later in the show.

The title match itself included outside involvement that played a key role in the outcome. Trick Williams made his way to ringside during the bout, still upset over the earlier confrontation. At one point, Williams grabbed the United States Championship and handed it to Zayn, which distracted the referee.

While the official’s attention was diverted, Williams struck Hayes, leaving him vulnerable. Zayn, unaware of the interference, capitalized on the moment and delivered a Helluva Kick to secure the victory and win the title.

Following the match, Zayn once again approached Nick Aldis backstage. He asked if his title win changed anything regarding WrestleMania 42. Aldis confirmed that Zayn would now be part of the event and announced that Zayn will defend the United States Championship against Trick Williams at WrestleMania 42 next month.

The result not only gives Zayn championship gold heading into the biggest show of the year, but also sets up a high-profile title match as WWE SmackDown continues its build toward WrestleMania 42.

Drew McIntyre And Jacob Fatu Set For Violent WrestleMania Match

Drew McIntyre will be facing Jacob Fatu in an Unsanctioned match at WrestleMania 42, as confirmed by Nick Aldis during “WWE SmackDown.”

Fatu and McIntyre have been feuding for months, with the former trying to enter the WWE Championship picture deep into the latter’s pursuit.

McIntyre appeared to have been the one to attack Fatu and write him off TV for a while, making his eventual return on January 9 as McIntyre faced Cody Rhodes in a Two-out-of-Three Falls match for the title, inadvertently costing Rhodes and allowing McIntyre to win the title.

Then on March 13, McIntyre was forced to defend his title in a rematch against Rhodes, during which Fatu interfered to allow Rhodes to re-capture the title. Friday saw the fallout of the brawls and battles between them in the weeks since, with McIntyre making exasperated note of the fact Fatu cost him the title while Fatu swore that he had not started this.

Aldis came out to intervene and announced that they would have the opportunity to hash their differences out on the “Grandest Stage of Them All,” though it will be Unsanctioned so anything goes and the company cannot be held responsible for what they do to one another.

AEW Dynamite Ratings & Viewership Report: 3/25/2026

The March 25 episode of “AEW Dynamite” saw the stars of All Elite Wrestling take another step towards the Dynasty pay-per-view on April 12, with several big matches officially announced. Kenny Omega’s win over Swerve Strickland meant that he would challenge MJF for the AEW World Championship, Thekla made another defense of the AEW Women’s World Championship against Mina Shirakawa, and Will Ospreay issued a challenge to Jon Moxley that the AEW Continental Champion was more than happy to accept.

Last week’s episode of “Dynamite” turned a lot of heads ratings wise as it was the most watched episode of the show in nine months, but not to be outdone by what came before it, this week’s episode of “Dynamite” had an increase in viewership. The Programming Insider and Wrestlenomics have both confirmed that the March 25 episode of “Dynamite” averaged a total of 765,000 viewers, a 5% increase from last week, and 18% above the trailing four week average of 658,000 viewers. As usual, all of these figures don’t include those who streamed the show live on HBO MAX. 765,000 viewers is also the highest average viewership “Dynamite” has earned since July 2024, with that year’s Blood and Guts special averaging 786,000 viewers.

There was more good news in the demographics as “Dynamite” posted a 0.14 number in the 18-49 demographic, an 8% increase on the previous week and 27% above the trailing four week average of 0.11. This number took “Dynamite” into the top five in the prime time cable rankings for Wednesday night, placing fifth overall behind the NBA on ESPN which finished first, and the three hours of coverage on FOX News that took up the other three spots. However, “Dynamite” had some strong performances in other demos, placing second behind the NBA in both the 18-34 and the 12-34 demographics with another 0.14 number, and joint third in the 25-54 demo with a 0.21 number.

WWE United States Champion Carmelo Hayes Dethroned In Open Challenge, Following Trick Williams Interference

After a backstage confrontation with “WWE SmackDown” General Manager Nick Aldis and Trick Williams, Sami Zayn has found his way onto the WrestleMania 42 card after defeating Carmelo Hayes for the United States Championship on Friday’s edition of the blue brand. Aldis told Zayn he didn’t have a place for him at ‘Mania at the moment, so Zayn took matters into his own hands and answered this week’s US Championship open challenge.

Before the match got underway, Williams made his entrance and took a seat beside the commentary desk. Zayn took it to Hayes to start off the match and was in control until Hayes jumped off the ropes to take him out, then followed up with a springboard leg drop while Zayn was also in the ropes.

Zayn went for a frog splash, but Hayes hit him with a dropkick. The challenger caught Hayes off the First 48 attempt and countered into a pop-up powerbomb, but the champion was able to kick out. Hayes dodged a Helluva Kick and went up top, but Zayn met him there and hit a superplex.

After they battled through a picture-in-picture break, Zayn hit an exploder into the corner, but Hayes connected with the First 48 as Zayn looked for the Helluva Kick. Zayn countered the Nothing But Net with the Blue Thunder Bomb, but Hayes still managed to hang on.

That’s when Williams grabbed the title and threw it to Zayn in the ring. As the referee was distracted, Williams jumped up on the apron, but accidentally hit Hayes with a big right hand. Zayn finally connected with the Helluva Kick for the win. When Zayn ran into Aldis backstage and asked if he had earned his WrestleMania match now, Aldis told him he would be defending the title against Williams at the event.
