Backstage Update On WWE’s Chelsea Green After Suffering Ankle Injury In February

WWE’s Chelsea Green is recovering well from her ankle injury and could be closing in on a return to the ring.

Green broke her ankle during her match with Tiffany Stratton and Lash Legend on “WWE SmackDown,” but nearly two months after suffering the injury, she could be back in the ring soon, as per “WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select.” The report has indicated that some backstage believe that she could be cleared for action “sooner rather than later,” although there’s no indication if she will make it back on WWE television before WrestleMania, which is under four weeks away. The “WrestleVotes Radio” report also added that Green was insistent on continuing to appear on-screen despite her injury, which is why she has featured not only on “SmackDown” but also in AAA.

Initial reports had said that the injury was just a strain, but Green herself later confirmed that she had broken her ankle, with her revealing that her inner ankle’s bone had chipped and cracked. In another interview, the former WWE United States Champion was optimistic about making it back to the ring by WrestleMania 42, which will be held on April 18 and 19.

Since her injury, Green has appeared on WWE television, featuring ringside for her The Green Regime Alba Fyre’s match. There was also some disappointment for Green as she is no longer the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Champions, as Ethan Page and Green’s substitute, La Hiedra, lost the titles to Mr. Iguana and Lola Vice.

AEW World Champ MJF Set To Wrestle TNA’s Nic Nemeth Following Social Media Call-Out

After some back-and-forth online, AEW’s MJF and former WWE star Nic Nemeth, FKA Dolph Ziggler, will face each other for the first time in May.

Nemeth, an analyst on “Busted Open,” asked MJF Miz to step up his game after stating that the AEW World Champion phoned it in on his “AEW Dynamite” promo this past week. An angry MJF called Nemeth delusional and jealous, before warning him not to bring up his name on any show. A few hours later, Brian Myers, FKA Curt Hawkins, announced that the two would settle their differences at his promotion, Create A Pro Wrestling, on May 1 in New York.

“I’ve talked to both parties involved and they’ve mutually agreed to settle this. Not many dream matches left out there in professional wrestling. But, this is certainly one of them… @CreateAPro  Wrestling is proud to officially announce: May 1st, Melville, New York @The_MJF vs @NicTNemeth  Tickets on sale NOW. https://createaprowrestling.com/events/”

The match will take place at the Create A Pro’s Monumental Moment, which is the only match advertised for the event at the time of writing. MJF’s promo on this week’s “Dynamite” had him gloating about successfully defending his title against Adam Page at Revolution and claiming that no one can defeat him. He was interrupted by Kenny Omega, who stepped up as MJF’s next challenger, with their match set to take place at AEW Dynasty on April 12 — a few weeks before MJF vs. Nemeth.

MVP On AEW’s Outrunners: ‘Sometimes Corniness Is Allowed’ In Pro Wrestling

While pro wrestling has long been a haven for larger than life, over the top, colorful superstars, things have begun to swing the other way in recent years. In its place are wrestlers that fans have gravitated towards due to their legitimacy or realness, a call back of sorts to wrestling earliest days when legitimate tough guys ruled the ring, while characters similar to those of the 1980s and 1990s have begun to be viewed as goofy or, as AEW’s MVP would put it, corny.

Speaking about corny wrestling characters on “Marking Out,” MVP stated his belief that, by in large, corny wrestling characters don’t really work in the modern wrestling landscape. But he quickly backtracked from the totality of that stance, pointing out that there are exceptions. And the biggest exceptions, according to MVP, are a duo of two men who claim to be “The Youngest Men Alive,” and once challenged MVP’s Hurt Syndicate stablemates Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin for the AEW World Tag Team Championships.

“I’ll give you a great example of somebody, two guys that go over huge, The Outrunners,” MVP said. “They’re caricatures of 80s wrestlers. You know, ‘Tell ’em Turb!’ Dude, it is so campy, it is so, like, cheesy 80s wrestling. But you love it. They’re so good at it. You know, it’s like ‘Yeah, I like that.’ So I guess, at the end of the day…the authenticity has to come from a place of authenticity, you know? But corniness, for wrestling, sometimes corniness is allowed. You can be corny and you can get over in that corny way, and people will like it and people will allow it. There’s lot of exceptions to that rule.”

Bianca Belair Begins Light Training Ahead of WWE Return

Bianca Belair Begins Light Training Ahead of WWE Return

Bianca Belair may finally be on the road back to the ring. According to a new report from BodySlam+, the former Women’s Champion has begun light training as she works toward an in‑ring return following a lengthy absence. While no official timetable has been confirmed, the report indicates that Belair could be back “sooner rather than later,” offering the most encouraging update since her injury last year.

Belair has not competed since WrestleMania 41, where she faced IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley in a match that resulted in a finger and knuckle injury. The damage proved more complicated than initially expected. Despite attempts at rehabilitation, the injury did not heal properly, ultimately requiring surgery earlier this year. The procedure forced Belair to step away from both in‑ring action and regular televised appearances.

Her only on‑screen moment since then came at Evolution 2025, where she served as the special guest referee for Jade Cargill vs. Naomi. Even then, Belair’s involvement was limited, underscoring how cautious WWE has been with her recovery.

Before the setback, WWE reportedly had major plans for Belair at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas. She was originally expected to challenge Jade Cargill for the Women’s Championship in what would have been one of the event’s marquee matches. With Belair not fully cleared, those plans were scrapped, and WWE pivoted to Cargill vs. Rhea Ripley instead.

Belair beginning light training marks a significant step forward. While she is not yet cleared for full contact, the fact that she has resumed physical preparation suggests that her recovery is progressing. WWE has historically taken a cautious approach with top‑level talent returning from hand and finger injuries, especially when grip strength and impact absorption are involved.

For now, Belair’s exact return date remains unknown. But with training underway and momentum building, it appears the EST of WWE is finally moving closer to her comeback.

Robert Stone Named Full-Time General Manager of NXT

Robert Stone Named Full-Time General Manager of NXT

After several weeks serving in an interim capacity, Robert Stone has officially been promoted to full‑time general manager of WWE NXT. Stone announced the news earlier today on social media, confirming that his new role is now permanent and expressing gratitude to those who helped him reach this point.

Stone thanked William Regal, Shawn Michaels, and the WWE Universe for their support, noting that the opportunity means a great deal to him. “Thank you WWE Universe. Being the Full Time GM is Set. In. Stone. Now the real work begins…” he wrote.

Stone stepped into the interim GM role on February 3, 2026, following Ava’s departure from WWE on January 30. Ava had served as NXT’s general manager from 2023 to 2026, overseeing a period of significant roster growth and brand evolution. Stone’s appointment marked a shift in leadership, and his promotion now solidifies that transition.

Earlier this week, Stone made one of his first major decisions as acting GM when he announced the future of the NXT Championship. At Stand & Deliver, Joe Hendry will defend the title in a multi‑man match against Ricky Saints, Ethan Page, and Tony D’Angelo — a high‑stakes bout that immediately signals Stone’s intent to shape NXT’s main event scene.

With his position now official, Stone begins his tenure at a pivotal moment for the brand, and his early moves suggest he plans to make an immediate impact on NXT’s direction.
