Oba Femi On New Talent Joining WWE’s Aging Roster: ‘Father Time Always Wins’

Oba Femi is confident about being a success in WWE and taking the spot of experienced stars on the roster.

Femi, who has quickly made a mark on the main roster, recently spoke to “SHAK Wrestling” about the main roster and how the veterans leading the pack will eventually have to make way for younger stars like him.

“Well, it’s very good because at the end of the day, those old guys, they’re doing their thing. You know, they’re killing it, but at the same time, Father Time always wins. You know, a lot of them are 44, 45, 46. They’re on their way out. They have one foot in the door. So, this is a time for someone like ‘The Ruler’ to come in and, you know, take their place, fulfill destiny. And I’ve built the trust with them. I’ve built the equity in ‘NXT’ with what everything I did with the NXT Championship, all those classic matches I had. And I feel like, you know, when they’ve seen the body of work, they’re like, ‘Okay, we have something here.’ So, I think it’s good that they’re putting that trust in me because I think it’s well deserved,” said the former NXT Champion.

While the top of the card in the men’s division on the main roster is dominated by experienced stars like CM Punk, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins, to name a few, there are a few younger stars who are hot on their heels, like Dominik Mysterio and Bron Breakker.  Femi was informed in the interview that the last WWE star to win a world title in their 20s was Bray Wyatt, and he was asked if he could follow in the late star’s footsteps.

“I think the odds are very high [of becoming world champion in his 20s]. They’re stacked in my favor. I’m young, I’m spry, I’m ready, like I’m ready to go, I’m hungry. Hungrier than a lot of these 47-year-olds, I’ll tell you that.”

Oba Femi believes that he, and a few other wrestlers currently in their 20s, like Mysterio and Breakker, will become world champions soon.

AEW Champ Thekla Has ‘No Doubt’ That Women’s Blood & Guts Will Return In 2026

Before she became AEW Women’s World Champion, Thekla was one of 12 women to take part in AEW’s first ever Women’s Blood & Guts match last November. And not only was Thekla on the winning side of things, but she and Triangle of Madness stablemates Skye Blue and Julia Hart were arguably the talk of the match, from Blue wrestling the whole match despite bleeding profusely to Thekla using her small stature to escape the Blood & Guts cage via a small hole in the structure.

In an interview with “TheSportster,” Theka relived Blood & Guts and her famous escape the ring spot, joking that the spot showed how smart she was because she was able to escape the cage, get away from the violence, and ultimately secure the cage key from one of the referees, ensuring her team’s victory. In the end, Thekla was thrilled to be part of the match, and is confident the first Women’s Blood & Guts match won’t be the last Women’s Blood & Guts match.

“It’s cool to be part of something that’s a first time experience,” Thekla said. “It’s really cool. And I think there was a big buzz. Everybody watched it, and I think that it’s really cool to also show that we’re tough. I’m crying about it now but…let’s go again. We’re doing it this year too. No doubt about it. I’ll there, and I’ll bring a kendo stick in barbed wire.”

So far, AEW has made no reference to when a Men’s or Women’s Blood & Guts match could take place in 2026. The promotion had typically run the match in June up until last year.

Thekla Signs New Multi-Year AEW Contract

Thekla Signs New Multi-Year AEW Contract

A fast-rising star in All Elite Wrestling, Thekla has officially secured her future with AEW after signing a new multi-year contract.

According to a report from Fightful Select, Thekla agreed to the new deal despite already being under a two-year contract that had not yet expired. The decision highlights just how highly AEW values her contributions, as the company moved quickly to extend her stay less than a year into her original agreement.

The report noted that AEW was extremely impressed with her performances, leading to the early renewal. Since arriving in the promotion, Thekla has made an immediate impact, quickly rising through the ranks of the women’s division.

Her momentum peaked when she captured the AEW Women’s World Championship from Kris Statlander on an episode of AEW Dynamite. The title victory capped off one of the fastest ascents in the division in recent memory and solidified her status as one of the promotion’s top talents.

The Austria native first signed with AEW following a run in Japan and made her debut in May 2025. She immediately inserted herself into the spotlight by targeting Jamie Hayter, signaling her intentions early. Soon after, she aligned with Skye Blue and Julia Hart to form the Triangle of Madness faction, further elevating her presence on television.

In a recent interview with Chris Jericho, Thekla shared that she always believed she would eventually land in AEW. She pointed to the company’s identity as a key factor, noting that it carries a “punk feel” and a “fresh feel,” which aligned with her own style and approach to wrestling.

Thekla retained the AEW Women’s World Championship on the March 25 episode of Dynamite, defeating Mina Shirakawa with the use of brass knuckles.

With a new contract now in place and strong backing from AEW management, Thekla appears set to remain a central figure in the women’s division for the foreseeable future.

Will Ospreay vs Jon Moxley Announced For AEW Dynasty

Will Ospreay vs Jon Moxley Announced For AEW Dynasty

Will Ospreay vs Jon Moxley Announced For AEW Dynasty – The March 25 episode of AEW Dynamite featured a major development heading into the next pay-per-view, as Will Ospreay delivered an emotional backstage promo that led to a high-stakes challenge.

Speaking ahead of the Death Riders mixed trios match, Ospreay addressed his ongoing issues with Jon Moxley and his allies. He made it clear that his problems extend beyond just Moxley, calling out PAC for repeatedly involving himself in his business. Ospreay directly challenged PAC to a match on next week’s Dynamite in Winnipeg, escalating tensions within the group.

The tone quickly shifted as Ospreay reflected on Moxley’s previous comment about putting him in a “time out.” He tied that phrase to his personal life, explaining that while it gave him time with his son, the aftermath of the Death Riders’ attack left a lasting impact. Ospreay pointed to the scar on his neck and spoke about the fear in his son’s eyes after witnessing the incident, making it clear that the situation had gone far beyond competition.

Fueled by that experience, Ospreay issued a direct challenge to Moxley for a match at AEW Dynasty, vowing to change Moxley’s life the same way his own had been altered.

Later in the show, following the Death Riders’ match, Moxley responded. He downplayed the situation, stating that whatever issue Ospreay believes exists with the group, it is not personal from their side. Despite that, Moxley accepted the challenge, confirming that the two will meet at Dynasty. He also warned Ospreay to be careful, suggesting that his words could lead to consequences.

The match will mark Ospreay’s first pay-per-view appearance since AEW Forbidden Door, where he competed in a Lights Out Steel Cage match. With both men now set on a collision course, Dynasty adds another high-profile bout to its lineup.

Kenny Omega vs MJF Set for AEW Dynasty

Kenny Omega vs MJF Set for AEW Dynasty 2026

Kenny Omega vs MJF Set for AEW Dynasty – The March 25 episode of AEW Dynamite opened with a high-stakes main event-level match, as Kenny Omega faced Swerve Strickland in singles competition with major implications attached.

Omega entered the bout with his Executive Vice President role on the line, while Strickland put his position as the number one contender to the AEW World Championship at risk. The match delivered on its importance, with both men trading momentum throughout. In the end, Omega secured the victory, putting Strickland away with his signature One Winged Angel to earn the decisive pinfall.

The result not only protected Omega’s EVP status but also reshaped the AEW World Championship picture moving forward.

Later in the night, to kick off the second hour of Dynamite, MJF made his return to television following his appearance at AEW Revolution. MJF addressed the crowd and boasted about his Texas Deathmatch victory over Adam Page, leaning into his usual confident and antagonistic persona.

After delivering a series of insults and catchphrases, MJF was interrupted by Omega, drawing a strong reaction from the audience. Omega leaned into the moment by referencing his own legacy, contrasting MJF’s “Devil” persona with his “God of Professional Wrestling” nickname.

Omega then made his intentions clear, challenging MJF for the AEW World Championship at the upcoming AEW Dynasty event. MJF quickly accepted the challenge, signaling that the match is now set. However, the segment ended on a tense note, as MJF refused to shake Omega’s hand, reinforcing the hostility between the two heading into the pay-per-view.

With Omega coming off a major win and immediately stepping into the title picture, AEW has now locked in a high-profile championship match for Dynasty, setting the stage for a major clash between two of the company’s top stars.
