Former WWE star Nikki Cross, who was part of the company’s annual post-WrestleMania talent cuts this past Friday and a member of the Wyatt Sicks, has shared a heartfelt goodbye to one of her traveling partners. On Sunday, Cross took to social media to express her appreciation for former Women’s United States Champion Giulia, who she built a strong friendship with over the past year on the road when both wrestlers were assigned to “WWE SmackDown.”

“I forever will love and support Giulia. Our friendship has been one of the greatest gifts this past year. I will miss her as a travel buddy but our friendship extends beyond. We just click. I trust her. I love her. I wish her every success, laugh and smile possible. She inspires me as a person and as a wrestler. I cherish the time and memories we have already shared and here is to more. Ganbatte.”

On Friday, Cross was one of the first stars among those who had been released to issue a statement, where she thanked her fellow women’s colleagues as well as Robbie Brookside and William Regal for making her dream of wrestling in WWE come true. Unfortunately, Cross rarely got the opportunity to step in the ring during her time with the Wyatt Sicks, having just one televised match in the last 18 months. 

Last week, the entirety of the Wyatt Sicks was released from WWE, with Bo Dallas, Joe Gacy, Dexter Lumis and Erick Rowan all joining Cross on the list of talent cuts. In total, 23 names were let go from the company on Friday, including Aleister Black, Zelina Vega, Kairi Sane, Motor City Machine Guns, Alba Fyre, Apollo Crews, Santos Escobar, Zoey Stark, Andre Chase, and Dante Chen.

It’s one thing to pay tribute to a wrestler by using one of their signature moves and wearing similar gear, but it’s possible to take it a step too far, in the eyes of some. Former WWE star Carmella doesn’t think pop star/wrestler B3CCA using her Code of Silence submission and wearing similar cheetah print attire was F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S, and she might just do something about it. 

“Hmmm.. there’s a difference between homage and theft… I didn’t retire, I had two babies… might have to come back and show these b***hes how it’s really done [with a money mouth emoji],” Carmella wrote on X.

B3CCA was up against Kris Statlander at “AEW Collision” Playoff Palooza this past Saturday. After B3CCA used her version of the Code of Silence, Statlander reversed the head scissors lockup by rising to her feet and connecting her Saturday Night Fever finisher, securing the singles victory.

It’s been three years since fans have seen Carmella compete in the squared circle. Her last televised match was in 2023, where she lost against “The EST” Bianca Belair. While away, she had two children with her husband, WWE announcer Corey Graves. Her time in WWE officially ended in February of last year, as the Stamford-based promotion noted they would not renew her contract. 

Prior to her departure, Carmella made history by becoming WWE’s first-ever Women’s Money in the Bank winner, which she cashed in 287 days later (still the longest ever time before a cash-in occurred) to become the SmackDown Women’s Champion. She would then go on to become a former one-time Women’s Tag Team Champion and a four-time 24/7 Champion.

Shawn Michaels was known as the “Heartbreak Kid” throughout his WWE career, with a theme song where he describes himself as “just a sexy boy.” In the WWE corporate mindset, that meant it made perfect sense to have Michaels feature in a segment alongside rapper Sexyy Red at NXT Stand & Deliver 2026.

During an appearance on the “Club 520 Podcast,” Michaels looked back at his pairing with Sexyy Red, expressing what it ultimately meant to him. “I would’ve never imagined, at 60 going on 61, that – for instance – somebody like a Sexyy Red would make me – seriously – would make me relevant this late in my life,” he stated. “Again, I’m an old man and I’m – I had some swagger and some aura, as you kids say, back in the ’90s but it was because I was an absolute trainwreck and I was a menace.”

Looking back on how his pairing with Sexxy Red kicked off, the veteran noted that it began with Red’s social media posts. “I think the first one was her playing my song in the background, and dancing in her car,” Michaels recalled, adding how the rapper also played clips of him in the ’90s, leading WWE to reach out to her. “I was just curious if it was just something she did out of fun or if she was a fan. … She was just wonderful with us and she continues to include me, just out of the goodness of her heart, I guess. It’s absolutely a fun little partnership we have.”

Michaels then noted that his old self-destructiveness played well on television, but by 2002 he was completely reformed as a boring dad, so the idea that HBK could still be cool so many years later has surprised him.

On Saturday night, the annual White House Correspondent’s Dinner was being held at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C. and was attended by President and WWE Hall of Famer Donald Trump and members of his cabinet. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon was in attendance and was accompanied by her son, Shane. At the event, a shooting took place in the hotel lobby. The hotel was evacuated and Axios reporter, Andrew Solender, posted a photo of the McMahons being escorted from the hotel.

Video aired on CNN shows a clip from inside the dinner while CNN anchor, Kaitlan Collins was on the phone describing the situation that was unfolding. In the clip, Collins is standing next to the McMahons. Collins does say the shooter was dead, but we now know that he was apprehended in the hotel.

UFC’s Dana White was also in attendance and called the situation “f***ing awesome” and ignored orders to get down. Paul Levesque, who was appointed by President Trump to a council to promote a healthier country, was not in attendance. Linda, along with her three granddaughters, inducted her daughter, Stephanie McMahon into the WWE Hall of Fame on April 17.

The suspect was identified as Cole Tomas Allen of Torrance, California. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday on charges including using a firearm during a crime of violence and assault on a federal officer.

“WWE SmackDown” is set to undergo yet another change to its runtime, after having switched to a three-hour runtime at the start of the year.

The Friday night show switched from a two-hour runtime to three hours at the start of January, but it seems like it will be going back to being a two-hour show in the future. “Bodyslam+” has reported that the change will happen in the next few weeks.

This change is similar to what WWE did last year, too, with reports from earlier this year indicating that WWE could use the same formula this year, running three-hour shows for the first quarter of the year, before going back to the two-hour format. Last year, WWE moved to the two-hour slot in July, but if these reports are to be believed, the switch could happen much earlier in 2026.

Reports at the time had stated that the decision by WWE to move to three hours for the blue brand was to give other shows a lead-in. The switch to three hours for “SmackDown” was not met with widespread praise, with the likes of WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray arguing that three hours is far too long for any pro wrestling show.

Meanwhile, “WWE Raw,” which airs on Netflix on Monday nights, runs for around two and a half hours, including ads.
