The Undertaker Names GUNTHER As His Favorite Modern Wrestler

Even six years after retiring from in-ring competition, The Undertaker remains closely connected to today’s wrestling scene. Through his creative involvement in AAA and his coaching role on WWE LFG, the Hall of Famer continues to follow the current generation. During a recent interview on Nightcap, he shared which modern star stands out to him the most.

The Undertaker did not hesitate when naming GUNTHER as his top pick, praising his old-school approach and in-ring style.

“Oh man, I tell you because he’s such an old school guy, probably won’t be received real well, but I love GUNTHER. I do. I absolutely do,” Undertaker said. “There’s no flash. There’s no flash. What you get is somebody going in there and he’s going to stomp your guts out. He’s going to chop you up. He’s going to beat you up. He ain’t flying around, doing a bunch of silly stuff. He’s in there and he’s just a serious character. He’s a throwback. He’s a throwback to a different generation. It just lets you know that what is old can be new again.”

GUNTHER has built his WWE run around that exact identity. His matches focus on physicality, pacing, and a serious tone, which mirrors the style seen in earlier eras of wrestling. That approach has helped him stand out in a roster filled with faster and more high-risk performers.

His recent run adds weight to Undertaker’s comments. GUNTHER has scored major wins over established names like Goldberg and John Cena, both of whom are closely tied to Undertaker’s own era. He also defeated Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 42, continuing his momentum on the biggest stage.

There is also a connection between GUNTHER and one of Undertaker’s final opponents. The Undertaker last wrestled in a Boneyard Match against AJ Styles at WrestleMania 36. Earlier this year, GUNTHER added another milestone by retiring Styles from in-ring competition, further linking his run to past generations.

With strong performances and a clear identity, GUNTHER continues to gain respect from legends of the business. The Undertaker’s endorsement adds another level of credibility to his position as one of the top names in WWE today.

Bishop Dyer Questions WWE NXT Call Ups Strategy

Bishop Dyer Questions WWE NXT Call Ups Strategy

Several names from WWE NXT are quickly moving to the main roster following WrestleMania 42. Sol Ruca and Ethan Page already made their debuts on WWE RAW after the event, while Joe Hendry is set to debut on the upcoming episode. Jacy Jayne has also been featured on WWE SmackDown as part of the recent wave of talent being introduced.

Former WWE star Baron Corbin, now known as Bishop Dyer, shared his concerns about how these call-ups are being handled. Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Dyer explained that the current approach feels very different from what he experienced during his time in WWE. His main issue is the lack of a strong mid-card structure on both WWE RAW and WWE SmackDown.

“I think all four of them are insanely talented, and will all have a lot of success on the main roster, if it’s done right, you know. They’re really working to get some new guys over right now that are up there,” Dyer said. “So, is the timing right for the call-ups to get on a successful path right away? The TV time on ‘SmackDown’ being three hours helps, and the need for fresh faces helps. But also, they’ve kind of abandoned that mid-card area for a minute, and that’s where a lot of those guys are going to go in to start their path on the main roster. So, they kind of have to rebuild that, as well.”

Dyer believes that some of the talent may already be ready for a bigger spotlight. He pointed to Ruca and Jayne as performers who look prepared for top-level opportunities. Ruca made an immediate impression by stepping into the ring with Liv Morgan, the current Women’s World Champion, on WWE RAW. Meanwhile, Jayne made an impact on WWE SmackDown alongside her Fatal Influence group, attacking Paige, Brie Bella, and Rhea Ripley.

On the other hand, Dyer feels that Page and Hendry may need more time to build momentum before moving into higher-profile roles. Page picked up a win in his debut match against Je’Von Evans, showing promise early on. Hendry’s upcoming debut will offer another look at how WWE plans to position its newest arrivals.

With multiple call-ups happening at once, WWE appears focused on refreshing its roster. However, as Dyer pointed out, rebuilding the mid-card scene on WWE RAW and WWE SmackDown could be key to ensuring long-term success for these rising stars.

Bully Ray Talks Paul Heyman’s Future After Brock Lesnar Retirement

Bully Ray Talks Paul Heyman’s Future After Brock Lesnar Retirement

One week has passed since Brock Lesnar suffered a decisive loss to Oba Femi at WrestleMania 42. After the match, Lesnar left his gear in the ring and waved to the Las Vegas crowd. The scene felt final and has fueled talk that his in-ring career could be over. With that possibility in mind, focus has quickly shifted to Paul Heyman and what his next move could be.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray raised an idea that could change the landscape. He suggested a scenario where Heyman could bring Lesnar back only to turn on him and align with a new dominant force.

“Could you ever see a world in which Paul would lure Brock out of retirement just to plunge the final knife into him, and be aligned with GUNTHER?” Ray asked Tommy Dreamer.

Ray also discussed Heyman’s current role within The Vision. He pointed to Heyman’s connection with Bron Breakker and noted that while Breakker has proven he can stand on his own, Heyman still adds presence and direction. Their partnership remains strong, but it may not be permanent if a bigger opportunity appears.

Dreamer responded by highlighting a pattern in Heyman’s career. He explained that Heyman often backs the hottest act in the company. Right now, that description fits GUNTHER. Even without a title, GUNTHER has built strong momentum. His recent wins over Goldberg, John Cena, and AJ Styles have strengthened his position.

Dreamer added that a partnership between Heyman and GUNTHER could be based on business rather than loyalty. He referenced GUNTHER’s win over Seth Rollins at WrestleMania, which came after a request from Heyman. That detail suggests Heyman already has influence, even without a formal alliance.

Heyman has built his career by aligning with top talent at the right time. With Lesnar’s future unclear, he now faces another key decision. Whether he stays with The Vision or moves toward a new client like GUNTHER will shape the next phase of WWE programming, including major shows like WWE RAW.

Tommy Dreamer Says Sami Zayn Has ‘One Shot’ To Win A World Title In WWE

Sami Zayn has been signed to WWE since 2013, and though he’s had several title runs, Zayn has yet to win a main roster world championship. Over the years, he’s had several shots at the accolade, including his Undisputed WWE Championship match against Drew McIntyre at this year’s Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia, but WWE has yet to give Zayn such a crowning victory.

While debating Zayn’s chances at world championship gold during an episode of “Busted Open Radio,” Tommy Dreamer shared when and where he thinks “The Underdog from the Underground” will finally reach the aforementioned pinnacle. “He has one shot to win the world title: WrestleMania [in] Saudi. Right place, right time.” Dreamer also thinks Zayn should add the stipulation going into WWE WrestleMania 43 that if he doesn’t win the world title at the PLE, he’ll leave the company. “All’s he’s got to do is win it once.”

“Sami Zayn is a good hand,” Bully Ray said, a few minutes earlier. “At the end of the day, if there’s nothing else going on for him, he’s a good hand. And [being] the good hand, sometimes, is the cast of death.” After this, Bully went on to admit that Zayn is better than just a “good hand,” but ultimately seems “stuck” creatively. According to Bully, despite Zayn doing excellent work alongside The Bloodline, WWE’s creative team doesn’t seem to know what to do with him.

However, Dreamer pointed out that Zayn is over not only in Saudi Arabia, and with a heel turn he could add an extra layer to his WWE character, though they’d have to work hard to stop fans from eventually cheering for him.

UFC HOFer Ronda Rousey Plans To Retire After Gina Carano MVP-Netflix Fight

The upcoming fight between Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano at MVP MMA on May 16 is one of the most highly anticipated mixed martial arts bouts in recent memory. Rousey and Carano are coming off 10 and 17 year spells away from the sport respectively, but their star power and influence on women’s MMA especially makes this something of a dream fight for many fans. However, if you are expecting a series between the two pioneers of women’s MMA, it might be best to not hold your breath.

During a recent interview with “Sky Sports,” Rousey admitted that for as much as she would love to have multiple fights with Carano, she knows this is going to be her last fight in the sport of MMA. “I mean if this is the kind of fight that forces a trilogy, that would be hard to say no to. But yeah, I just feel like this is the perfect closure and the perfect way to walk away and to say goodbye.”

When asked why she wanted to face Carano, Rousey explained that it wasn’t a case of picking her because she wanted to return. Instead, it was more the fact that Rousey has so much respect for Carano that she would have felt foolish had she not got to fight it out with a woman that inspired her to entre the world of MMA. “She’s the one that inspired me to do this in the first place, and she’s the one that inspired me to come back. It wasn’t like ‘Oh I feel like I need a fight, I need to pick to Gina,’ I say Gina and was like ‘She makes me want to fight one more time, for the last time,’ and that we can both offer each other a chance at redemption.”

Rousey has had beef with current UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Kayla Harrison in recent months, which has caused speculation as to whether that could be a potential fight for Rousey. With that said, Rousey is adamant that May 16 will be the last time she makes the walk to the cage.
