WWE’s Roman Reigns: Cody Rhodes Requested We Not Cross Paths On Street Fighter Set

During an interview with Chris Van Vliet recently, Cody Rhodes was asked about working alongside Roman Reigns on the upcoming “Street Fighter” film, claiming that the two of them hardly ever crossed paths while on set. Since then, Reigns has been interviewed by “TMZ,” where he commented on the claims made by his former rival.

“The rumor is that he was requesting that,” Reigns said. “He was a little nervous that I was showing up, because he got there before me, and there was only a couple of days of crossover. So I think he was a little — you know what it is, the Tribal Chief comes to town, he gets a little nervous, he don’t know what to do, you know what I mean?”

During the aforementioned interview, Rhodes went into more detail about his relationship with the “Original Tribal Chief,” stating that while their relationship is awkward, he has nothing but admiration for all the things Reigns has accomplished. Rhodes also praised Reigns’ work in “Street Fighter,” promising fans of the video game series that there is something special to see in his rival’s scenes.

Reigns and Rhodes were reportedly slated to main event WWE WrestleMania a third time this year before creative plans changed, with Reigns now taking on CM Punk while Rhodes faces Randy Orton.

Cody Rhodes Talks AEW Departure

Cody Rhodes Talks AEW Departure

Cody Rhodes has opened up about his exit from AEW, revealing that the real reason behind his departure has never been publicly disclosed, even four years later. Speaking during a media appearance in New York City on The Breakfast Club, Rhodes addressed the ongoing speculation and made it clear that most fan theories are far from accurate.

Rhodes explained that the decision to remain silent about his AEW exit came largely from his wife, Brandi Rhodes. He praised her for choosing to move forward without discussing the details, calling the approach selfless.

He said, “Our departure from when we left the company we were with and helped create, and that was AEW, it came down to her deciding to not talk about it, that departure. Like, we’re not going to talk about it. We’re moving on. Did bad stuff happen? Good stuff happened too. I’m not going to talk about it.”

While that silence helped them transition into the next phase of their careers, Rhodes admitted it also created space for speculation.

He added, “One of the sad things about not talking about why we left and the departure, one of the difficult things was narratives get created. Stories get told, podcasts happen, fans literally think they know what happened when no one’s been even close. And what I would say is the selfless part, she lives with that. She owns that. She respects not just here, but the place we left enough to say, I’m not going to talk about that. And that made it so that they’re good, they’re out of here. That was very, very helpful for us. And again, good stuff happened there too. But that’s what I mean by selfless, because she lives with that.”

Rhodes did acknowledge in past comments that a personal issue played a role in his exit and that he felt disrespected toward the end of his time with AEW. Despite that, he has continued to speak positively about the company and maintains respect for the promotion.

Since leaving AEW in February 2022, Rhodes returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38 and has gone on to become a three-time Undisputed WWE Champion. He is now preparing for another major milestone as he heads into his fourth straight WrestleMania main event.

Rhodes is set to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton in the Night 1 main event of WrestleMania 42 on April 18 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

CM Punk WWE RAW MSG Confrontation With Fan After Show

CM Punk’s intense night at Madison Square Garden continued even after WWE RAW went off the air, as the World Heavyweight Champion was involved in a heated exchange with a fan following the broadcast.

A video shared on TikTok quickly gained attention, showing a fan loudly taunting Punk while he stood on the announce table after the show ended. The fan repeatedly shouted insults and voiced support for Roman Reigns, who is set to face Punk at WrestleMania 42.

The fan yelled, “Booooo! You suck! You suck! You suck! I acknowledge Roman! I acknowledge Roman!”

Punk initially reacted in a mocking manner by performing Roman Reigns’ signature acknowledgment gesture. However, the situation escalated when the fan continued shouting.

Punk responded directly, saying, “F** you, buddy! This is The Garden. The marquee says ‘wrestling,’ not ‘cinema,’ you f**ing idiot.”

The fan continued the exchange by targeting Punk’s age.

He shouted, “You’re old! You’re old! You’re old!”

The moment quickly became one of the most talked-about incidents from the night, adding to an already heated atmosphere surrounding Punk’s ongoing rivalry with Reigns.

Earlier in the evening on WWE RAW, Punk and Reigns closed the show with a chaotic brawl. Roman Reigns entered the ring to address the crowd, but Punk interrupted and immediately went on the attack. The fight spilled to ringside as both men exchanged heavy strikes.

Punk gained momentum by slamming Reigns into the announce table and the ring post. Reigns responded with a spear, but Punk countered with a GTS. The situation escalated further as Punk continued the assault, eventually powerbombing Reigns through the announce table.

WWE officials rushed in throughout the segment, attempting to separate both competitors, but struggled to contain the situation. The segment ended with Punk standing tall in front of the Madison Square Garden crowd.

The off-air confrontation with the fan added another layer to Punk’s night, highlighting the intense reactions surrounding his feud with Roman Reigns heading into WrestleMania 42.
