We’re just a few weeks away from WrestleMania weekend, which includes the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. On Thursday morning, Paul Levesque announced that Bad News Brown would be inducted into the Legacy class.

Hailing from Harlem, New York, Brown started his wrestling career in Stampede Wrestling in Calgary, Alberta, Canada against talent like Bret Hart. He debuted in WWE in 1988, where he famously kept to himself and had no friends because he didn’t need them. While in WWE, he feuded with the likes of Hulk Hogan, “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Roddy Piper, and Jake “The Snake” Roberts. At WrestleMania IV, he won a battle royal by eliminating Hart.

In 1990, Piper eliminated him in the Royal Rumble and Brown got his revenge by getting back in the ring and sending Piper over the top rope to eliminate him. This led to a match at WrestleMania VI, which ended in a double countout. Following his feud with Piper, he moved on to Roberts after he had given him a reptile for his birthday, which Brown was not pleased with. In order to deal with Roberts and his snake, Damien, Brown found a sewer rat to combat them. Roberts defeated Brown at SummerSlam and Brown was never seen in WWE again. Following his WWE career, Brown wrestled in Japan for UWF-I and NJPW. He would also work for several independent promotions until finally retiring in 1999 due to a knee injury.

Prior to his pro wrestling career, Brown was an Olympic medalist. He won the Bronze medal in judo during the 1976 Summer Olympics. He died from a heart attack in 2007.

In just 10 months with AEW, Thekla has become one of the fastest rising stars in the company, having captured the AEW Women’s World Championship and defeating the likes of Thunder Rosa, Mina Shirakawa and Willow Nightingale. Earlier this month, Thekla retained the title in a Best Two Out Of Three Falls match against Kris Statlander at AEW Revolution, and according to a new report, the company chose to promote their top women’s champion shortly after the pay-per-view.

On Wednesday, Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp confirmed that Thekla has signed a multi-year contract with AEW. At this time, the exact length of the deal has yet to be revealed, but AEW was reportedly so impressed with the “Toxic Spider’s” work since she made the jump from Japan last summer, that they made the decision to sign her to a new multi-year contract with still over a year left on her current deal. 

Sean Ross Sapp also notes that Thekla’s performances have been well received by AEW, which led her to become world champion sooner than many expected. The 32-year-old reportedly used representation to complete the deal.

After retaining the AEW Women’s World Championship last night on “AEW Dynamite” against Shirakawa, Thekla’s will be looking to eclipse 50 days with the title next week, as she’s currently seven days away from reaching that milestone. That said, Thekla needed to rely on illicit means to hold onto the gold yesterday, as she used brass knuckles to defeat Shirakawa.

Danhausen has made a quick impression on the WWE fans and his new colleagues in the promotion, but one WWE star, Liv Morgan, doesn’t want anything to do with him.

The former AEW star’s first major impact on WWE television came against Judgment Day member Dominik Mysterio, as he cursed him, ultimately playing a part in Mysterio’s Intercontinental Championship loss to Penta. Morgan, in an interview with “The Collection” on the Reality of Wrestling YouTube channel, stated that the incident is the reason why she wants no association with Danhausen.

“You know Danhausen could have come into WWE and I wouldn’t really have, you know, I would have been happy for him. Like, wow, what an amazing opportunity. But right away he wants to ‘curse’ Daddy Dom and cause all this like friction and trouble and chaos and confusion and paranoia. So I want him away from me,” said Morgan. “I want him away from the Judgment Day. I want him 1000 ft away from the clubhouse at all times. I have no interest in that man. And I hope he never approaches me. I hope he never comes up to me. I hope he never tries to look me in my eye. I hope he stays away from Daddy Dom. And that’s really it. I don’t mind the guy, but he does have to stay away from the Judgment Day.”

Danhausen has laid curses on a few WWE stars following the first one he directed at Mysterio. The new WWE star cursed El Grande Americano, which ultimately led to Americano not wrestling in his match, and later cursed The Miz for not agreeing to be his mentor. More recently, Danhausen’s curses extended beyond WWE stars, as he cursed YouTuber iShowSpeed during a recent “Raw” appearance.

Many believe that John Cena could still offer something in the ring, thoughts which AEW’s Jeff Jarrett also echoed recently. 

Jarrett, on his “My World” podcast, requested Cena to come out of retirement and get back in the ring and wrestle a handful of dates. 

“Unretire,” replied Jarrett when asked how Cena could contribute to WWE. “So, if John is not going to be, I’ll call it an active participant of the roster, I’m just kind of curious to see where all that goes. The business is better with John Cena in it. There’s just no gray area, no matter what role they figure out for him. If you’re asking me how to figure out what’s the best way to be utilized, I’d say, you know, if Brock is working two to four times a year, Cena can work x amount of the time.”

The AEW star gave the example of the late, great Hulk Hogan to highlight how some stars can draw in pro wrestling even past the age of 50. Jarrett feels that Cena could be a valuable asset in many roles in WWE, and thinks what TKO — WWE’s owner — is willing to pay Cena will be the stumbling block in any negotiation with the 17-time world champion.

“There’s all kinds of on-screen roles that he can be a part of the active roster. I just don’t know if TKO will see it that way. I don’t know what John’s price tag is. That to me is where it’s going to get right down to it. What is TKO willing to pay? And whatever they’re willing to pay, what’s John willing to do? But I’m happy to hear him say that. I would have him unretire and try to figure out how to do two to four matches a year. I think it’s just that simple,” added Jarrett. 

Jarrett is optimistic about Cena lacing up his wrestling boots yet again, but Cena has ruled out any possibility of a return to the ring, recently revealing that he will be a part of the WWE family, but not as a wrestler.
