RHIYO Capture Women’s Tag Team Titles on WWE RAW

RHIYO Capture Women’s Tag Team Titles on WWE RAW – The Kabuki Warriors are no longer the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions following a title change on WWE RAW.

The Stranger Things-themed episode of RAW on Netflix opened with Asuka and Kairi Sane defending the Women’s Tag Team Championship against RHIYO, the team of Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY. The bout set the tone for the night and immediately placed the focus on the women’s tag division.

During the match, WWE also acknowledged the retirement of Hiroshi Tanahashi. Commentary referenced the NJPW President when IYO SKY connected with a Sling Blade, with Corey Graves noting that the move was inspired by Tanahashi. The mention drew attention from fans familiar with SKY’s background and her ties to Japanese wrestling.

The closing moments of the match were decisive. Rhea Ripley delivered a Riptide to Asuka, leaving one-half of the champions down. IYO SKY followed by connecting with a moonsault on Asuka. Ripley then made the cover and secured the pinfall, officially ending The Kabuki Warriors’ reign and crowning new champions.

Prior to RAW, some fans believed WWE had already hinted at the outcome during the January 2 episode of SmackDown. On that show, Ripley and SKY hit Kairi Sane with back-to-back finishing moves, allowing SKY to score the pinfall. That moment led to speculation that the title match result had been quietly revealed in advance.

Instead, WWE delivered a clear result on RAW. RHIYO defeated The Kabuki Warriors clean in the center of the ring to win the Women’s Tag Team Championship. The victory establishes Ripley and SKY as the new standard-bearers in the division.

With new champions now in place, attention will shift to which team steps forward as the next challengers. For now, RHIYO leave RAW with championship gold and momentum heading into the weeks ahead.
