SANADA weighs in on his Forbidden Door opponent.

SANADA issued an open challenge for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, and the challenge was accepted by “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry.

Speaking to Tokyo Sports (via DeepL), SANADA said that he was expecting a bigger challenger, and is unfamiliar with Perry.

“I have no knowledge of Jack Perry. It’s sad to see someone like that challenge the IWGP. Is an open challenge really that easy to decide? It’s the IWGP. I think it’s worth more than the AEW belt,” he said.

Perry failed to capture the AEW World Title at AEW Double or Nothing in the Four Pillar Four-Way bout against MJF, Darby Allin, and Sammy Guevara.

The IWGP World Heavyweight Title was defended in a four-way bout at Forbidden Door 2022 with Jay White defending against Adam Cole, Kazuchika Okada, and Hangman Page.
