Seth Rollins Vows To Reclaim World Heavyweight Championship After Injury Layoff

Former World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins has made it clear that he still considers himself the rightful holder of the title he never lost in the ring. As the Road to WrestleMania 42 continues at Elimination Chamber in Chicago, Rollins is already focused on reclaiming the championship once he is medically cleared.

Rollins recently appeared on ESPN’s First Take, where he was asked about his goals while rehabbing a torn rotator cuff suffered at WWE Crown Jewel in October. The injury forced him to relinquish the World Heavyweight Championship, ending his reign without a decisive defeat.

“That is a loaded question. There’s a ton of guys that I’d like to get in the ring with, but the bottom line is whoever is holding on to my World Heavyweight Championship, because what you got to understand is I never lost that title,” Rollins said. “I was forced to give that title up due to injuries. I want my title back. Right now, CM Punk is holding on to that title, but he’s going into WrestleMania here very shortly. Actually, Elimination Chamber, since we’re talking about it, he’s got to get past Finn Balor. Finn Balor, a former Universal Champion. So Finn Balor could be taking that into WrestleMania. Either way, somebody’s defending that title against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, and whoever comes out of that, I want next, boys. That title’s mine. I never lost it.”

CM Punk is set to defend the championship against Finn Balor tonight at the United Center. The winner will move on to face Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 42 at Allegiant Stadium.

Rollins has been sidelined for several months. His absence has left The Vision weakened, especially following injuries to Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. Despite that setback, Rollins’ message is direct. Once he returns, he intends to step back into the title picture and reclaim what he believes is still his.
