The result immediately sparked debate online, with some fans suggesting the fight appeared staged due to its short duration and clean execution. However, Baszler pushed back strongly against that narrative on X, pointing directly to Rousey’s established history in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Baszler referenced several of Rousey’s most notable UFC finishes, including her 14-second submission victory over Cat Zingano at UFC 184 and her 16-second armbar win over Alexis Davis at UFC 175.
