WWE Concludes Latest Round of Developmental Releases – WWE has reportedly finalized its latest round of developmental roster cuts, marking another transition period for NXT’s ongoing talent cycle. The list of released names includes former NXT North American Champion Wes Lee, BJ Ray, and several other wrestlers who had appeared on NXT television and live events.
Fightful Select followed up on the report, citing WWE sources who described the move as part of the “natural progression” within the developmental system. Internally, this round of releases was viewed as a routine evaluation process, not as a cost-cutting measure. The departures were said to reflect the company’s standard approach to periodically assessing Performance Center talent and refreshing its roster.
The latest cuts reportedly affected around a dozen performers, encompassing a mix of contract expirations, official releases, and wrestlers who opted not to renew or re-sign with WWE. Within the company, these reshuffles are seen as a normal aspect of the NXT system — clearing space for new signings while others transition out.
Despite this round of exits, WWE continues to focus on talent acquisition. The company is said to be actively recruiting new prospects through its Performance Center and expanding international recruitment programs, ensuring a steady flow of fresh faces into the developmental system throughout the year.
While WWE has yet to issue an official statement, the full list of released names reported so far includes:
