WWE Night of Champions 2025 Preview
Headlining the event is John Cena’s first Undisputed WWE Championship defense since retaining the title against Randy Orton at WWE Backlash on May 10. Cena now faces long-time rival CM Punk, who has reignited his feud with the champion over the past few weeks through a series of confrontations and bitter exchanges. Cena has attempted to reason with Punk, urging him to change his combative stance toward the WWE Universe, but Punk has refused to soften his edge.
Also scheduled is the 2025 King of the Ring final, pitting Randy Orton against Cody Rhodes. The winner will earn the right to challenge either GUNTHER for the World Heavyweight Championship or Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WWE SummerSlam. On the women’s side, Jade Cargill battles Asuka in the Queen of the Ring final, with the winner securing a SummerSlam title match against either Tiffany Stratton or IYO SKY, depending on brand alignment.
The United States Championship will also be on the line as Jacob Fatu defends against Solo Sikoa. The two former allies have been at odds since Fatu betrayed Sikoa during the Money in the Bank Ladder Match earlier this month, denying him the opportunity to become briefcase holder. Their rivalry has escalated with multiple heated altercations, setting the stage for a highly personal title clash.
Elsewhere on the card, Sami Zayn looks for redemption following his tournament loss to Orton by taking on Karrion Kross, who is competing in his first premium live event match since WrestleMania 40.
In the women’s division, former Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley will go to war with Raquel Rodriguez in a Street Fight, continuing their intense rivalry born from friendship gone wrong.
