Featured below are complete WWE NXT results from Tuesday, January 30, 2024. The following report was written by Rajah.com reporter Matt Boone and our live coverage partner (@MattBoone0709Trick Williams & Carmelo Hayes vs. LWONoam Dar (C) vs. Von Wagner
It’s main event (match) time! We return from the break and we see Bron Breakker in the locker room. In comes Baron Corbin singing Breakker’s praises for his performance in the Men’s Royal Rumble match. He asks why he had to watch it on Peacock to see it. He said he figured as one-half of The Wolf Dogs, he’d have been told. Breakker stops him and makes him admit he likes The Wolf Dogs name. Back inside the CWC, we shoot to Booker T and Vic Joseph at the commentary desk. They have their serious voices on as they recap what just transpired with Dijak throwing Joe Gacy off a production truck outside of the building prior to the commercial break. The camera then pans over to the ring, where we see Von Wagner with Mr. Stone by his side on one side, and reigning and defending NXT Heritage Cup Champion Noam Dar with The Meta-Four by his side. The ring announcer handles the formal pre-match ring introductions and then runs down the rules. The bell sounds and we’re officially off-and-running with this one. Von Wagner dominates the action straight out of the gate, pummeling Dar for the entire first round. He un-tapes his own fists towards the end of the round and keeps pounding and pounding on Dar as opposed to making any effort to score any points. The bell sounds to end the round and Von keeps pounding on him. The Meta-Four come in to drag a lifeless Noam away, but Von grabs him and stops them. It is finally explained to Von how this works and he goes to his corner. The in-between rounds time is up and Von charges at Noam and attacks him in the corner. After a distraction, Dar takes over and scores a quick fall to end the second round as soon as it starts. As they go to their respective corners with Dar up 1 to 0, we head into a mid-match commercial break. We return, and the third round wraps up with Von stuck in a submission but not tapping. The bell sounds to start the fourth round, with Noam still up 1 to 0. Von immediately takes it to Noam while limping all-the-while. Noam takes back over after some distractions and goes up 2 to 0 to win and retain. Dar heads over and taunts Robert Stone’s kids in the crowd after the match. Von snaps and heads out to beat him up on the floor. He clears off the commentary desk and picks up Noam. Stone is actually cheering him on. Oro Mensah comes over to jump on him but he ends up power bombing him through the table instead. Winner and STILL NXT Heritage Cup Champion: Noam Dar Backstage, we see an upset Ava reading Dijak the riot act after throwing Joe Gacy off the production truck earlier in the parking lot. Dijak tells Ava he wants a No Disqualification match against Gacy at Vengeance Day. Ava asks how that’s possible after what he did. Gacy pops up behind them with trash all over him and says he likes the idea. Ava tells Dijak and Gacy the match is on. We head to another commercial break. It’s main event (segment) time! Vic Joseph and Booker T run down the updated lineup for Saturday’s WWE NXT Vengeance Day 2024 premium live event in Clarksville, TN. We then hear Trick Williams’ theme as he comes out to settle in the ring. He then tells Ilja Dragunov he doesn’t want to waste any time and to come on out. The theme for “The Mad Dragon” hits and out comes the WWE NXT World Champion. Trick refuses to shake his hand and goes on to talk about how he thinks Ilja has been playing him this whole time in an attempt to increase his own chances of beating him by waiting for him to be double-booked at Vengeance Day. Ilja continues to try and tell Trick that he should be more concerned about his own friend, Carmelo Hayes. He also tells him that their rivalry made him more of a man than his friendship and advice over the years from his “friend” Carmelo Hayes. Trick tells Ilja to leave Melo out of this. He says he will and also tells him he’s gonna ruin everything he built this Sunday. Williams gets in Ilja’s face and says there isn’t anyone, including “The Mad Dragon,” who can destroy what he has built. He says this ain’t the same Trick he stood in the ring with before as a man trying to prove himself. He says this is a Trick who is coming for what he knows is his. Trick closes by saying “May the best man win, partner!” They shake hands and then Ilja pulls Trick in super close for a tight hug. Ilja backs off and smiles as Trick looks shook. Out of nowhere, Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin attack Trick and Ilja from behind. Carmelo Hayes runs out to make the save but The Wolf Dogs end up guzzling him up as well. Trick starts to fight back and he and Hayes, on the same page, clear the ring of their opponents for Sunday’s Dusty Classic Finals. Trick turns around and sees Ilja getting back up. They stare each other down. Melo turns and sees Trick focusing on that while he’s focused on Bron and Corbin at ringside. Vic questions where Trick’s mind is at and what he’s more focused on heading into Sunday. That’s how this week’s show goes off the air.
