WWE Parts Ways with Kevin Patrick

Backstage Feeling On Kevin Patrick As Head Of WWE SmackDown Commentary

WWE Parts Ways with Kevin Patrick – In a recent development reported by Pwinsider, WWE has officially released Kevin Patrick from its roster. The departure marks the end of Patrick’s tenure, where he served as a backstage correspondent for Monday Night Raw, play-by-play commentator for WWE Main Event, and the host of Raw Talk.

Career Highlights

Known by his real name, Kevin Egan, Patrick joined WWE in March 2021, contributing to various roles within the company. Prior to his WWE stint, Patrick built a diverse career, starting with RTE, Ireland’s National Broadcaster, covering soccer events and the 2004 Olympics. He later transitioned to roles with the Big Ten Network, the Chicago Fire Soccer Club, and beIN SPORTS.

Lead Announcer Role and Changes

Taking on the lead announcer position for WWE Raw, Patrick replaced Jimmy Smith a few years ago, with WWE expressing high expectations for his potential. In an effort to foster his growth, WWE paired him with Michael Cole last August. However, recent adjustments in the announce teams, especially with Cole’s focus on Raw, led to a change in plans for Patrick.

Unforeseen Departure

Despite WWE’s earlier investment in Patrick and the changes made to his role, recent reports indicate that he has been removed from his position, with the details of the departure remaining undisclosed. As of now, Kevin Patrick has not commented on the situation.
