WWE Reschedules Money in the Bank 2026 for September 6 in New Orleans – WWE has officially announced a change to its 2026 Money in the Bank premium live event date. Originally scheduled for August 29, the show will now take place on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
In a joint statement with the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and Legends Global, WWE confirmed the one-week adjustment while maintaining the same venue. The company described the event as one of its signature spectacles, where “WWE’s biggest Superstars battle to earn a briefcase containing a contract for a championship match at a time and place of their choosing anytime within the next year.”
New Orleans’ hosting duties for Money in the Bank serve as a consolation after the city was initially considered for WrestleMania 42. Instead, WWE opted to return WrestleMania to Las Vegas for the second consecutive year in 2026. Although a future WrestleMania is still planned for New Orleans, WWE has yet to confirm the specific year. Currently, WrestleMania 42 is set for Las Vegas in 2026, followed by WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia in 2027.
Ticket information for Money in the Bank 2026 will be revealed in the coming months. The event will follow SummerSlam 2026, which takes place in Minneapolis over two nights on August 1 and August 2.
Notably, the new date makes this the latest Money in the Bank event ever held, breaking from its traditional May–July slot. The September 6 date also falls on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, potentially allowing for a major holiday weekend spectacle in New Orleans.
