WWE reportedly has staff dedicated monitoring AEW programming as part of its internal operations at company headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut.

The detail was shared by WrestleVotes during a recent live Q&A session, where TC of WrestleVotes explained that monitoring AEW content is an established role within WWE’s structure.

“I know that there’s people in Stamford with AEW action figures on their desks,” TC said. “There’s people’s jobs is to watch AEW programming and report into analytics and different departments on what’s going on in AEW. So it’s not like a hush-hush thing.”

The comments came in response to a question regarding whether WWE talent discusses AEW internally. According to TC, communication between individuals across both companies is not unusual, largely due to existing friendships and shared history between wrestlers who have worked together in the past.

The competition between WWE and AEW has been ongoing since 2019, when AEW launched and quickly established itself as the number two wrestling promotion globally. That rivalry became most visible during the Wednesday Night Viewership Wars, which ran from October 2019 through April 2021. During that period, AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT aired head-to-head on Wednesday nights.

The direct competition ended when NXT moved to Tuesday nights, a shift widely viewed as a response to AEW’s consistent ratings advantage during that timeframe.

Tensions between the two promotions increased again throughout 2025. WWE scheduled multiple events opposite AEW pay-per-views, including September 20, when WWE Wrestlepalooza aired on the same day as AEW All Out. Earlier in August 2025, reports indicated that WWE’s counter-programming strategy was part of a broader effort aimed at limiting AEW’s growth.

The latest information highlights how closely WWE continues to follow AEW’s product, not only from a competitive standpoint but also through structured internal analysis. The presence of staff specifically assigned to monitor AEW programming shows that the rivalry remains active behind the scenes, even when the two companies are not directly competing in the same time slots.
