Finn Balor brought back his Demon persona and defeated Dominik Mysterio in a brutal street fight at WrestleMania 42 Sunday.

The stipulation was added during the pre-show, immediately raising expectations for a violent encounter. This marked the first appearance of “The Demon” since WrestleMania 39, where Balor came up short against Adam Copeland.

Balor started aggressively, taking control early with strikes and sending Mysterio to the outside. He introduced weapons quickly, using a kendo stick and slamming Mysterio into the announce table. The action remained fast-paced, with both competitors taking advantage of the no-disqualification environment.

Mysterio responded with a suicide dive and turned the momentum by bringing chairs into the ring. He used them to target Balor’s back and attempted a suplex onto the chairs, but Balor countered and drove him down with a gourdbuster onto the setup. Balor followed with a sling blade, but Mysterio regained control with a superkick and connected with a 619, followed by a frog splash for a near fall.

As the match continued, weapons played a central role. Mysterio brought a table into the ring and later sent Balor crashing through it. He added more punishment with chair shots and even placed a chair around Balor’s head before hitting another 619. Despite the sustained offense, Balor continued to fight back.

In the final sequence, Balor regained control with repeated chair shots and a dropkick that sent Mysterio into the corner. He then positioned Mysterio on a table and climbed to the top rope. Balor finished the match with a Coup de Grace through the table, securing the three-count.

The victory marks a significant return for Balor’s Demon persona and adds another chapter to his rivalry with Mysterio. The result also highlights Balor’s ability to deliver in high-stakes matches on WWE’s biggest stage.
