
Thekla will defend the AEW Women’s World Championship in a four-way match at AEW Double or Nothing 2026.
The championship match was officially announced during the May 9 episode of AEW Fairway to Hell.

Thekla will put the title on the line against Hikaru Shida, Kris Statlander, and Jamie Hayter in one of the biggest women’s matches currently scheduled for the pay-per-view.
The Austrian star has held the AEW Women’s World Championship since February 2026 and is approaching 88 days as champion.
The upcoming match at Double or Nothing will mark the sixth title defense of her current reign.
AEW Double or Nothing 2026 is scheduled to take place on May 24 at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens.
The newly announced title match joins an already stacked lineup for the event.
Elsewhere on the card, Kazuchika Okada will defend the AEW International Championship against Konosuke Takeshita.
FTR will also defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship against Cage and Cope in a tag team “I Quit” match.
The Stadium Stampede match is also set for the show, featuring Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, Jack Perry, and The Young Bucks against Ricochet’s group alongside Mark Davis and additional partners still to be announced.
With four established stars now battling for the AEW Women’s World Championship, Thekla faces one of the toughest title defenses of her reign at Double or Nothing.
