Konosuke Takeshita to Replace Kazuchika Okada Against Darby Allin

Konosuke Takeshita has officially replaced Kazuchika Okada as the next challenger for Darby Allin and the AEW World Championship.

The announcement was made during AEW Fairway to Hell after plans involving Okada changed due to him traveling to Japan for a personal reason.

Okada had originally been scheduled to challenge Allin for the AEW World Championship on the upcoming May 13 episode of AEW Dynamite.

However, Don Callis confirmed during Fairway to Hell that Takeshita will now represent the Don Callis Family in the title match instead.

The change immediately adds another layer of tension within the Don Callis Family, as Okada and Takeshita have consistently shown signs of friction despite technically being aligned together.

The two stars are still expected to collide in a singles match at AEW Double or Nothing 2026, making the title opportunity even more significant for Takeshita heading into the pay-per-view.

Takeshita now finds himself with a major chance to capture the biggest championship in AEW while potentially creating even more issues within the faction.

Meanwhile, Allin enters the defense after surviving an extremely brutal main event against PAC at Fairway to Hell.

During the match, Allin endured several dangerous spots, including a massive fall through four tables from approximately 25 feet in the air.

Despite the punishment, Allin managed to recover and retain the AEW World Championship after connecting with a Coffin Drop on PAC.

The show ended with Allin standing tall as the company officially shifted focus toward his upcoming title defense against Takeshita.

With Takeshita now replacing Okada in the championship match, the pressure surrounding the Don Callis Family continues to intensify heading into Double or Nothing.
