Becky Lynch will defend her Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Sol Ruca at WWE Clash in Italy, with the title bout officially confirmed following events at Saturday Night’s Main Event and a backstage announcement on WWE programming.
Ruca and Lynch met in a non-title match on the May 23 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event. The match did not reach a decisive finish, as Ruca gained momentum late and set up for her Sol Snatcher finisher. Before she could execute the move, Lynch pulled referee Jessika Carr into position, forcing a disqualification and ending the match abruptly.
Believing she had avoided a definitive loss, Lynch was later confronted backstage by Nick Aldis. He revealed that he had spoken with Adam Pearce and confirmed that Lynch would face Ruca again at Clash in Italy. This time, however, the championship will be on the line.
The rematch is set for next weekend at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, further strengthening the event’s lineup with another title contest. Lynch questioned the reasoning behind the decision, but Aldis made it clear that she would be defending the Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Ruca at the premium live event.
Ruca now becomes the second challenger for the title since Lynch regained it at WrestleMania, following a defense against Iyo Sky. Lynch originally recaptured the championship from AJ Lee on that stage, and her reign now faces another test against a rising competitor who already proved she can push the champion to the limit.
Clash in Italy continues to take shape as one of WWE’s major international shows of the year, with multiple championship matches confirmed for Turin.
