General Adnan Passes Away at 84 – Sheik Adnan Al-Kaissie, also known as General Adnan, has passed away at the age of 84. The news of his passing circulated on social media, marking the end of a long and storied career in professional wrestling.

Born in Baghdad, Iraq, Al-Kaissie moved to the United States in the 1950s to pursue a football career at the University of Houston. He later transferred to Oklahoma State, where he excelled as a wrestler. His professional wrestling journey began in the late 1950s when he wrestled under the persona of a Native American character named Billy White Wolf. Throughout the 1960s and the first half of the 1970s, he competed in various wrestling territories, including Hawaii, the Pacific Northwest, Texas, and Australia. In 1976, he joined the WWWF and won the WWWF Tag Team Championships alongside Chief Jay Strongbow in December of that year. Unfortunately, they had to vacate the titles in May due to Al-Kaissie’s need for neck surgery.

In 1981, Al-Kaissie transitioned to the AWA, where he wrestled under the name Sheik Adnan Al-Kaissie. Over eight years in the promotion, he engaged in memorable feuds with the likes of Nick Bockwinkel and Sgt. Slaughter.

In 1990, Al-Kaissie made a return to WWE as General Adnan and aligned himself with Sgt. Slaughter and The Iron Sheik, then known as Colonel Mustafa, forming the Triangle of Terror. The trio headlined the main event of SummerSlam 1991, taking on the team of Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior.

Sheik Adnan Al-Kaissie’s contributions to professional wrestling left an indelible mark on the industry, and he will be remembered by fans and colleagues alike for his significant role in wrestling history.
