Kevin Nash offered a blunt and direct reaction to WrestleMania 42 weekend, saying the overall experience lacked energy and emotion. Speaking on his Kliq This Podcast, Kevin Nash made it clear that while the event delivered inside the ring, something felt off behind the scenes.
The two-night show took place at Allegiant Stadium on April 18 and 19, 2026, drawing major attention for its headline matches and business success. However, Nash focused on what he believes is missing under the current corporate structure.
“It Felt Kind Of Soulless”
Nash described his personal experience during the weekend without hesitation.
“I felt, and maybe because I was running on fumes, but it felt kind of soulless.”
He suggested the atmosphere lacked the connection he once associated with major WWE events.
Criticism of TKO’s Approach to Talent
Nash pointed his criticism toward TKO Group Holdings, emphasizing that his issue is not with the wrestlers or matches, but with how leadership views long-time talent.
“I’m not stupid and I’m not naive, and I understand that the bottom line is that is a business. Once it left Vince’s hands, no matter if you love Vince or don’t love Vince, from the boys’ standpoint, if you had a relationship with Vince and you were a guy that pushed those numbers, a Michaels, a Triple H, a Steve, a Taker, if you were a guy that pushed those numbers, you had a relationship that was gold.”
He continued by stating that the same level of respect no longer exists.
“Now, I don’t think that they look at Steve and Taker as the same way. I’m talking about TKO, or as we now refer to it, The Adjustment Bureau, whatever they want to call themselves. They just don’t show the appreciation.”
Strong Words on Leadership Experience
Nash used a sharp comparison to explain his concerns about the current leadership group.
“It’s almost kind of like having a president that has no experience in warfare, that just doesn’t kind of get it.”
The comment reflects his belief that decision-makers lack the perspective that came from years inside the wrestling business.
Financial Growth vs Identity
Despite his criticism, Nash acknowledged WWE’s strong financial performance. The company generated $1.7 billion in revenue in 2025, up from $1.4 billion the previous year, showing continued growth under TKO.
Still, he questioned whether financial success has come at the expense of something less tangible.
“Why would they be any different than the rest of society?”
WrestleMania 42 featured major outcomes, including Cody Rhodes retaining the Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton, and Roman Reigns defeating CM Punk. Nash was also part of the Hall of Fame ceremony during the Las Vegas weekend.
His comments continue a pattern of criticism aimed at WWE’s corporate direction since the merger in 2023, particularly when comparing it to the era under Vince McMahon.
