Kota Ibushi Expected to Be Sidelined for Six to Twelve Months

Kota Ibushi Expected to Be Sidelined for Six to Twelve Months – Kota Ibushi’s wrestling career is currently on hold due to an ankle injury that has required surgery and ongoing rehabilitation.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer, Ibushi is facing a recovery period of six to 12 months following his ankle surgery.

The injury occurred during his last match in January at Pro Wrestling NOAH’s New Year 2024 event, where he faced Naomichi Marufuji in the headline bout. Reports suggest that Ibushi sustained injuries to both ankles during the match, which featured some notably rough spots. Following the event, Ibushi issued an apology for his performance and underwent further evaluation at a hospital, ultimately leading to the decision to undergo surgery.

This setback comes after Ibushi’s departure from New Japan Pro Wrestling in 2023 and his subsequent signing with AEW. His last wrestling appearance was at WrestleDream in October before the injury forced him out of action.

As Ibushi begins his rehabilitation process, fans and the wrestling community eagerly await his return to the ring, wishing him a speedy recovery and hoping to see him back in action stronger than ever.
