Tommy Dreamer Named TNA Head of Creative – Following Scott D’Amore’s exit from TNA Wrestling on February 7, 2024, Tommy Dreamer, a former WWE star, has stepped in to lead the creative team.
D’Amore, who served as President of TNA Wrestling, was succeeded by Anthony Cicione. Additionally, D’Amore had been overseeing the company’s creative direction.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer confirmed Dreamer’s appointment as the new head of creative, a move that many had anticipated following D’Amore’s departure.
Dreamer’s involvement with TNA Wrestling’s creative process dates back to January 2019, where he initially served as a producer. Although he departed Impact Wrestling in November 2021, Dreamer returned to the company in December of the same year, taking on both producer and wrestler roles.
During this transitional period, Dreamer was involved in the inaugural title change of the new TNA Wrestling era, losing the TNA Digital Media Championship to Crazzy Steve at Hard to Kill.
Reports suggest that D’Amore’s departure left some members of the TNA roster disheartened. WWE’s Naomi, formerly known as Trinity in TNA Wrestling, expressed her support for D’Amore on Twitter.
Among the reasons cited for D’Amore’s exit was a reported budgetary disagreement with management. Notably, there were intentions to sign Braun Strowman in 2021, a move that D’Amore advocated for, but it ultimately did not materialize.
